Games and real life ARE of course 2 different things. Nevertheless game behaviour in eny times, any cultures and even in eny SPECIES have a very serious function and very strong connection to "real life".Decebal said:

The difference is that gaming is much more safe than life. It is just this relative safety which makes it so appropriate "place" for different experiments and for testing dangerous things.
Killing monsters is a game, it is not real BUT everything we do directly or indirecly against other players - IS real because we are real. If somebodys account gets hacked or a high lvl hc char is killed by a pker using cheats - real people feel gets hurt.
I can´t see anything wrong in Krishan´s analogy.

Are high runes rare? Of course.
Is finding them as rare as stated previously? No.
If you just hurry and kill the Countess or Mephisto or Pindle... you'll find that you have a terrible chance of finding high runes. Sure some of these have the best possible rune drops, but what's the use if you only kill them once every couple minutes?
If you go to an area with lots of monsters, and you can kill groups every few seconds, that's so many more chances to find a high rune. I do a few Countess runs now and then (usually to find Amns and Shaels) and never teleport. I walk and kill. And although the best the Countess has ever given me is Ko, I've found 2 Guls and a Vex on the way.
As mentioned before, hell cows is a great place as well. That's because with quite a few character builds, you can clear hundreds of cows in the same time it takes to run and kill the Countess.
As far as cubing up, knowing how useful some high runes are, I'd have a hard time cubing up to the next rune knowing how worthwhile the two runes I already have are.

Though i beg to differ concerning behaviour in games and real life! Now dont get me wrong that i dont try to be nice against other players on the realms! I'm always nice to players who are nice to me and not nice against those who arent! And thats a fact of life! In real life we are nice against people who deserve that! Without prejudice though against people who I dont know! It takes time to learn how people are and how people behave! And thats very simmilar on the realms when playing LOD! Of course that i would like to play together with nice people who dont want to scam me or "steal" my items/drops! So far I can only play the game in that way with 2 -3 people only! And those people are friends! So the keyword is trust! It takes some time to build a trusty relation with someone who u dont know on the realms! And even then u cant be sure! Saw post were people got ripped by so called "trusty" friends when tryin to mule...even that is a good example how things work in life sometimes! People that thougt they were your friends betray you! That is a similarity! (1-0 to Krischan
) However my point is that LOD is still a game! So u get scammed u get hacked and lose items and accounts! But heck no LOD aint life! One can always manage life without playin LOD! I do anyway! There are other things in life more worth the time... like women, party and booze!!! :lol:

I see many people arguing how it's not THAT rare to get a high rune. However, the ratio of high runes dropped to characters completely equipped with godly runewords is ridiculous. I currently own a Hoto, CTA, Enigma, Fortitude and COH. As I stated before, the highest rune I've ever found was a single Gul. I made the Enigma and Hoto myself, but I didn't find the runes to make them, I traded for them.
If I kept playing for some more years I still wouldn't find the appropiate runes to legitimately create all the items I currently own.

What do you mean by that? that suddenly high runes are dropped only cause you have the godly runewords???
Of course u cant find those Hr to make the godly runewords u own at this moment! It's impossible to find ther runes to make all the above listed runewords! Trading for the is another story! Though u must realize that they are not legit! And other people on this forum who own godly runewords (not just one runeword) know this! It's a fact that when trading ists for a HR that rune aint legit! Apart from a very very very few!
And of course Blizz know this as well! They are not ignorant...but creating powerfull runewords the must have realized that mass runeduping will be performed....

You and your group of 20 buddies you know through B-net, decide to find the runes to make 1 legit enigma. Well, Ith is pretty much like spitting, sooner or later you'll hit one. Jah and Ber are the problem. So to defeat this, you all make a pact. All runes you find will go to a central place and be cubed until you get the runes you all need. From that moment out, you play together in 'rune games' with 5 players to a game. You kill all the monsters you can and pick up all the runes and other stuff you want. Now, odds of finding a Ber are about (literally) 1 in a million and odds of a Jah are only slightly higher. You all might get lucky and in all those games, you might find one of each..-OR- you will find tons of all the other runes out there and cube them up. I would be willing to bet that all told, maybe two or three months of trying is all it would take.
This however, is in an ideal world.
This is the world Blizzard wants. They have stated a number of times that they want folks to party up and work together. I dont think they wanted to create an enviornment where dumping is encouraged. I think they wanted to push people more into teamwork.
The reality I am afraid, is that it only promotes duping.

LOL, I have been playing since the first Diablo and this season on second ladder an OHM dropped from Baal's minions. I looked to the ground 3 times saying no way, no way, no way. Picked it up and sure enough the highest rune above a Vex (pit) I have ever found. So there is luck after all. The sad thing is that I did not need the rune but now I look at all the white items on the ground a little closer.

Now to find that Jah rune! Maybe consider trade for one...if u have the right currency! :howdy: I guees no one knows when lightning strikes...but if it strikes twice in the same spot I'd say play the lottery this weekend! Who knows maybe lightning can strike 3 times! :lol:
