Berzerk works like most other attacks skills. It's just that all physical damage gets converted to magic before being applied to the target. So yes, Grief will work normally.

Berserk is viable in PvP :D

Get the synergies on, get enormous resists, a shield and a lightning fast weapon. The shield isn't necessary.

One hit killer. Takes some skills mind, unless you don't mind teleporting after people. Then again, most pvp builds require some skill...

I made a berserker barb on europa ladder. it was so cheap! i used botd with 401 ed and it had around 7k average damage. it was rapeing anything at pvm but at pvp the problem is that u don have atack rating . if u can get nough ar it will be completely awesome.! mersi radule pentru ghid. e marfa rau. app io am pus 20 puncte in synergii si pe urma in axe mastery estul . poate asa e mai bine . nush. oricum bafta in continuare!

I think with the removal of IM in 1.13 the berserker build is going to significantly lose popularity.

although i will like the ez running of cs on my mffrenzier.

but zerk is for all PI not just for im.

what zerk bad ar?? are you mental? zerk had nasty ar alone, and masteries ofc, you should have upwards of 18k ar with hilords/raven/raven, no charms...
my hybrid ww/zerker has 52k max ar(lol gleglaws glove/shield, rare fools lo/lo grandmasters ba of quickness, angelics, hsarus boots/belt) and im going to add sigons armor,helm both socketed with pdiamonds. im hoping to acchive 70k.

I agree, berserkers will definitely not disseapear. Berserk is mainly the best against 2 particular situations, PI's and when IM is casted on you.

50% of the berserkers strenght is gone now, whirlwind is going to obliterate chaos sanctuary now.

the best way to beat a gm hdin is leap zerking. and conc is fun but zerk is just insane on how powerfull it can be, can anyone say 3 hitting baal?

Berserk does magic damage which is mostly unresisted in CS. Howl synergy -> Extremely fast CS runs.

It'll still be an awesome boss/key runner so far in the 1.13 patch.

'Course, you could hybridize and create a really nice Zerk/WW Barb to form VOLTRON.

i use a zerk/ww hybrid for pvp. he works wonders. he makes even the best work to kill me and they never kill me untouched, but when i touch it hurts.

where does it say im is going to removed in 1.13 anyway?

quick question magic dmg from weapons like azurewrath, those are also multpilied by zerk also right?

About the guide:

You forgot about a great deal of important things:

1. Berserk is a one target at a time skill. Swinging constantly means defense 0 all the time which leaves you blocking or recovering from hits quite often. Plus it still needs AR to score a hit and the attack can be blocked and interrupted. For that reason I think Berserk is a backup skill at best.

2. War Cry stun length must be divided by 4 on Hell difficulty. It's just over 1 second and it is worthless IMO.

3. Magic Immune stone skin bosses? You rely on what to dispatch them effectively?

4. Just a side note: Killing the Ubers with berserk? I'd like to see some videos cos I have very serious doubts it is an easy task with this build.

This is wrong. Stun length (from any skill) does not decrease in NM or Hell.

They are a little too rare to be worried about. There are only two different types of monsters that can be PI/MI (Plague Bearers and Wailing Beasts) and none of them are in really vital areas (Act 2 Lost City and AT, and Act 3 Temples).

Horadrim Ancients cannot be PI/MI. All greater mummies have a PhRes of 33%, which means Stoneskin doesn't make them immune.

83% PDR and using Concentrate against them is not a particularly efficient way of killing them is it?

But it is possible.

You could also get a Merc with Reaper's (which is not a bad idea for the rest of the game anyway) and the problem is gone.

This objection can be made to any Barb, since all barbs do is physical and magic damage.

Yes, but in the guide the writer should warn the unsuspecting people which monsters are dangerous to engage or impossible to kill with the build he's suggesting and list specific equipment required to dispatch them.

It's a 2004 guide, the author hasn't been around since 2007. I'm not sure what you are trying to prove with snappy comments like these.

Berserk is a viable PvM skill. You were wrong about the stun length. PI/MIs are not nearly the trouble you make them out to be.
