Done a few stupid mistakes, especially back in 1.09. Had traded a zaka for pretty much everything i had of value. I wanted to mule it so i asked the guy i traded with if he could hold it for me while i switched char :hammerhead:
Died to IM once as i wanted to see if my barb could survive one hit. Ofcourse, the damage return was not 100% as i first thought :embarassed:

First of all, I want to say that alongside the post with how to craptalk as a dueler this is the greatest thread that is currently on the forums. I have laughed out loud so many times it's crazy. Some notables:
as for me, goddamn i've done so many dumb things in my day. let me recall just some of them:
1. having someone try to give me a deal on a 6 bo cta but I only saw it as 3 bo b/c my character was a barb. i yelled at him, told him to learn how to scam and he was like 'huh? what are you talking about?'
2. sold a 6/6/2 cta for cheap because i thought it was the battle cry that mattered, and i was like '2/4... damn, close' ahah
3. was perming a game to xfer myself: dropped a high gheed's, a 35+/390+ grief pb and a bunch of hrs and left after a minute instead. when i tried to re enter those dread 'game does not exist' words appeared and i died a little inside
4. used trade guides as trade manuals and made many a dumb trade =\
5. trade switched scammed: soj for manald, griff for mav's: if the offer is too good to be true, it probably is
6. torch + hrs for torch scammed. never drop trade w/ anyone not on the forums...
7. always delete battlenet randos off your f-list after a trade has been complete. one time i was muling in a game like fwing1/1 and the rando easily guessed the pw, came in and picked up a bunch of ****. when he realized i was muling JUNK JEWELS he msged me and said he was just kidding (lol AFTER he took my items). i proceeded to threaten to hack his account even though i have not a clue how I would even do this. when i realized my threats were too hollow i started to let him know i wished he got hit by a bus. anyway, i always have an unguessable pw on my game names now and no one knows it. i recommend this to everyone (no abc/abc or jaja2/2 games i'm telling you)
don't recall more atm and not that great, but most of my funny stuff is not really my fault ahah.

word. a thing to keep in mind is that when you up an item unid, it id's it. i tried to up an unid hoz and when i did it it was no longer red
if that was at beginning of a season or near, that is so, so painful

yeah man, sorry to say but it sounds like this jacking was well deservedOh hahahahah I forgot: like the 5th or 6th day of hardcore ladder, think it was season 2, I managed to grab "one of the first" annahilus that ladder, identified it and it was 20/19 or around, you know, just "ZOMFG, IaAMmm RiiIichHhhhHHHHHhhhhhh"
I was so happy and felt so ****ing godly I just had to enter the first trade game to show up, walk away to a pretty thrilling, yet also almost safe position, and dropped the anni twice (and picking it up deadly fast) just to read the extreme exaggeration of the noobs in that game (yes, this anni was truly the ****). I couldn't hold myself from doing it again, this time abit closer. So I held it, dropped it, and in the same ****ing second as I drop it, or a little before but not long enough before for me to notice it, a idiot starts to runm against me, It hits the floor, I get SUPER nervous as I realise I might lose this 20/19 anni, prolly top5 at the server at this time, and I ****ing misclick it when I try to grab it. And yeah, the noob comes up close and there goes the anni. lol. I was pretty young back then and was I furious or what? lol. the Razer-mouse barely survived xD
worth to mention is that by then you couldn't put anni/torch in trade window so this was only way to showoff

