'Three Way Dance II' - H.C 1.10 Tournament

No points earned last nigth, but an update nevertheless. I did play a bit, and reached the arcane sanctuary, and gained another lvl. Found a stormguild shield and a green armor on my way, so two new additions to the stash.
Also trying to keep the thread of the fourth page!

Mich - Necro (Bone/Curse) – lvl 36 – Act V Nml - 24 points

Franz - WP: Cold Plains - Last Quest: Cleared the Den
Mich - WP: Crystalline Passage - Last Quest: Rescued Anya
Theres - WP: Black Marsh - Last Quest: Killed the Countess

I have moved Franz through the rest of Act V. Just before reaching the Ancient Way I switched to a updraged and Shael'd Maul. Franz is now using War Cry and Berzerk the whole time. He does something like 700-1200 damage. With that damage he literally kicked around the Ancients. WSK wasn't much trouble either. The first 4 waves of minions fell quickly and easily. The 5th wave was a little more trouble. I always got knocked back when trying to hit Lister. But in the end he fell to my Berzerk.
Baal wasn't much problem either. He dropped only useless stuff.
The Cowlevel was a cakewalk (1-hit killing a p4 Cow).
I then entered NM and did the Den of Evil Quest to collect the skill point.

Wow I'm going really slow you guys

Nothing really happened so far, duriel was a pain as usuall so I had to bring the player settings down to /p1 for all three of them. I actually found a biggin's bonnet which will go in my stash but besides that all I really could use were all those chippies that dropped all over the place. Strangely enough Sun is allmost one whole level in front of Moon and Earth (she's about 150 exp away from leveling while the others just gained a level) while she didn't do anything special.. Good luck out there ! :)

This post is part bump, part update, and part desire to rub my irish luck into your collective faces.

Oh, but first...my apologies to Nemar. I posted earlier that I had the highest level average of all players, which is untrue. Nemar, who has finished, has his characters on lvl 86/86/84. As of now, I have my characters on 86/86/82, so I am catching up, and I'll definately pass him assuming all my characters survive against the Ancients.

Nothing really to update as such, except the extra 2 levels on Galadriel. But there was one item update worth mentioning. I had a rather hectic schedule yesterday, yet somehow found half an hour to push Galadriel across to lvl 86. First Mausoleum run, 3 bosses in...Grandfather.

So everyone is now playing for another Doombringer, and Boromir has equipped the Grandfather and does something like 3500 max damage with Concentrate. Not bad for a Barb with no points in Sword Mastery.

I had to earn that Grandfather, though. The boss before the Grandfather drop was Might-enchanted, and a misplaced teleport and a random zombie I didn't see nearly 1-hit KOd poor Galadriel. Not a mistake I'll be making again any time soon. Thank heavens for Mana Shield.

Still deciding what to socket the Grandfather with. I have no decent jewels to speak of. Yet.

Some more progress made. Sara is now most of the way through Act 1. She has rescued Cain, fought her way through the Countess' tower and retrieved the Malus. She is now reached the Inner Cloister waypoint, and is getting ready for Andariel.

Picked up Aldur's mace along the way, too.

Closing in on the 113 points I made in the first tourney - I must be getting better at this!

Hey guys and gals :)

Decided to move Cristahlia, the Amazon further than the Outer Cloister last night and got her through the Jails and into the Inner Cloister (finally). On the way she picked up a level and nothing of interest (how apropos). I'm thinking of doing some Countess runs again for more runes, as I don't really have an expansive or expensive collection at the moment. I have had more success cubing runes than finding them although that is what I expected.

Hi everyone,

had a lazy weekend, so plenty of time for DII. All my time was spent getting Morpheus through act II and III at absolute crawl speeds. Oh well, he is very very safe still, so that is also good. To get a bit of speed out of my game play i turned it back down to players 1, thus earning hardly any XP whatsoever. I did (offcourse) find a good meph map, as well as an excellent map to run the sewers lvl 2 under kurast. This i promptly did for only 10 runs, on players 8 netting me a few more runes with a Ko, Dol and Lum as best results.
I'll probably spend another few hours there just to get more runes and hopefully a few items as well. I must find a place to level Morpheus with some ease, but that will probably involve finding some runes and socketed items first so i can make him a good weapon.
Interesting things along the way: Basically nothing. I did manage to improve my defense a bit, by changing my gloves, but i still have my old armour with a defense of 385 (it does have + def/lvl, so improves a bit). Not very good for a Iron barb, at all. So looking for a bucket full of Um runes, for Gloom/Stone armour, and for crescent moon weapons for both him and his merc. One more Ko and a Mal for a sanctuary shield would also come in handy. And offcourse the runes for a delerium helm for his merc. As you can see a shopping list big enough to keep me running the Countess for a year.
Oh well, right now he has around 7.500 def, 65% block. Most normal monsters have ~10% chanche to hit against him, but i think that if he levels up a bit that may drop anyway.
Anyway, I think everyone will go forward and see what the hellforge will drop, and after that I'll decide what to do. Maybe Diablo runs, or leveling Morpheus in some way.

