Why don't you PvP?

I PvP-ed with 120-150 ping during 90% of my pvp career. So I'd say that kind of ping is enough for fine PvP experience. But having 100 ping or less, or even sub 80, seriously, that feels like you are the host, and not someone else. Best host I ever experienced was FoE hosting via hamachi, had like 100 ping most and I felt like a king on it.

Yeah I remember my ping was about that during my bnet years and it was more than fine. I've no idea what my current 4G mobile stick could offer, but the former was too bad for sure. Now I can at least watch some streams etc, so maybe I could play too..

I only once joined a pvp game with my completely fun made charger build (PvM) and I can't say, it was fun.

What I do not like is let's say the "battle arena". Spreading anywhere to blood moor reminds less of a pvp battle and it's extremely annoying against characters that you can barely approach anyway. If there was something like a more limited space it would much better in my opinion but the most annoying part is those spikes and the lag that makes anything besides single player very unplayable.

Yeah, lag is what mostly interfered with proper PvP. That's why having option of a great host is indeed to be hyped about now. Everything else can be worked with.

@Excalibur The thing with D2 PvP is that with no space everybody kills everybody in less than 20seconds if the space is too small (Arreat Summit for example, is the best example of an arena I can find in D2).

If you mean something in between, I don't remember any good example. And being close to a town or WP is a must.
Maybe the central part of CS could be cool (I don't remember atm, does Diablo kill also opens a TP?).

150-ish ping is bearble, ideally sub 70.

I like the initiative to bring more people in, I should really start playing again and get my other PvP chars ready.

@nulio I don't think it will be that bad. An area like arreat summit would still offer you plenty room to run around. And in any case, isn't that the purpose of a PvP? They need to end fast instead of waiting the last players to chase each other to join the next round.

Diablo doesn't open a Tp and just like you said being close to town or a close WP is a must and unfortunately none is doable.

I'd love to pvp more, but living in the US makes getting to the pvp games on time a little hard. I can only get there by around midnight CET.

I think we generally need more 1v1 matches. FFA can lead to players waiting for others to finish the dueling, but in general it doesn't take too long. Also having small space for battle is bad idea. PvP is about strategy and challenge, and most strategies are not viable in small space. Trappers would be too strong for one, bowazons too weak.

I haven't played pvp in years. I was pretty terrible at it back in the day. Maybe it's time to give it another shot.

Because I am against time traveling and atma bugging so I wouldn't stand a chance.
1) This ^,
2) I don't use RWM,
3) I live in a shitty country where internet has an outrageously low speed and keeps disconnecting, that's also the reason why I've never played on battle.net, doing a simple gaming session of ten minutes without being killed by mobs during lags was merely impossible.

I like what you did Grip. :)

Btw later when? Something more specific please. I checked in right now and no one was there. I'm going out and will be back in 1-1.5 hours. I would play today.

I'll update the PvP thread in the next days. So if you guys me to add your chars there please post.

I like having a complete list there because it helps knowing who is who faster. :)

I pwn too hard and feel bad about everyone losing. Also, I am usually working when the Europeans are playing.

I don't PvP because I don't have any chars for it, gear for them.
