Ran Andy about 5 times tonight, one notable find, an IK Belt, pretty useful for the dual res to fire and lightning, I'm praying for some Goreriders now though so I can replace my boots. I have done a few calculations and I can wear Goreriders and still keep maximum resists if I resocket my IK Helm with an Ort and Thul. Will try and be in Kurast Docks by tomorrow night :smiley:

Okay, Ive started my dwarf and can just delete it if the tourney is closed. But at least im gonna go with a berserker, trying to follow Nightfish's guide. Made it to lvl 9 and have just defeated Blood Raven. First time in HC so I will try to take it slowly and be sure to upgrade my equipment pretty often.

Found the Summoner on the 3rd attempt and by that time I was running around with my +warcry setup Howling at the ghosts to get rid of them as I was bored of killing them!
Plans for tomoro: Hopefully, I'll get past the annoying part of Act3 and get the Eye and the Brain.
Congrats greenmind, hopefully I have your luck with the ring if I get to Hell Baal, good luck in Hell, are you going to keep Baalrunning for a bit or are you moving straight into Hell?

With the first ring safely in her backpack, Sathien Greenleaf has dispatched Andariel in NM. Andariel went fairly quickly under the pressure of Sathien's Immolation Arrows. She dropped a Sigon Shelter (armor), but it is of no use. Sathien and the merc both have better armor than that. The merc has an ethereal Rockfleece and Sathien has "Skin of the Vipermagi". Andariel also dropped a nice long battle bow that was slightly better than her gemmed stag bow. Neither is good enough to last though.
Now it is on to Lut Gholein and a favor due a woman by the name of Atma.

IRoK Nulir the Dwarf 0 18 Lost CityGot past my least favourite part of the game, took about 1.5 hours, so not too bad, no good drops or anything notable on the way though. First time I've played since my last update, RL has been quite busy and had no time for D2 really.
I had no go through the Great Marsh en route to the Flayer Jungle unfortunately, but it was kind of a blessing in disguise. It has given me the chance to take on Gloams before Acts 4 and 5 and it seems I can handle them. Max resist, taunt and 3k life seems to be enough to cope with them, frenzy is also a good skill to use as you can cover a screen in no time and melee forcing them to stop using lightning.
Should have a good few hours spare tomorrow morning and evening before and after work so I should be able to push on and at least take down Mephisto, perhaps even get to the forge.

IRoK Nulir the Dwarf 0 18 Lost CityThought I would update now as it could be the last time Toimli is alive! :badteeth: Just about to walk into the Chaos Sanctuary, I have made some massive changes in this session as well, I am killing much more quickly now but at the cost of a little safety. Here are my changes:
Out: IK Helm, All res + Mf amulet, Mana Leech + res ring, Vipermagi
In: Rockstopper, Treachery (found a Lem at the Hellforge), Angelic Combo
My resists are now in the high 40s low 50s (except poison) before Fade kicks in, which isn't too bad I suppose. I now have 25% DR which is good, and I also have some FHR. My AR has been massively boosted as well. The main downside to the changes is a massive loss of resists, I had good stacked res before I swapped, which would have been useful against conviction, but I can always keep the gear in my stash incase I ever need it.
Hopefully I will be able to post an update later saying [H] Harrogath :grin:

I managed to do the Sanctuary without too many problems, I used the skills I learnt during NM Baalruns to deal with the OKs and they never once threatened me. I have only one problem at the moment, Fade never kicks in when I need it to. Every 5 minutes I need to town portal out and go to an easy area and run around til fade activates then run back and carry on!
I think Diablo was feeling generous as well, couldn't have asked for a better drop than this:

Toimli is now officially a Guardian, which happens to be my first too! :grin:
I started Act 5 about 2 hours ago and I have just defeated Baal now, no ring unfortunately but I will continue until I get one! Ancients were a walk in the park surprisingly, no rerolls either, one was FE but I got him down to a slither and let the merc deal with him, the other two were simple thanks to Decrepify and Holy Freeze.
I will post up a Guardian thread sometime this weekend, no time now unfortunately, hopefully I can start Baalrunning soon for the final ring. Btw, Baal dropped crap as per usual, green Long Sword and some other junk :sad2:

Think I may have a couple of days of D2 now, I've put quite a few hours into this character and I need a break! Just checked my first post in this thread and it was one month and 2 days ago, so I think thats pretty fast to get a Guardian, by my standards anyway. Just a guess but it has probably taken about 70-80 hours :shocked:

Killing these starts to become a routine, it's time for their lord. But, arriving at a fortress guarding the passage, a wise sage told them there will be another demon on their way.
I come with news of sorrow, our beloved friend Kali the dwarf, is dead.
I got mad at act 3 since i didnt find flayer jungle anywhere, had a bad spawn so I had to run through that other place, dont remember name atm. So I wanted to stress to mephi, I set /p to 1 and ran through most of the monsters, not really caring what happened on the screen, glaring out of my window while I played.
It went well, my lvl 26 barb didnt really get hurt from the monsters at /p1, but then in flayer dungeon, I leapattacked into a crowd of flayers, very very big pack, aiming for the shamans, then they all started to wack me and the shamans inferno were at last too much for my potionspamming to keep up. I had used all my rejuvs up =(
at first I though "crap, now I have to rerun from spider forest" and then I realised I was playing hc.. *sigh*
well, gl to all still in the tour, and grats to milb, that went fast

Sathien Greenleaf has defeated Duriel in NM at Players 8. The fire bow is doing well. Immolation arrow is nearly maxed out. The Valkarie is also getting close to max. Then it will be time to begin working on synergies. Probably concentrating on the fire skills.
When the team arrived in Duriel's lair, the Act 3 cold merc struggled to avoid Duriel and set up his usual remote casting point. Unfortunately, Duriel would have none of that. He relentlessly tracked the merc down and ate him. Sathien and the Valkarie were going to have to do this themselves. Duriel decided to treat the Valkarie in the same manner as the merc. But, the Valkarie did not run. Her attitude is to simply square off with the enemy and have at it. About five minutes later, Duriel died, and the merc was revenged. Sathien's mana potions and arrows held out, so they did not have to go back to town.
So far, so good. Now begins the long trek to reach Mephisto. It should be easy for Sathien, as long as Wolron doesn't do anything too stupid. Sathien is understandably worried.
