Yet another "legit" exploit discovered - cheesy gold earning

Testing update:
Selling/buying in act 2 even more increases your revenue if you have radament quest done and atma visited (she gives 10% discount at all act2 merchants while selling price remains the same)
Gheed's also lowers buy price (up to 15% from mod) but doesn't lower sell price.
So for maximum efficiency sell/buy in act 2 hell with 15% price reduce gheed's charm.

I wouldn't be surprised if Blizz banned you for doing this...it is an exploit and they could easily bring up logs of merchant activity...

Why would they ban you over gold. .it's just gold?

Yea man i agree, by doing this you will be able to mess with sojs and im not going to get into the details and make billions of lil cloners running about for me to kill =P

How would this affect sojs. .I'm not sure if this is true but I thought you couldn't buy sojs back. . unless my friend lied to me lol

I was trying this out earlier on with a Level 79 Sorc in Act 1 Hell.

I bought and sold Grinding normal weapons, and the sell price was lower than the buy price (even with Gheed's).

Is it level-dependant (which I suspect, my guess is that when buying it looks at the mod "Grinding" and when selling it looks at damage), or so normal weapons simply not sell well with this trick?

If blizz even bans one person for doing this trick, but doesn't ban all those people using spam bots and maphack and pindle/meph/shenk/eldrich/etc.. bots and all the other real hacks, I'll be pissed. (especially if I get my acct banned...for exploiting a bug to get more gold...lol)

I think the worse case scenario would be that blizz fixes the bug and no one will be able to do it anymore. They wouldn't ban anyone for exploiting this stupid bug...maybe give people that do it several times a realm down or something.

Don't forget to sell using "sell" button, dragging and dropping won't work. Yes char level is factor, because grinding and fool's give more max to higher lvl chars and that what is affecting sell price. Normal weapons do yield profit it's tested. But certain combinations of prefixes yeild more and some less just get more weapons and try it out. So far the best i got with gheed and selling in act 2 was just over 17k gain per transaction (grinding long war bow).

best I got was 6k but I'm too low lvl to gamble anything nice so I didn't spend much time on it, and account banning is unlikely unless you used bots that affected realm stability

me and my grinding ancient axe are making a nice profit at 18k per sell :)

oh boy, ellys in the thread. something tells me the hammers gonna come down!

hacker ^________^
Yeah, I hacked that thing right out of Halbu's clutches. I've actually gambled a highlords amulet, and some sweet mf/resists boots with the profit.

But yeah, I guess I am a hacker and a cheater and whatnot. Elly should definately ban me.

Been gambling amulets exclusively - got some decent +3 skills ones, that's it. Getting 14k per sell in a2 with a Grinding war scythe (i think).

Nice little bug. Looks like it still requires patience, just like regular MFing but it would be a nice change of pace for some.

Found a great maul that makes 4k profit. But it's boring and slow - my goldfind char makes more money in less time and is more fun to play...
So, stop this tomfoolery, socket everything with Lems, and go out and play!

Found a grinding dimensional blade that gives about 22k profit.
I'm thinking that if you put the same weapon on an even higher level character it would profit even more....
But it is darn tiring doing all that clicking.