Sara has continued her way through, and completed Act 1. Andariel managed to kill her merc, as I couldn't be bothered using up the rejuvs to keep him alive (particularly given that I would dump him straight after). The valk didn't have any troubles surviving.

I also pushed her through to Radament, which she killed easily, so I've only got to get past the Summoner to surpass the 113 points of last time.

I will leave this one up to Psycho, but I will be unable to play or update my characters for this tourney for some time. I don't have access to my computer right now so I can't send my prize stash.

@Psycho

Could you change the status of my players to semi-retired until I return.

There's no rush, remember ;) ?

And your team isn't dead yet so there's no reason for you to be sending a prize stash to me either :)

Keeping out of range of Psycho's progress with this update, and gaining honours of the highest character level average of all teams in the competition (assuming Nemar hasn't been levelling his after finishing them).
I've also corrected something of a misunderstanding with the Acts my characters were up to...no, I was not in breach of the rules. Galadriel was in Act III for most of the end of last year, running Meph, and the other characters were right at the beginning of Act II, so they were still within an act of each other.
It's something of a loophole I've made use of consistantly through the tournament, because I like concentrating on a single character for an extended period of time. Switching too often throws me off balance.

Now, though, both Boromir and Arwen have completed Act II, allowing Galadriel to progress through Act IV and pick up those 2 bonus skill points. For good measure, she attempted to slam Diablo yesterday evening...and failed!

She was turned back by Infector of Souls, who drained all her money from merc revives and left her with a line of 4 Full Rejuvs and most of her skin, after chasing her in circles around the CS for 15 minutes. After another less spectacular failure at the Hellforge (Hephasto was might enchanted, extra-strong extra-fast, prompting a hasty save and exit), I was simply out of time and too frustrated to continue, so I pulled her out and gave the game a break.
I attempted to gain revenge this morning, and was more successful, and Galadriel is now ready to tackle the final hurdle of this tournament. Just as soon as she gets her gold back and finds some decent equipment. Diablo didn't drop much though, just unique Light Plate and some crappy rares. A Stormshield was a nice find in the River of Flame, though none of my characters can use it.

I'm also having some problems with strength levels for Arwen, who had less than I thought and has no hope of equiping the Lionhearted Shadow-Plate. I may have to use the 4-socket superior Ancient Armour (the one with more defence than some suits of Sacred Armour) for Stone, just because Arwen can't wear much heavier. At most, I think I can get her strength to the required 170 with charms and a rare ring, barely.

I've done it! I'm officially done better with this team than the last one. My real challenge now is to get one of my characters further than last time.

Sara has defeated the Summoner, and is now hunting Duriel. Quite an easy go of it, as she made her way through the desert, past the maggots and into the viper lair. No problems there, and she was soon into the Arcane Sanctuary. As per standard, she only got the Summoner on the fourth arm that she tried, but he was an easy kill. She's upped a few levels along the way, and is looking strong. I've decided to go for strafe ahead of GA, and it's looking like a good decision at the moment.

Congratulations Mage11,

Going well, and improving over last time. I think you'll make it a lot further with two classes that have a strong summonable, and some form of crowd control for your assassin, and ranged attacks for the amazon.

For my progress:
Played a bit on friday afternoon, coming home a bit early after doing overwork every day before that. My girlfriend was off guard by my move, and thus out walking with the dog, leaving me in a quit house, with some time to play. So a few more Kurast sewer runs, but they were too boring for me, so i started The Merovingian, my summoner, and went out on the plains of hell. Allthough my progress was slow, everything got killed easily by the army, with might and amplify doing their job. I forgot for the first half hour that i could also summon revives, so when i finally remembered, it went a lot quicker.
Onwards along Izual, the hell forge (dropping a Io, and i picked up a Lum along the way), and into the chaos sanctuary. The act bosses were easy, since i had tuned my players setting down, not wanting Diablo to spawn with a million hitpoints. Diablo himself managed to kill two skeletons before biting the dust, dropping a nice butchers pupil, that i am not allowed to use. Next to it lay a shiny blackthorns face, which may find it's way to morpheus giving him some lightning absorb, and slow. For now it is assigned to The Merovingian's Merc.

