Smilts Charles-Wright - Druid Charles-WrightI finished Act 1 with Notley tonight, and I'm going to send her on to Hrus as soon as I finish typing this. I'm fairly confident that Hrus will be able to struggle through Act 2 with the build option(s) that I gave him (that's a joke... he will get it).
It was an absolute breeze playing this girl after playing the base lifed dex-a-zon for the last 3 weeks. I swear Notley has almost as much life at level 18 as TehDexAZon has at level 72.
I haven't recieved Milosz from Crazy_Bear yet which makes me sad because I wanna see him! *pouts*.

there is another situation that could arise, causing the best build intentions to go out the window. This is what has happened to me ...
I received a well-started amazon, but to my horror (well, maybe not horror, but his little brother), I saw that I have no bow, javelin, or spear that I can equip. This is due to level requirements on the items I have and not due to receiving a base str/dex char.
Assuming I can get this char through act 2, the person who gets this may well be a little confused about the skill placements. I would like to state publicly that this isn't an act of sabotage, but necessary steps to ensure the survival of the character.
This kind of thing may be worth considering before accusing someone of using underhand (but legitimate !) tactics.
So far, good fun tournament. Looking forward to seeing some more of it.

1. Waflob's situation is just a reminder to think smart: your stash might not have a perfectly ideal weapon for every character, or at least not an ideal weapon for every character level... but there are other options if you plan carefully. For example, what'd you imbue in act 1, waflob?

3. So far, we still have at least five characters that haven't been sent forward... but since most of us are ready, I think it's OK to start tonight if you wish. If you still have your act 1 character, please make sure you send it forward by tomorrow. If you do not receive your act 2 character by the end of Saturday, please let me know by PM.

I didn't play in the Pass-It-On tourney but I did play in the 99-items tourney and even with a character that I had full control over the whole way there were a number of very dangerous and very tedious sections. I built a Blizzballer in that tourney with whom I was able to complete Hell, but having a limited stash of items is a big limitation late in the game. I spent huge amounts of time in Cows to get gems to reroll things from my stash that I could have either shopped or gambled easily in two minutes, for example. And in this tourney, you don't know what to expect character-wise so you cannot specialize your efforts on just a few pieces of gear.
So with that in mind, let me say that I'm playing this one straight and not intentionally doing anything to make progress more difficult for other players. I would be very pleased if we ended up with 20 Guardians from this crowd!

Good to hear! No hurries though, I'm just glad to hear that you are alive and still participation, I was beginning to worry that you were going to drop out and and leave my characterless. :grin:
I sort of had a similiar problem to waflob's in Act 1, maybe slightly less tragic though. I simply did not have any equipment my Rouge Merc could wear, not a single thing. I ended up using my Imbue to make a bow for her so she could at least help me do some damage. The end result is that I basicly have a completely useless rare Composite bow now, but what else was I going to do with it? Make a completely useless rare armor? helm?

Everyone should have their next character by sometime on Saturday. If you don't receive it by then, please PM me or the player who owes you a character.
I see what you mean - I didn't really check to see what char I would be getting. Didn't want to spoil the surprise. I actually imbued some gloves, as I don't really have anything better than Chancies for quite a while.
Like HPS, I also didn't have a weapon for my rogue merc - she just had to make do without.
I hope my post didn't get misunderstood as any form of criticism towards SkunkBelly or the received stash. This was not my intention. This tourney's a great idea and I've had a bit of experience playing badly created characters. Usually when one of the kids asks me to kill Baal for him, as he keeps getting killed asnd can't do it.

Not at all! It's fun to hear about the difficulties people run into, anyway.
And just so nobody feels slighted... my Rogue merc couldn't equip a weapon until we reached the Cats 2 WP, and it'll be late act 2 before I can equip my first amulet. And that's Tancred's set amulet. How'd I get stuck with items from that set?! I mean, I'm running the tournament for crying out loud :badteeth:
