Slow progress here. Esk made it through Act II but with a few NDE's. These all happened in the Viper Temple where everything is either cold immune or fire immune. The snakes and revived skellies were cold immune and causing real problems. I had to have 3 or 4 tries at it. I only managed it in the end with an orb with teleport charges on level 2, teleporting right into the middle, smashing the alter and getting the hell out of there.

Next up will be Conina, who should have an easier time of it. I'm really dreading Act II with Mort.

My mistake. I'm so used to ignoring the scimitar-class swords that I passed right over them when looking at weapon speeds.

Speeds are -20 (scimitar), -30 (cutlass), and -20 (ataghan) which all rate as very fast for druids. The only drawback is the two socket capacity.

I decided to put only 3 items of each normal unique/set items into the prize stash. I think that should be enough, and I don't think that I don't find this much duplicate exceptional and eilte price items.

Hias is progressing very well into Act V. He gained 10 levels since he entered Harrogath for the first time and found a lot of gems and some 2 Thul runes. Hias rescued Anya and killed Nihlathak without activating the Halls of Pain WP (to leave Anya's portal open). Next thing he will do is try to best the Ancients. This will be my first non melee character that reaches the ancients...

Finally all my characters are now destroyers and will soon kill the Cow King. No problems yet I have moved slowly and safe on players8 all the time. I had to park Lister and his gang with my bowazon. Couldn't kill them on players8. They healed more than I damaged them.

I didn't manage to spend much time on these guys, but I did get Starm started. She's now reached the Cold Plains waypoint and cleared the den. It's quite slow going, using a +2 cold bolt orb to kill most things. Blood Raven could be a bit tough, but it should ease up a little with a merc.

Herne had absolutely no problems during the rest of act 2. Those Dire Wolves are great. They even helped (along with the Carrion Vine) to clear out skeleton corpses in the tombs, depriving the resurrectors of their main source of power. However, the Vine only eats corpses if Herne has taken damage, so I deliberately caused him damage many times. :lol: Fire traps from urns, Unraveler spiky balls, beetle sparks, Ghoul Lord Firewalls, anything that was available.

I keep Herne in wolf form all the time, for the extra life (and it looks like he runs faster too, but I´m not sure). At this stage of the game I don´t really need it but I want to form good habits early. Otherwise I may not be ready when I need to be.

I put one point in Werebear for the Duriel fight. For once, I also cast my Raven and a Poison Creeper. We "pwned" /players 8 Duriel in short order. He mainly focused on the wolves, so I just replaced them as they died. After the fight, I looked at how much life Herne has as a bear when the Oak Sage is alive. 562!! In Act 2 Normal...


Elayna was next. Cloak of Shadows and merc easily took her to the Mephisto fight. There, the merc died quickly. I used the "moat trick" and started to shoot Mephisto across the lava. It was very slow going. I had to do something. Elayna portalled to town, strapped on her rare Light Plated Boots (for more kicking damage (these boots are to be upgraded to Battle Boots later)) and a rare Claw with life- and mana steal. She cast BoS, Shadow Master and Venom and put Dragon Talon on the left click.

Then she charged Mephisto with a scream and a lot of "Die bastard, die!!!"-attitude. It worked. :lol:

On to Act 4. No problem until the Chaos Sanctuary. There, I more or less relied on the Shadow Master and rapid bow firing (too scared of Iron Maiden to even get close to the monsters, as I might accidently click on one).

Her melee setup worked against Mephisto but I didn´t trust it against Big D, mainly because her lightning resistance was too low. I used the bow against Diablo (on /players 3) and recast the Shadow when needed. I fed the merc potions generously and he actually survived until Diablo only had about 40% life left. I continued without him but brought him in for the killing blow (to maximize MF). I also switched out my 40% Ruby boots (I bought them solely for this fight) for my Boots of Luck. Because of her bad resists, Elayna used Fade for the first time in her career.

I am really starting to like this character. She is developing into something that is good both in melee, with ranged attacks and as a caster. Versatility is her main strength.


Three useful items have turned up:

* I cubed a Savage Partizan of Alacrity. Guess what two of my mercs will use in the latter half of act 5?

