Quick post before I head to the basketball game:
--The revised guidelines look great,
Ax. You might also point out that the 1-3 AM EST group won't be able to start until the current West JotH has finished.
--I may or may not make it on tonight depending on how late I get home from the basketball game and how sleepy my wife is when I get home.

(
tlaloc, I sent you a pm)
--I
may be able to play for a significant period of time during the day on Monday, as my office is closed for the MLK holiday. If other West JotH members are free, we could make a lot of progress. This all depends on whether or not my wife has to work, which is an open question at this point.
I don't think any JoTH is starting until west ends, to be honest. Dave's schedule is like working triple shifts right now, he most likely won't be available until next Friday, and Jester still appears to be trying to fix his system (you'd think he and Senff would be one in the same). I have no problem getting the other groups going earlier but I also haven't sorted everything out yet, so only if they nagged me about wanting to start ASAP...
There was no play tonight. At most four people showed, and only had three by midway. Hopefully, we can reach Radament by end of tonight's session, Golden Bird by the end of Sunday's and into A5H and beyond if we play a lot during Monday. A little much?

As an extension of this, perhaps it would be good to have them all able to autonomously clear certain high experience areas. An 8 player Hell Baal run will provide roughly 4-5 million experience in the late 80's early 90's. I, however, have recently been joining full public non-baal games, and getting 15-20 million experience per game, making for extremely fast experience gain. Assuming our builds could take this, we could have 1-2 people each clearing a high yield area, thus gaining more experience than if we all stick together. I suggest cows, Baal, and the Bloody Foothills. There may be more, but these are all high yield and fairly easy to access. With a whole group of people, we won't even have the problems finding full games that limits my speed. Survivability may be an issue that early in the season, so we may need groups of 2-3 in some areas.
I wouldn't recommend an Enchantress for the Countess--she's fire immune. Lightning works well, else we could raise mercenaries.
At high 80s and early 90s you clearly see a drop in experience gain. Highest levels in the game are 85 barring minions, champs, uniques, superuniques, etc. Already suffering from the level penalty and then from the experience calculation itself, even eight players consistantly clearing WSK entirely doesn't gain that much. Those specific early 85 areas can be fairly useful, but remember we are around 70, where the penalties start, and sufficiently enough below their level that we get only a fraction of their worth.
As for Countess, her minions are the problem. They are always cold immune, so an enchantress with a nice, quick merc can handle them after Static Field. Countess is a pushover unless she's dual-immune or laden with auxilary affixes, and even then a Life Tap wand for your merc usually deals with that. A pure lightning sorceress would get into trouble a bit more often just trying to level, much like a pure lightning amazon built for cowing, but I guess it's a matter of preference.

I won't be on tonight as I have to go to work at 6pm my time (work + cold = BLECH!). I'll try and get myself to Blood Raven tomorrow.
Just out of curiosity would anyone be interested in an "off-class" LS3 group on Asia? By this I mean a twinked (as far as that is possible at the early stages of ladder) group of the less popular builds such as Palazons (and other Battlemaid variants), Executerix Sorcs and other "novelty" (bad choice of words...in my experience some "novelty" builds, such as WWasns, are very strong) builds.
Some builds might include:
Pure Curse (and Bone Armour) Melee Necro
Any of the various Battlemaid Amazons
Any of several Melee Sorc builds
Pure Spearazon (Jab, Impale, Fend only)
Any of the dozens of other builds I can't think of ATM
Alternatively there is the invincible Amazon group, similar to the Immortal Paladin group (see my thread "Godly Zon Team" in the Amazon forum). This is made up of 2 Battlemaids, 1 spearazon, 1 Poison Jav, 1 lightning Jav, 1 Cold, 1 Fire and 1 Strafe/Multi/Guided bowazon.
Many of these builds are item dependant, hence twinked and starting at least a week late in order to get basic items. A major part of this group would be daily (wherever possible) Runebuses. Starting late does not mean the inability to attain glory. Sera_Braveblade, my beloved Palazon, was started almost 2 weeks into the current season (had to make a stupid MF Sorc) and made it to 4th on the Amazon ladder, top 40 overall, before I moved on to other things. Asia was also the last to get a 99.
Anyway, just an idea...
If you think your connection to USWest was bad, imagine mine to Asia. I can play west easily, Europe in a pinch, I suppose, but I'd never reach 96 on Asia let alone 99. With the latency issue half-way around the world I'd never get that potion off in time and would die too often to make Baaling worth it. There's a reason Asia had the last 99.
Of the many reasons I played in the USWest JoTH was that fact that I had to have an account there in order to utilize Blizzard's technical support. Since I had a starter I could add one character and keep it in mind. Also, without a serious stash of items I could practice my item-ditching. You see, I'm a bit of a pack rat, in that I have all these ideas for builds that take me a while to get around to, and with all the items in this game it's no wonder I have almost thirty accounts on USEast. True, with .10 I can ditch about a quarter of those items since they're outclassed even by ones I've already found on ladder, but that just means those builds are even more possible with the trade bait I've accumulated.
On USWest if I find a Herald of Zakarum I know one of the people I play with can use it better and I'll likely get a Jalal's Mane out of it; I don't have to horde. It's a totally different way of playing, to me, not keeping everything I find.
Your idea intrigues me, as I wanted to play an all-barbarian team when I first started, but couldn't get any takers. Things like that either go completely untweaked or completely tweaked, no in-betweens, and tweaked means USEast for me.
