Team Speak
Team Speak: ability to do voice communication, helpful for many multiplayer games.
Benifits: While team speak may not really be needed for softcore, in hardcore considering we are mortal good communication skills to keep characters alive would be helpful.
I have used team speak while playing online games for the longest time and in fact I used to not even be able to do online gaming without talking while playing.
Speaking as opposed to typing will let a player be able to drink potions while they are enaged in combat against monsters. This also will allow for quick communication skills such as relaying what special attirbutes an unique monster may have that could pose a problem to your party.
My proposal is the following, is to set up a team speak server for hardcore players to use.
There would be seperate rooms (channels) for players to go in these would be registered rooms. Players would be able to create an unregistered room and once no one is in the room and you log off the room disappears this could be helpful for random X events etc.
There could be two different sections one for bananas and the Gauss members if Gauss doesn't have a teamspeak/vent server. Of course everyone is more than encouraged to talk to each other even though characters would be on different realms, you never know another realm player may hvae advice or at least keep you company talking while playing.
Even if you dont have a headset to talk you could at least benifit from listening in as in my previous example in a paragrah or 2 above about the certain auras or abilities on a unique monster. This would also be helpful for uber runs etc.
So before even going about obtaining the team speak server I wanted to gauge the interest level in this. I do realize some people may have concerns over security with their computer safety and that I'm not well known here.
The only references about my creditability would come from players in another online game called Runescape that I played for 6 years. If you want the references I could go about supplying them but I am on my lunch hour at work at the moment.
Forgot to mention it could be advisble to have your log on name for teamspeak be your account name on d2 or this forum followed by a -of your real life name if u want to be called by that instead.