* I imbued a circlet that got +1 MA skills, +8 max damage and 37% cold resist.

* Found a jewel with 11% Resist All and cold damage.

Hi everyone,

Final update before the holidays.

Not much happened, I tried to level my two new mercs a bit, so both Morpheus and Persephone explored the sewers. Morpheus actually finished it, but Persephone was too slow going on players 8, so no points for her.

After that i had the Merovingian explore lower kurast, hoping to hit lvl 30 in the process, but i was too tired so quit after having explored the entire map, but before lvl 30. Oh well, those revived councilmembers will do fine battling meph.

Finds: Hsarus' boots, for a total of 10 so far. I feel a bit unlucky, but then lot's of usefull yellows have dropped.

I'm very sad to report that the first of Team Undead has become fully dead. that's right folks, deceased became deceased last night due to a normal pack of those Lighning-ball-spitting-dog-things... it was really dumb. he waltzed around a corner looking for the last waypoint before taking on Andy, and instantly had 6 or 7 balls heading for him. despite 57% lightning resist, they all hit, and took him down to a sliver of life. i managed to pound escape - instinct took over - and he was still alive. i hit escape again and instantly pounded on the key to drink a Full Rejuv, but it was too late. ah well. you will be avenged, deceased!

in other news, Departed has been breezing through Nightmare so far. this guy has got to be the safest character i've ever played. with all of those tanks out in front of him, oak sage, and a defiance merc, he's got over 1000 life... its not like he ever gets hit though. :D so far everything has been done at players 8, except duriel and Andy, who were both done at players 3. he's wearing the Dark Clan Crusher (+2 to Druid skills) as his reward weapon, and has a nifty +2 to volcano three-socketed Antlers that is sporting 3X perfect topaz. this weekend i'll play Dead for a bit and see if she can't manage to catch up with Departed.

I had an amazing luck with runes in the past 2 days. I have found Shael, Amn, 2xDol,2xHel, 2xSol, Lum. Yay!
Also did some Andy runs with my necro that's why he has so many items listed by the finds :). My prize stash currently contains 133 items.

Three new Destroyers to report:

Angirasa (pass/jav zon): level 52..rouges camp NM...31 pts
Atharvan (sum/curse necro): level 50..rogues camp NM...31 pts
Yoga (off/combat pally): level 49..rogues camp NM...31 pts

All three made it thru Nml fairly easily. Yoga had the hardest time, using a store bought hammer, and a socketed long bow, to kill Diablo, Baal, the cow King and their minions. All three are now safe and sound in rogues camp, looking out upon the big bad world of NM, trying not to think too much about Hell.

Angirasa (the javazon) is by far the most powerful of the three, and spent quite some time doing baal and cow runs to equip her team mates with rare items, some found and some obtained by gambling her loot.

All three are now sporting shields socketed with p-diamonds, +1 circlets, and + 1 ammys, and their inventories are filled with resistance and dmg charms. Angirasa will prolly lead the way into NM, and end up doing countless pit and Andy runs in search of a decent rare weapon and unique armor for the pally. The necro is ready to go...but he has become so slow now, compared to his sterling performance in ACT I normal, through which he literally ran. Now its the javazon's turn, who with maxed lightning fury, can literally run thru NM--or should i say do 'runs' through NM. The team will spend a long time in NM to prepare themselves for Hell...which they will not enter until they are level 75+, hopefully with all of their rewards in inventory.

Exactly 50 set and unique items in the prize stash at this point, nothing notable tho. The zon so hoped that baal would drop a titans...he is the earliest mf target that can do so....but no such luck. He did drop a nice rare glaive tho, with + 1 zon skills and 189 ed! But the stack size sucks...which means lots of trips for repairs. Oh well, maybe andy will be nicer. Good luck to everyone...be safe and dont die.
 
I'm very glad now this isn't a race seeing how much progresss some people have made. (though after losing a char so early I'm pretty much out of the running anyway)

I haven't played in forever - urgh!

