Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge

I want to apologize to Milb and everyone else for not getting my character out when I thought I would. This week was pretty hectic as I didn't expect to get rushed to the ER in an ambulance because my throat was closing up and couldn't breathe, nor did I factor in that my girlfriends mom's checkup would result in them finding her riddled with tumors. I did some checking and I've already got the Inner Cloister WP so it shouldn't take too long to finish Bishop up tonight and send him on his way. Things should start calming down on my end so I can keep up. I'm off to go finish him up now and he will be on his way shortly.

Man that's crazy. Hope the cancer is treatable, and the throat swelling didn't end up being anything serious. There's definitely no need to apologize for it. You're already far from being late and even if you were I can't imagine anyone faulting you for it.

Good luck with everything, hope it all turns out better for you.

scarred_life, rest assured that taking time for those sorts of problems is fine with everyone here. Milb can wait an extra day or two

In the meantime, everyone else can feel free to start their second character at will.

Not at all! It's fun to hear about the difficulties people run into, anyway.

I don't have any gloves until ~CLVL30. No shield until CLVL 20. Wonder what my imbue was used on???

Just makes things more interesting and I've had to do a bit more thinking. Did I run the Countess enough to take advantage of some runewords? And of course, it's easier to justify some wacky builds based on the equipment you get :wink3:

Finished off Andariel and sent my character onto Milb (let me know either by a post, pm, or email once you get him). Had my first NDE fighting Andariel the second time while I was on the phone, poisoned and was knocked down to 5 health! My equipment was more than decent, dealing near 250 damage to Andy per swing and on top of that my resists were anywhere from 40-70 in each. I'm really glad that you did this tournament Skunkbelly, aside from everything causing mayhem in rl, I'm having a blast. As far as the thing with my throat, it was just a really bad strep throat and I've been dosed with antibiotics and taking more everyday. With my girlfriends mom, they havn't determined whether or not they are malignent or benign just yet but with everything that's going on there they want to remove them all anyway. Her surgery will be on Monday so if everyone could just send some luck and good thoughts that way I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm looking forward to start on my next character probably tomorrow when I get some more free time, good luck to everyone and hope you all have fun!

You've got good vibes coming from me scarred_life, and I'm sure everyone else has their fingers crossed too!

Butz. :dunce:

Ah, that's nothing  - with my new lovely barb I cannot use:

1) A weapon (1 more level required)
2) Armour (5 more levels required)
3) A belt (5 more levels required)

... I think the merc's going to be my saviour for quite a while. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go make Frost tip-toe through act2. :flip:

Got the character thanks scarred_life.

Don't worry about RL getting in the way, things like that are far more important than this game. Best wishes and I hope everything is ok with you and your girlfriend's mum

Oops, I did it again. ;)

HB has flown through Act 2 and dropped the big slug. I'll hang on to her a little and perhaps run the tombs a little if i get bored in my other pursuits.

EJB, assuming you survive with Ignatow, you'll be getting another good one. ;)

Milosz has been sent along, and Lowell received.

Just realized as I am typing.... forgot to strip the merc.... *sigh*, please delete those items when you receive him HP_Sauce. I'll get them off the copy I still have. And in case you don't recognize what I was doing there it is a real build... you should be able to find it if you don't know it already.

Milosz recieved, merc items deleted, build recognized (I think!). Thank you cb

Jarrell (Druid) has been sent to Purple Locust.

I have never tried this build, but it seems very viable. Duriel went down on P8 without going back to town. Even the merc survived. It could be that I may be learning something about good builds in this tournament. Then again, it may just be my great equipment (for normal difficulty).

This tournament is really 180 degrees outside my normal playing mode. I like to collect items, and so I always (almost always) do full clears on P8 hoping to find that special piece of gear that will change the outcome for the better. In this tournament, I should try to zip right through taking the shortest and easiest path on P1. Well, I have stopped doing full clears (Only one TAl Rasha tomb for instance), but I still seem driven to hit all WPs. P8 is still being used because there is very little challenge otherwise (given the equipment that we have). My guess is that in NM things will get a little more interesting.

It is quite strange isn't it? I noticed it when I was in the 2nd level of the cave in Act 1 and I popped the sparkely chest and then proceeded to pick up the gold, healing, mana, and stamina pots. It was when I started to run away leaving the rare Sash, rare Short bow, grey Short bow (probably socketed - which would have been very useful for my merc) on the ground that I really thought "jeez, this is quite odd! There wasn't a lot of point in coming down here even."

Deffinetly a different sort of play style!

Quasimodo has been delivered. Let me know he arrived safely. Looking forward to the next few legs of this tournament, as I am sure everyone else is. Pleasant gaming all.

Act 2 Down, absolutely no problems whatsoever, I reached lvl 24 pretty quickly at which point I could equip Bonesnap which practically one-hit killed most of the enemies - managed to kill The Summoner with one charge which was quite comical.

Might do some Tomb runs, see if I can get some charms, will probably pass the character on in the middle of the week.

Pound received. Starting act 2 netted me my first non-countess runes and my first flawed gem... excitement. Now I can enjoy cubing up those runes and the dozens of chips found through act1... more excitement

Also, I assume we delete the old character once it has been confirmed the next person received it?

Yeah Wolron, I hear ya. It's freaking me out leaving all those yellows, greens and golds on the floor. Very unusual feeling, and it needs to be a conscious effort each time. :)