This is pretty serious, making me stop playing for a bit.
I was a lev 90 (almost 91) hardcore necro and I was happily in the bottom bit of the hc ladder! I only had to play a couple of solo chaos runs each day to stay on the bottom of ladder. So anyway, I got really impatient and did some quick jumping in and out of games for some trading even though I KNEW this would be trouble.
Well, you get 'tagged' for not waiting long enough between switching chrs and for making a game and leaving prior to 5 minutes. The game punished me by giving me a wad of lag, S&E did not work for this breed of lag, the screen finally goes black, computer is making grinding sounds, I get booted WAY the hell back to log in part. I log in to bnet, and my chr, my toon, is GONE. Invisible, but the name is still there. I go into chat and find I can't join or make games. I'm dead, apparently. I demanded people in chat to look at my toon, and they were shocked to not be able to see me. Blizzard kidnapped my toon!
Even though I saw no monsters on the screen when the lag struck, I knew this wouldn't have happened if I had not jumped in and out of games so fast. Still, it hurts because my toon became invisible, I don't think I actually died and that isn't fair. Blizzard just took my damn toon away and presumed me dead which had never happened before.
I think my problem was YEARS of watching ADHD kids jumping in and out of games, only staying for .5 seconds. I guess it grows on you. The good news is I play a lot, so even though I lost my arachs (on hc ladder!!), some pnb gcs, and sol um um ('bone' runeword), I was happy to play on softcore again which I find is more fun. Hc was a goddam ghost town with 0-3 games listed in hell mode. It's like playing single player. It's kind of good that I lost my hc ladder chr, but it sure did waste a lot of days playing!
But before I quit hc, I later made a hc singer barb and didn't bother to read up on the lightning enchanted glitched bosses whose lighting blood does way more damage than it's supposed to. My 3k life went down real fast in the plains of despair. My barb barely got away with his life by S&E. Then, you know what I do? I rejoin that game and try another shot at reaching those stairs to the city of the damned. The same boss waddles up to me and I give him another go. I figgured, surely, last time I must have had some lag and taken a few hits, that must be what hurt so bad. This time, I did not get away. My 3k life went all the way down to nothing in 2 seconds.
So that chr's deeds of valor would be remembered, and I was so close to the hell forge. Like I said, I play a lot, so I had some wealth piled up on mules. I made another hc chr. A strafer zon. Well, I was doing so well with her wf and atmas and IAS gear...but I had always played multi in the past though.
So I get to hell mode durance of hate with those dolls. Strafe lock was kind of an issue when this doll boss with a fanat aura flies over nose-to-nose with my chr and BOOM!!. Man, those things can cover a lot of ground.
So after that, I said you know what, none of this would be happening if my necro toon didn't turn invisible or get booted way out to log in part over nothing or if the lightneing enchanted boss glitch was fixed. The game is too stupid and broken to really play hc. So I went back to softcore and I'm having much more fun now.

I just spent ~25 minutes searching through my mules & stashes trying (and failing) to find a certain charm for a certain character. Of course, I'd already muled that very charm onto that very character. :doh:

Found a 2 Socket Staff + 3 Enchant (WOOT! Leaf!)
Put it in my invent, realised i needed room to pick up some uniques from MF run's, dropped it in Act 1 and went to Mf act 3 + 5.
Exited the game and realised "... ****. My staff'
Not to mention the name of the game was like 'q1341235135' so getting it was not possible. T_T
Also, found some nice Manalds + Rare dual leech ring off Andy once.
Had my other character in the game to make it perm. Then BOOM! Lag. Couldn't find the game.

When I leave game, switch accounts/chars and quickly try to rejoin game, I occasionally get a short realm down (lasts a minute or two.) It's short enough that I can get back into a mule game before it drops and the items are lost.
So the general procedure is to alt tab to firefox, wait calmly, and rejoin in about three minutes to pick up my items. Sometimes, however, I get distracted and don't remember to rejoin in time. I lost 4 or 5 hrs in this way today.
The irony? I was too busy reading this thread, enjoying your misfortunes. God damn it.

Though finding this thread right after that did make me feel a little better
EDIT: remembered another one. Spent 40 minutes getting an echoing glaive out of Malah and put it in the cube. Then some time afterwards put 3 flawless amethists there, opened it, and clicked transmute before I could stop my hand. Learned a new cube recipe.

I was about to mule some crap and i went to the stash and started throwing out stuff to mule.
And i saw all this new wonderfull space, hmm lets fill it with more crap and while the game perms i might mf.
Turned out to be a quite long run.
Then i started logging in with the mules/chars who should have the items one of them was my trist runner i went hmm WTF where are my keys.
And then i learned that keys are regular white items with a quite short expiration time so they had just poofed while all the crap uniques etc where still there.
Pitty where that they keys was the on´ly thing realy worth anything.