I managed to get Liselle through Act III, culminating in an anticlimactic battle with Mephisto, and an equally unimpressive drop. She's very close to Polgara in terms of raw power, and a little stronger against tight packs of enemies. She's already having difficulties against LIs, but that's what hirelings are for, eh?

I can see lots of shenk/elditch runs for her in Act V, since she can mow through large packs like no-one's business, while Pol and Zedar will probably stick with running Baal.

This, of course, is speculation, as they still have a long way to go....
 
As expected, Angirasa (javazon) pretty much ran thru Act I NM, and has been doing pit and Andy runs on 8 players. The pit is a piece of cake, but the drops havent been that great,...level 39 mobs, bleh. Ive found some decent sockables, but they are mostly normal weapons.

Andy on players 8 has proved to be a serious challenge. I am lucky to have a good map, which makes getting to her pretty quick and painless. But running her at this point is almost as expensive as gambling, cause my merc dies at least once per fight...course the drops make up for the expense, but still. And when my merc dies, my valk dies, so I tp to town immediately to revive. Otherwise with only 300 or so defense, Andy will cream me in a couple of hits. I was planning to go with a holy freeze or might merc, but now i am considering keeping my defiance merc from normal...cause the zon will definitely need the defense in Hell. I would rather have more defense and live, than more killing power and die. Of course, the holy freeze merc would be nice, but to kill effectively the zon has to get up close and personal with the act bosses to use charged strike, and without a decent defense she will be toast. Decisions, decisions...hehe.

The drops from Andy have been particularly....well...non-existent. Often i get only whites...no blues or yellows at all. And the unique drops have been very poor...better drops from the unique bosses around her than from andy herself. Sighs, and gets ready for a long set of andy runs...hoping for a titans, or an arm of leoric...which will prolly kill my necro in the long run, with its chance to cast bone prison upon being hit. Would it be fun to be traped inside a bone prison with a Hell flayer or a Hell stygian doll...with absolutely no bone attack? Hehe, i remember the day when my old SC summoner got trapped in a bone prison with Diablo Clone....'you have lost experience'...

Well all my three characters have now killed the evil Cow King. He dropped one set item and it was Hsaru's Shield. Other items that dropped was:

In my experience, javazons don´t get hit that often if they have good blocking and Dodge. I would go for Holy Frreze over Defiance, easily.

True, I wasnt taking into account the dodge capabilities...but even with level 6 or 7 dodge, she was getting whacked pretty hard by andy, to the point where she had to run when defiance merc died or she would die, even tho she was popping potions like an addict.

Her problem may be her shield, which is just a ' 3 socket large shield'--the type u can buy off of charsi in act I normal....lol, and it has a low chance to block...around 37% I believe. Need to change her shield, put in some more p-diamonds, and try again before I decide.

Also her armor plain sucks...still using a gothic plate. But its four socketed with ort, ral, tal, thul for resists, and I havent found a better socketed armor, or even a better armor that could be socketed, at least not much better....trying to save those socket quests till i really need em.

Ive used a holy freeze merc for my SC javazons in the past, but generally they were all wearing some relatively high def armor, like CoH, and using a nice shield, like Sanctuary...hehe, CoH is definitely out of reach here, and I would pass out if I found a "KO KO MAL" on this little venture. Its possible, but unlikely. Now a Duress or maybe a Lionheart runeword is possible, but havent found the runes yet...in fact the rune drops have been abyssimal so far. Beyond Thul the only one i have is HEL, from normal forge. So even Rhyme (Shael Eth) has not been possible. Drools over the thought of NM forge....maybe by tonite...

I'd go Holy Freeze. Liselle has one, and he rocks. He slows them down, Liselle bolts them away, and everyone is happy. With a Valk, she had no trouble versus Andy -- her low mana supply (about 120) was more of a concern, really.

I'm using a Rhyme Dragon Shield, which works really well. I've pumped her dex (she's got 151 dex @ level 52 -- I'm ready for Matriarchial Javs!), so she's got an insane block rate. INSANE!

I'm hoping for Lionheart myself. I've got the Lum, and am hunting for the Fal and the Hel..., maybe the forge...
