Treachery based ma sin

I just started playing again for the 30th time and this time I want to play an assassin.
I was thinking about maxing phoenix strike and claws of thunder for crowd control and damage, put one or more points and shadow master, some in block and max claw mastery, maybe a point in death sentry just for the fun of it.
With treachery I get fade and venom so no need to place points there. Plus a huge 45% faster attack speed, some skills and fhr
If i get goblin toe and some good blood gloves I get around 35% crushing blow. So she probably would have no problems with immunes.
Cloak of shadow a group, get some charges with cot and ps, if needed cobra and throw them away with normal attack or a finisher. If they're immune to lightning use ice shards or meteor (maybe too low damage) or pick them out with cb and venom.
The question is: is it viable in hell? Treachery don't give any def bonuses so I might suffer from getting hit alot. But i thought that a freeze merc, cloak of shadows and chaos ice bolts would take care of that.

I wouldnt relly on those small chances to cast those skills... 5% chance to cast fade seems too risky. If that was enough, i would use atma's scarab and relly on the chance to cast amplify damage on a pure physical damage char...

Well, thats right, but it'll be hard to play anyway... Maybe if u get a SS things would be easyer (Damage Reduction, Chance to Block - above 70% - and some good defence).

You'll play tactics... Thats nice, really!! Just dont you expect this char be able to rush another: Yet you couldnt or the one being rushed should have a lot of patience and time to wait...

Unlike Amp, the Venom and Fade both last for a while, so it does work. However, I would put one point into Fade just so you can have it active any time (just in case it doesn't trigger).

The one thing I'd look into is making sure that your attack speed is decent. Also throwing in some Mind Blast will help (along with some FCR).

I do that on my zon and it works. And don't forget dracul's grasp on zealots....... The difference is though, for fade, you need to be hit, and an average of 20 hit per 1 trigger is a bit......low.

Anyways, you probably want 1 point as said. You always cast the low lvl until the high lvl triggers, and when it triggers, it will override the lower lvl one you have, so you basically lose nothing (except 1 skill point).

You mean, the atma's scarab thing? Is it a bow zon? If it does, dont forget you may stand a non-melee distance from your foes, firing lots of arrows per second, wich makes it easyer to trigger the skill and less dangerous for you, because you can run before being in the enemy atack range...

Of course it is a bowazon. The main issue, as I have stressed, is attacking enemies and being attacked by enemies. On attack, it is something like 5 attacks per second (minimum), so it gets out pretty fast. On being attacked, most likely your character is not going to survive 20 hard hits. If it does, you don't need fade anyways. Anyways, using 1 point then wait for the 15 pointer to trigger is not a bad choice though, especially if you melee, since you get hit often enough that it happens. That was my point.
