So back at it again after I got sucked into Dominion. With the free server down b/c the game maker's licensee's release of the online pay version, here we go.
This spot marks a depressing spot for my sorc, who I have realized that while she is perfectly optimized for what she does - all she needs it better charms, really - she is light years behind in character development. With my being out of D2 for two-plus years, I missed the rush of runes that 1.13 brought and the plethora of Infinity-based characters, etc. that have come out since then. Because she runs Waves 1 and 2 at /p1, she is now just under 3500 runs remaining for baal (Actually closer to 3,450, but who's counting other than my excel spreadsheet?), she is now where every other /p8 baal runner is when they hit 98.
I also hit this realization when I finally hit a perfect Baal map for my clvl 89 LF zon, made in the spirit of all those who have come before it. She's bascially missing only an Inifity - see below - and she'll be complete. Nevertheless, she's far, far faster killing the waves and Baal than my sorc ever could be, mostly because of her 55% IAS (hits both throwing and jab breakpoints) and -54% enemy light res.
To ease the monotony, I'm taking it 1M exp at a time with a goal to get at least that each day with 2M or more on weekends. When that daily goal is hit or I get frustrated, I'm running LK /w my Enigma-enabled 200 FCR singer barb. So far I've picked up an Ist, three or four Puls, and lst and lots of everything Lem and lower. I'm running for a Ber (to pair with my current Ber and make an Infinity thresher), Lo (Fortitude), and enough runes to make/cube up to a Death and Exile. I've got a killer Zealot planned a la Asmo's Shaefferdin that might me capable of running Baal with all the DS, CB and stupidly high DPS (Asmo had 248 ave weapon dmg /w 25% CB and 52% DS; I'll have on max ~360 to 390ish /w just shy of 100% DS and 75% CB - basically I'm really curious if the Shaeffer's ctc static field makes up the difference.). I what I haven't figured out is whether I want to pony up and get an v1.07 'zerker axe for the base weapon. If so, it essentially makes the Death dmg% roll above average automatically.
So I digress, but I'll get to 99 this year and retire one of my favorite characters, once and for all.
