You can read a bit about the story at CNN.com. I've been following it as well. I was stationed not too far north of Malibu for four and a half years before being transferred here to South Carolina. Besides knowing several people around that area and in San Diego, I have an Uncle in the lower Los Angeles area.

Oh, I remember some of you mentioning the gold seller spam invites and the spam in town in WoW.
The UI addon "Spam me Not" prevents this, it prevents anyone below a certain level from sending you a tell, as well as block out messages from goldsellers.
Another UI mod called "AutoDecline" will auto block invites, duel requests, guild charter prompts, ets.
Both can be customized.

Of course not, it's not a national emergency. One of the articles I read this morning said that they've requested help from neighboring states though. I also read that units all over the states are getting ready in case they need to be deployed there to help.This is horrible. Some good news (for me at least).
The fire just north of the UCSD campus appears to have stopped spreading south. Apparently, there's a stream or some other natural barrier preventing it from going further south towards the campus. Hopes it stays there and not jump across. Can't say anything fortunate about the people north of the fire though. :undecided:
Edit:....and classes are canceled for yet another day.
