I've gotten all my characters up to act 2 now. My necromancer is about to enter the arcane sanctuary. Slowly making my way along with no problems. Not making much progress due to uni work and being to tired to risk playing hardcore d2.

EDIT: Changed my mind on the assassin. I am a newb at HC, so I'll stay with an "easy" character setup.

Success! Liselle and Zedar managed to kill Duriel. Depsite his low low level, Zedar had the easiest time. Bone Prison + Bone Spear = Trap of Doom!

Polgara gave up on Mephisto runs when she hit level 60. The last thing he dropped her as she parted was a Meat Scraper. That's chilling in the stash (hers, not the prize) for when she makes Conquerer.

Act IV was really easy for Polgara, with liberal use of teleport and frozen orb. Her hireling is fairly stupid, wandering off to view the scenery rather than actually attacking things that threaten his mistress.

The hellforge dropped a Lum rune, much to my surprise (as the normal forge dropped Tirs for everyone!), which will probably go to Lionheart armor for Liselle, as the two casters have Stealth.

Diablo dropped two uniques: Stealskull, and The Ward. Next stop in the three way dance for Team Eddings will be a double trip through Kurast and Hell, so that everyone can enjoy the scenic mountains of Act V together.

Well, since my last update I have played all three characters, all getting them a good run through the game.

Cain finished off normal and the cow king at level 50 from baal runs (actually not killing baal, just listers minions). He entered NM at level 50 and just went through fast on /players 1 because wasnt much exp. He now has donw radament and gotten a Might merc named the same name as his normal act 2 merc. He has level 24 Skeleton Mastery and Level 24 Raise Skeleton now. He is now working on Fire Golem and Revive.

Ormus also got level 50 and finished off his baal runs as well as the cow king. He also ran through Act I NM on /players 1 with no real problems. He has level 22 Grizzly Bear now which does about 1200 dmg also with HoV and Might.... probably looking at around 1600. In Weapon Switch 1, I use Butchers Pupil + Ancients Pledge Tower Shield, in Weapon Switch 2 I use a Upgraded Steeldriver which is now a beatiful 196%ed Steeldriver Martel de fer. He also beat Radament and still holds in Act II NM with Cain.

Atma has beaten all of Act II and Act III NM. There were no problems at all, running through them at /players 1 with my new holy freeze merc. She maxed Frozen Orb a little bit ago, and is now focusing on her lightning skills. She is at Mephisto now, which I have a shitty running map, gonna hope to do as many Mef runs as possible... I have around 200+ mf.

I should say at this point, just to clear things up, that the only reason I mark people down as being in Act I NM, is to enforce the fact that they are Destroyers. It also makes things a bit easier on me in the scoreboard. I trust you all enough to keep your characters within one act of each other, so ignore the obvious aesthetic flaws on the scoreboard, please :)

I moved my druid through Act I NM witch was very easy even on /p8.
He found a very nice +14 res all jewel and it'll be socketed somewhere in my equipment I'm sure.

About time for an update I guess....

Peanut did around 20 Countess runs before realizing how much trouble she was going to have saving all those low level runes, and that cubing them was pretty much pointless. She did manage to use some to make 5 sockets in a lance to make an 'honor' lance for her merc.
So, after Hazelnut finished act I (and Radament for the skill point) off charged Peanut through acts 2 and 3. Max FO still rocks everything, even on p8, and even with only 5 pts in CM, so it went by pretty fast. Did a few Meph runs but not much to report except she got the worst possible map I could imagine. I counted: 34 teleports from the WP to the level 3 stairs. She has found a few exceptional uniques/sets now (partizan, aldur's jagged star) but not much to report for finds overall.

Question: if we see sets that we have found lots of already (eg my 5th Cathan's Mesh) can we just leave them on the ground, or do we have to pick them up?

Not a whole lot to report. Players 8 is slow going.

Axe - Lvl 25 Druid (Shift/Summon) - 8 points - Act II
Claw - Lvl 24 Assassin (MA/Shadow) - 8 points - Act II
Mace - Lvl 26 Paladin (Combat/Offensive) - 12 points - Act III

Despite having the most hit points, Axe consistently came closest to dying. Until he got a case of rabies. On the other hand, he also found the most green/gold items.

Axe and Claw are both ready to kill the Summoner and Duriel.

* I may play the entire act 4 but will have to stay there until the other two characters have reached it. If you list where the characters are, the difference will still be just one act (they are in act 3, act 3 and act 4, respectively) even though (in essence) the distance is really more than a whole act.

* (An extension of the last variant.) I may move the front runner to Harrogath, but not out on the Bloody Foothills.

The only difference between the last two are
- Better/different shopping possibilties in Harrogath
- I can sell all of my really expensive items for over 20000 gold (up to 25000 for the ones that are worth that much)


I ask because two of my characters are stuffed with items that are worth >15000 gold (I have over a dozen gambled such Circlets, for example). I have stopped gambling circlets for the time being because it would feel like such a waste to sell them for 15000 when they are worth more...

You can go as far as the end of Act IV. Your characters must be all within one act of each other. Since two of them would be in act III, you could have your 'front runner' kill Diablo, and chill in the Fortress until the others got into Act IV, at which time you could take her on to Act V.

I've been doing this with Polgara. She's killed Diablo in NM, completing Act IV, but Liselle and Zedar haven't set foot outside of Kurast yet. :)

I'd say the first one (of the two I quoted), but I think I've seen people post that they were chilling in the town 'two acts' ahead. It'd be more convenient in other cases too -- like when you're running Mephisto with people in Act II, since the waypoint in the Fortress is much closer than the one in Kurast to your starting point... Might need to wait on an official ruling...

Yeah it's alright. Trust me, as a guy who has to sort all this stuff out at the end, you do get sick of seeing 50 or 60 set Masks and Rings ;)

you don't play the characters together, one after other but you can't play one more one act. if you start a char, he can't go to act III before the second char complete the act I !
