OT: The SPF Mafia Game Round Three

Ho hum...there my primary suspect for mafia got killed by said mafia.

I'm still suspicious of Lord Nikon and goltar for the same reasons as last time, but I lost some of my confidence after seeing how wrong I was with Drixx. I'll have to read some more and think some more before pointing my finger at someone.
Time to play some nethack and ponder, methinks.

Anyway, it seems odd to go with Drixx (RIP), although cygnus may be right saying he could've had a role and be taken out because of that.

CDRT in custody doesn't mean too much IMO, he wasn't that active and he's new. Don't know what to make of it yet, but I'll look trough the posts seeing if this is a frame up or something...

Hm.. I think I'll grab a snack and go read for a bit.. you know, celebrating making day 2 :grin:

I'll see if I can make a same post about Drixx to see what was up there.

I'm amazed this hasn't been voted on yet today, but yesterday it was clear RevenantKnight was either the village idiot, or someone trying to look like one. So we have a case for either A) an irresponsible mafia for not murdering him or B) a mafia member trying to look like the idiot to avoid lynching (I know this is stupid but can't think of any other reasons. I guess there is C) mafia targeted RK, doc protected him and vig killed Drixx but that's incredibly unlikely.


So I'll cast my vote for the glaringly obvious candidate

He had contact with more people then his posts showed on first sight...
He met Brak twice. First suspiciously lying low and the second time perhaps being the crooked detective.

All of the ''contacts'' don't seem that interesting however if you combine it with my last post (about CDRT) you can see they both get Moar back in it. I still don't know for sure, but to me it looks like a set up. Both aren't that obvious (easy to look over and think ''that's not too much''), but also not hard to find (both are votes). Before I truly make up my mind if it's a set up, coïncidence or bad play I'm going to point my finger.. :rolleyes:

Nikon suspects Moar which is probably genuine.. can't tell that (so if it's a set up he might still be a normal townie maybe not even noticing it), however it is the second time Rash jumped on the band wagon ''voting along'' with someone.

Rash, you seem good on day one, but you mess up hopping along someone. Please explain your votes more before making them (that goes for the opening vote today too).. If I were you I would've waited for Nikon's reply to Moar before doing anything.

@Sint, I initially voted Jaago, then muzzz, then back to Jaago when brak voted him, all on day 1

I'd have started the vote with one of them if sir lister hadn't stood out for the reasons given in the post I voted him. If you can't accept that as my reasoning explain why you think so?

Yes, I have 4 people on my suspect list, and there's only 3 mafia. I'm aware now as I was yesterday that we have to take risks when we don't have special information like the cop or the mafia.


 
First, a few issues that affect the game, but more OOC than anything else. As for forum time, it currently says it's 13:45 and my clock says 11:59 a.m., I'm in Pacific Time. Forum time is hereby some magical timezone of it's own. And a question for skoolbus. Are we allowed to use information from outside of this thread in the game? I'm thinking general posting habits, personalities, etc. Thanks.

Now, back in character.

A quick summary of known information. Drixx is dead, therefore there are still mafia members around. CDRToast was taken in, therefore he is not the Crooked Detective. Those are the only KNOWN bits of information that EVERYONE has. Drixx could have been mafia, they are allowed to kill their own. Why? The only reasons I can see are to either a) cause confusion, or b) eliminate a possible traitor/weak link. At this point, neither makes a lot of sense. So I believe Drixx was a townie.

CDRToast could be mafia, and at this point it could make sense to protect a fellow member for the day. But since he wasn't very active, nor completely inactive, it would be better saved for later when there are less townies remaining. I'm more inclined to believe that he was simply a random townie chosen. But I could be wrong.

My suspicions haven't really changed overnight. Not much at least. But it's still a little early to vote.

IMO Rash is a townie too, if he was a mafiot he wouldn't have bandwagoned so easily, and it looks like we've both drawn the same conclusions at this point. And then you vote for Rash. Hmm? ;)

I can't stop you, but I think discussing outside of mafia game posting habits isn't in the spirit of the game, same as discussing activity times. I will however, say that you can't discuss what happens outside of the mafia game threads in the mafia game thread. You can keep your feelings and gathered information to yourself, but only discuss mafia stuff in the mafia thread.

No, the mafia murdering themselves would be sabotaging the game. The objective is to win, not confuse the crap out of everyone. I suppose I should just tell everyone the vigilante can't kill themselves either. And a reminder, you can't vote for yourself to get lynched.
 
Ok first of all I'm not the kind of guy to get into all that reverse psyco thingy. I'll just assume everyone is smart.

There is no way RK is the village idiot. As many people pointed out before, he's acting like it and no one smart would do that (once again, all my theories in this game will be based on the fact that everyone who signed up is smart). So only a mafia would use his tactics.

A regular townie would not pretend to be the VI because it makes him THE prime target for the mafia. So only a mafia member would act like the idiot. And since he was all over the place almost claiming ''Hey look everyone I'm the village idiot'' and the mafia did nothing about it, it pretty much confirm is allegeance to their clan.

So he's my main suspect. Second suspect now. Well the smart thing to do for the mafia in the early days of this game is to try and confuse everyone by making sure they are not associated with each others. With 12 votes required to lynch someone, it's the perfect timing to vote against each other and make people think ''well they can't BOTH be mafia because they wouldn't vote for each other'' ... WRONG. If I was part of the mafia, I would definetly vote for one my teamate on the first day.

So we know RK is a mafia member. Who did he vote for? Rashiminos. Well how convenient, the way this guy as been playing (very agressive, changing his avatar for the rope, etc.) he's a main suspect. He fits the profile and to top it all, one of his teamate voted for him on the first day.

What really plays against Rash is the fact that he's been a pro-lynching player, claiming in many posts that we absolutely need to lynch someone every round. Now the only person who came close to being lynched was RK and Rash didn't vote for him? Why not, don't tell me he didn't have time for it. This guy owns half the posts in this thread and suddenly he wouldn't have time for it? He knew one of his fellow mafia member was in danger and didn't want to risk eliminating him right away.

So that's it for now. I have a couple of doubts about the 3rd member but don't want to accuse anyone until I have solid explanations like the 2 aboves. We definetly need to lynch one of these 2 today.

As for CDRToast being held, it makes a lot of sense to me. Remember all the talk we had about the night people being inactive early on? Well the mafia are definetly looking to find out about the vigilante or cop. So they will most likely interogate early inactive people (who are not part of the mafia) in hope of finding a night role.

I might not have time to swing by before this day ends so I'll cast my vote right away.
