WitchyZon - New Journey!

To my taste, being a glass cannon is a matter of style for a bowazon. I usually don't add too much into vit. Something like 800 life is OK for me. Once the str reqs are met, all the rest beyond that goes into dex.

The meteorb sorc is your most efficient item finder, i.e. she's good with basic gear and is quick at producing loot. Even better, there's a lot of sorc gear which makes her strong and adds lots of MF, like Tal's set. For a meteorb, I would go with full Tal's because it adds to cold damage and reduces enemy fire res. Everything but the armor can be found at hell Meph. She's very good at Pindleskin and the Ancient Tunnels. Those few fire+cold immunes are to be killed by the merc... or you ignore them by teleporting away if that's too tedious. Pindle cannot be fire+cold immune because he's already poison immune and more than two immunities aren's possible... except monsters in Über Tristram, but this seems to be about single player.

The problem with self-sufficient melee characters is always the weapon. In case your barb finds a Steeldriver, that's the weapon that will bring him through nightmare when upped to exceptional! Its -50% reqs make it rather easy to equip which is a great advantage to e.g. Bonesnap, apart from Bonesnap having no IAS which is bad for WW because only on-weapon IAS works on that skill. Upping Steeldriver to elite might be an option once you reach hell mode, but I have no experience with that... I'm not playing untwinked. Bonesnap is still good versus act bosses (not using WW, but concentrate) because of its chance to deal crushing blows. Just don't upgrade it.

A lightning trapper is excellent versus non-immunes and you can also invest into fire blast which receives synergy bonuses from a few lightning trap skills and vice versa. Infinity will make things easier, but it will take too long to find the needed two Ber runes in order to achieve effectiveness at the same time.

Maybe I should revisit the sorc, got most starter items for her now. Could even respect via kadala to a blizz/meteor since I recently found a snowclash belt.

As for the barb, I do have a steeldriver (ironically found by my sorc lol), just not upped and getting another pul is now a helluva task.

Ughh, lots to try tonight after work. Can't wait...

Looks like there's no point in running Players 2-8 for better drops. I spent hours of grinding with zero drops. Then switched to P1 and got 5 uniques in 30min. Thought it was a fluke and raised it back to P8, did a full clear of Lower Kurast and nothing. Back to P1 and boom, 2 uniques in 10 min. Could still be just a coincidence, will keep going P1 for now.

So far a couple of decent items today:

Arachnid Mesh - Duriel kindly gave it away - first kill for this toon.
2nd Raven Frost
Heaven't Light
Demon Limb
Crown of Thieves
Stoneraven M. Spear

Slowly getting there. Can't wait to finish Hell so I can start farming lvl 85 areas.

So, I've been running pindle hell for a few hours without much luck:

Best rune: Mal
Rarest items: Tal's mask, Griswold's Redemption, Aldur's Rythm (3 os).

According to drop calculators, it's easier to find specific items on lower difficulty such as Baal NM. So, if I go self found and want a particular item, should I drop to NM? The dufference in odds seems to be significant 1:1k vs 1:32k

Did 100+ Pindle runs with my windy druid @375% MF. Can't seem to be able to make an efficient sorc with decent MF and killing speed. Notable drops today:

IK gloves (that makes 3 IK items so far with the boots and helm)
Natalya's Boots
Duriel's Shell
2nd Wizzy
Windhammer
Goldwrap
Gheed's charm

No runes above Ral, need to run LK for those with my Witchyzon.

Got about 40 Pskulls now, looking for white/rare diadems to imbue/reroll. Probably a waste of mats.

Sweet juicy justice! Just found an Ohm in the Pit on P5 with my Windy Druid! That's 3 HRs in 3 months, 2 of them in one week!! Haven't seen a single white diadem so far in all my lvl 85 runs. Are they really that rare??

edit:
After taking a closer look at the runewords, would you guys recommend making a Chaos (WW sin sounds very interesting) or Call To Arms (beneficial for more than one build)?

On second thought, maybe I should just wait for a Jah and go the Faith route with my zon? So hard to decide when you only have one rune lol. I read a lot of guides where all these guys slap zods right and left on second grade weps - gives me shivers. If I ever find one - will probably celebrate for a week!

you could be waiting forever for that jah, unless you trade for it. Zod even longer, lol

For the Trap-Sin I have liked to use Crescent Moon in the past as the Ber's are so hard to come across.

#1 It makes your lightning sentries HUGELY effective due to its large -Lightning Resist
#2 Its Static Charge cast chance can makes boss fights faster and its Chain Lightning is good everywhere else.
#3 It is fairly inexpensive to make and can be made on an Ethereal Ogre Axe using socket quest as it only takes 3 runes instead of the 4 which allows you to save that 1 Eth CV for a different runeword.

#1 Traps are minions, so CM does not work for them https://www.purediablo.com/forums/threads/crescent-moon-runeword-for-trapsin-and-merc.717073/

#2 CL dmg from CM is not high at all since it is not synergiezed

My killing speed increased greatly when I made that polearm. I really thought the CM helped the traps. So much for my plan for a cheap polearm to get me thru until I could find the trade goods for the Conviction Aura on a hardcore trap-sin next ladder.

Well it has decent enhanced dmg and also the chance of cast static field is not too bad either :)

You could get a lower resist wand, but its somewhat quirky to use on every pack

Another Pindle session @ 410% MF:

Mara's Kaleidoscope
Blackbog's Sharp
Butcher's pupil

Runes up to Ko.

Also did a few Pit/LK/AT runs at P5 - got a few decent whites like Archon Plate, Collossus Blade, Monarch.

40 more pindle runs @450% MF - nothing
Followed by one NM baal run - and a war traveler drops from a minion lol. This game is amazing!

A few days ago I got 4 Guilliams face from 40 Andariel runs after a cold streak of over 1000 runs hehe

40 Pindle runs takes like 15 minutes?
I wish it took only 15min. Without enigma it takes my druid 1-2 min a run :(. I stack up MF which lowers the killing speed significantly. Could probably do under 1min without MF

Why would enigma lower pindle run time? You can't teleport in town and the distance from portal to the temple where pindle spawns takes 3 seconds for any char to run to.

There is a balance of MF, player setting and run speed. MF has diminishing return on rare, set and uniques. 150-200% is usually enough since you can't sacrifice too much killing speed in order to be effective in the long run.

100% MF yields 71% more unique items
200% MF yields 111% more unique items (increase of 56% compared to 100%MF)
400% MF yields 153% more unique items (increase of 115% compared to 100%MF and 37% increase compraed to 200% MF)

And we have not discussed how player number settings affect drops yet.

Sounds good, will test tonight at lower MF. Does P lvl really affect the MF%? Atmas drop calculator shows no difference between p1 and p8 when running bosses and superuniques. Am I missing something?

Do a test yourself. Count the number of items dropped on average over, say, 50 Pindle runs at players 1 vs. 5.

Also count the time how long the runs take in total.