Not wanting to ruin my possibility to run the kurast sewers a few more times, I stalled the Merovingian, and continued with Persephone. She is still killing stuff very quickly, and thus also went through to izual (cold mastery now at 17, incl. + skills, working on fire tree now). After that the hellforge dropped a Pul (my second) getting closer to the Um i really want.
She also continued and killed Diablo, picking up a bunch of blues and rares, for more cash to gamble with.

Plans for the future: more kurast sewer runs, and then progressing Morpheus towards act V.

Bump and Item update only, but it's a good one...Windforce, and another Horizon's Tornado to boot, in successive runs. M'avina's Caster dropped...I dunno, sometime over the last few days.

Good work, Gouda, strong as ever.

Sara has slain Duriel, and progressed to Act 3. As per his standard, Duriel didn't drop anything. However, Sara picked up a white lance along the way (going through the whole of Tal Rasha's Tomb to find the stupid entrance to Duriel's chamber), and decided to use one of her imbues on it. She got only minimal ED, but some IAS and leech made for a better weapon than her current one. It also had decent lightning damage, which will be helpful for PIs. I will continue with her, and try to take her to Travincal before returning to Klaudia.

Hi everyone,

played only an hour (maybe even less) yesterday, but managed to get Morpheus another level, running the kurast sewers first a few times and after that venturing out in act IV. Clearing the first plane(of despair?) on players 1 was easy, but i had to stop after that to go back to RL.
Still, managed to get about 4 mill. xp so i think i'll do that again, since it is less boring then running sewers and actually gets me somewhere (in xp).
Hopefully on a higher players setting, but we'll see how he survives.

Also switched some equipment about in work today, swapping Morpheus' armour from a 388 defense rare to a plain 640 glorious ornate plate. Still shopping for a godly armour of something nice. Hopefully all works out, but as i only have ATMA in work, and have to calculate everything by hand. My resists may have sufferd a bit more then intended, but i'll swap some charms about if needed.

Franz - WP: Catacombs Level 2 - Last Quest: Found the Hammer
Mich - WP: Harrogath - Last Quest: Killed Baal
Theres - WP: Rogue Encampment - Last Quest: Killed Andariel

Time for an update. A lot has happened.
Theres killed Andariel (a few times). Franz made it to the Catacombs WP but hat to stop due to major resistance problems (Lit -3).
So after a break from DII I began playing Mich through the rest of Act V. It was easy going and I found some nice resistance gear for Franz. Mich is developing a heavy potion addiction. He especially loves blue bottles, red bottles are not his favorite. Next I will take Mich out onto the farm to make some beef.

Had to dig this one up from page 4.

Posting from home for a change, because of great progress. Well not in points, but i felt it was a great achievement:
My barb, morpheus went through act 4, without major trouble even. The best part of it was my hellforge drop; an UM!!! I love these things: Crescent moon, gloom and stone all need them. So one down three more to go :p .

Also bought two high defense armors (~700) so now both morpheus and his merc hit 10K defense.

After that he even cleared the bloody hills for one more point, and now clearing them again for some more XP. still playing everything on players 1 though.

the score:

Team the Matrix II (Gouda) – 153 points
Destroyer Morpheus - (Barb – Warcries/Com.Skills) – lvl 62 – Act V NM - just cleared the bloody hills.
Destroyer Merovingian - (Necro - Summon/Curse) – lvl 66 – Act V NM - not started.

Franz - WP: Arcane Sanctuary - Last Quest: Tainted Sun
Mich - WP: Rogue Encampment - Last Quest: Cleared the Den
Theres - WP: Lut Gohlein - Last Quest: Killed Radament

Mich stepped into Nightware just to clear the Den of Evil and get that additional skill point.
Theres did a lot of Andariel and Countess runs. She found a nice Amulet and Helm for Franz. In between the runs Theres killed Radament to get the additional skill point.
Then I started again with Franz. The original plan was to wait until Theres can get him a Smoke Armour for his bad resists. But the Countess wasn't very nice to me, so I gave Franz some resistance gear. His resists are now in the 60ties, except for Lightning which is at 55 (Beetles do really hurt).
After Franz killed Andariel he went straight to Lut Gholein to hire a Might merc for more damage. He currently does 1k-1.5k damage. With that damage I had a nice trip through Act II. He is now resting at the Arcane Sanctuary WP.
