Cannot Be Frozen

I rather like this armor, and got a nice percent. Any idea on what kind of build I should use it for? I like melee builds, generally, and would like a sort've wacky, difficult build, if anyone has one.

a melee ES sorc? seems pretty suitable because of the PDR and MDR
besides that probably a paladin would be the next best bet. but there are better armours.
you could always make a themed barb around being a gladiator and only equip with gladiator style gear. that'd be pretty cool

This doesn't seem all that great to me. Would'nt absorb and some DR be better? Upgraded shaftstop?

Course it's better than anything I have on SP. =)

Flat damage reduction (like "damage reduced by 20") has the big advantage that there's no cap on it, whereas % damage reduction and absorb are both capped (I think at 40% for absorb and 50 for damage reduction). If you combine them both you could produce a character who was near enough immune to anything!

TGB is all in all a very safe armor, and definetly worth using. The problem is that there are generally "better" items around. Although if i found that armor aswell as a shaftstop in HC, i'd probably use TGB for the protective stats.

unless you have a ravenfrost or other CBF gear (rhyme shield, etc), that's a great mod for melee- doesn'thelp against holy freeze, but anything to keep you from getting chilled otherwise is well worth it in my book. also- pdr and other reduction gear is nice (probably, I don't think I have any), but not necessary, unless of course, you want to do everytihng at higher than p1 heh heh...

The required character level is a big drawback for me. Most folks have a build complete by the time this armor can be used. The only thing it would be good for is a Baal runner. Socket it with P Topaz and the added MF is nice. Try it on a WW Barb or a Beserk Barb with Conc as a main attack. Or perhaps a thrower barb. That may be fun. The CBF is a nice mod.

I use a Glad's Bane on my hammerdin's merc for Baal runs. With a Vampire Gaze he has almost 40 Magic Damage Reduction, which helps keep him alive against gloam packs. (The Gaze is socketed with a Scintillating jewel so his resists are almost maxed). The physical damage reduction, Cannot Be Frozen, and Poison Length Reduction are just gravy.

Problem I see with it is that the level requirement. Unless you plan to take the character all the way, you are most likely finished the game before you can even use it.

You could more or less use it for any melee build. It works well on a Werewolf as well. Just focus a little more on damaged reduced by and you can just charge into any crowd and fury away.

I tend to think of it more as an elite merc armour though since they can't wear ravenfrost and resists don't matter as much to them.

I agree on most remarks. It is a good armor however for a Brickbarb going for high defense as well. Cannot be frozen is a mod I always try to give my mercs, even sacrificing resists or damage doing so.

Hawkmail or The Spirit Shroud look like crappy items (and they are) but that single mod Cannot be frozen saves my merc a lot while he tanks for me caster (who kills much faster anyway then your merc). If you make a merc to tank, not to only kill, its really a good armor to use.

a eth gladiators can be cool on a merc but i never use it on my chars

if i need the def then why not a `stone` - very high def...
the CBF is cool but i can get that from a raven frost
Res, were is the res???
mdr and dr is nice but i´d rather use a uped shaft any day if i needed dr.
the fhr is nice but not to big
poison length reduced is cool, but thats all
lvl req 85 - w00t

Yup you are right. Slap on that Eternity etheral giant thresher or something if you want CBF ! Dont use a TGB for that !

PlasticRage420, where did u get that Armour?

Little problem I see is that it is a Dupe, so its not good for anything :P

I know you didn't find it, so one of two things happened, you traded off a duper so you can tell us who it was or you downloaded it off the net. Infact I can even tell you the name of the download pack you got it from, but hey I dont need to tell you 'cause you already know :)

So where did it come from?

Do us all a favor. Keep any of this out of the channel and contact a mod. This always gets so ugly, I have seen a few of these.

Already have, just thought those who interact with this guy have a right to know.

Infact that item is not only a dupe, but it has also been modified.

The ED% on the download is 193%, on this one it's 195%??

That raises some more questions for me

Maybe it was found from a area_lvl 85 Champion...or Area_lvl 84 unique, or Hell Meph. I'd like to know how you found out it was a dupe.

It's from another item pack. The fingerprints are the same.

The Gladiator's Bane
Wire Fleece
Defense: 1462
Durability: 29 of 135
Required Strength: 111
Required Level: 85
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 99

+193% Enhanced Defense
+50 Defense
Damage Reduced by 20
Magic Damage Reduced by 17
+103 Maximum Durability
Attacker Takes Damage of 20
30% Faster Hit Recovery
Poison Length Reduced by 50%
Cannot Be Frozen

I'm assuming this is what he did.. The atma readouts are edited, but not the fingerprints. So it wouldn't be "exactly the same". But why didn't he just edit the fingerprint?

edit: noticed that even the other stats were not the same. How come his is near perfect? 195%ED, 20/20..
