Re: Ultimate Throw Barb Handbook V1.00 By Penguin
They are 14 IAS 40 enhanced damage jewels and they are very hard to find. Maybe someone can post good farming locations?
They cost about 5-6 hrs IIRC for one on ladder, and I believe they are duped but safe once you put into armor/helm/weapon.
Overall, I had a few probelms with this guide. For instance, it claims to advocate non-cookie cutter status, yet enigma and arreat's are favored. Enigma is about the most cookie cutter item in the game. Also, putting in just enough str to wear gear is what almost everyone does.
And bo....I'm likely the only human being now to build a barb who does not put any points into bo. Bo is VERY cookie cutter.
As with many guides, I found some of the advice a bit too scattered. For instance, skill points put in everywhere and all sorts of mods are deemd great when it may be better to prioritize and miss out on some mods for the greater good. You can't have it all in d2.
For instance, bloodfist good all the time? There are certainly better things to wear later on as bloodfist are pretty low level gloves. Plus, is FHR really needed at all on a non-melee barb? You're not going to be at the front lines getting hit all the time so I figgure this mod is nearly useless.
I still don't understand why everyone is so against str. I've been putting 4 str points each level into my throwbarb and I'm noticing very nice damage increases which is only going to get better with more levels and better ed gear. We're talking significant damage increase. Just 300 points in str is going to be like having an invisible fort on.
Anyway, throwbarbs are not exaclty the little guy that people use to make a nerfed and challenging character. Maybe in PvP, Idk, I never duel. But in PvM, throwbarbs are amazing and can do massive damage AND can do chaos runs with no worries about IM.
