Also if you don't want to send screenies of the skill tress that's cool, but please write them down in a safe place that you will remember.

Thanks for agreeing to do that! I think it would be great to know how the characters are progressing, after the fact. I was very curious about this in the Pass It On tourney but since I wasn't playing there was no way of knowing.

OK, it seems we have already had at least two situations where characters have been passed along to the next player with items that were not contained in their 100-item stash. In both cases, the items were equipped.

Please remember that you are not to pick up any items, with only two exceptions:

1. You may store items in act 1 in your IN GAME STASH, so that you can imbue one of them.

2. You may store items in act 5 in your IN GAME STASH, so that you can personalize one of them.

You may NOT equip these items until they have been imbued or personalized, and you may not put them into your ATMA stash.

I'm going to let these two rules violations slide, because the items in question in both cases were a little silly and not particularly useful, and because for crying out loud, it's only act 1 normal... nobody was "pwning" anyone with a cracked wand, for example. But next time, the discovery of this sort of thing will result in expulsion from the tournament :rant:
 
And another thing...

If anyone gets an ETHEREAL item in their stash, please let me know. You aren't supposed to have any. Especially not ethereal BROKEN boots like the ones I sent Freekje :cool: (I'd love to know who the wise guy was who sent those in their ante-up stash...).

Aren't the characters supposed to be completely stripped went sent along? No gold, no items equipped, no switch items, no backpack, no stash, no merc items is how I am planning to send my character forward and I thought the rules were quite clear on that.

By the way, if this tourney were "Who can find the most Eth runes before finding a Ral from the Countess" I am pretty sure I would be way far ahead. I have 26 Eths and not a single Ral yet. Once I find some runes I actually want and do my imbue, I'll send my current character onward.

Yep you are correct. but people tend to forget their weapon switch.

There are only two things that ought to ever be sent along with your character: the Cube, and Mephisto' Soulstone.
 
This tournament is a great deal of fun! Thanks for arranging it, Skunkbelly!

I have two questions:

1) I was looking through my original stash to find problem areas to hopefully fill with my imbue, and I realized there are 100 items in my 99-item stash! Was that intended, since some of the posts above refer to it as a 100-item stash? I haven't used my 100th item and I can delete it if that was a mistake.

2) The original rules say

It's not so typical, but in this case of Act 1, it could be an advantage to look at the next character while still playing your first character (more than just amusement.) For example, if you look at the next character that could affect your choice of what to imbue. It's not a huge deal, but it made me wonder if this is permitted? I haven't received my next character and wasn't planning to look at it anyway, but I would prefer for it to be forbidden to look at the next character until after you have emailed your character onwards. Otherwise there could be traffic jams with people hanging on to characters longer than they would have otherwise.
 
1. Yes, everyone should have received 100 items. A little bonus. When I realized I had enough items to give everyone three elite set/uniques, I just added the extra item on.

2. I think any advantage gained would be too small to worry about. If you imbue an item, knowing your next character's skill set, that still only helps you for one character, and of course, there are 21 out there (at least there are for now!). And of course, 90% of the time, imbues are pretty awful.

But still, I would encourage people NOT to look at their next character until they are finished with their current character... if nothing else, the suspense makes things more fun!
 
Ok I started a little behind but am catching up now. Quasimodo is in the jail but has gone back for some countess runs. Pictures will be taken and stories will commence. Also, I read how some stash had a busted item... it's not the only one I had 3 health potions and a rejuv in mine. No big deal, it made me laugh. Besides you can never have enough purple potions in Hardcore.

What day is the latest for sending our chars out? Looking at previous posts it looks like Saturday?

Joe, I just looked at the stash I sent you... there were no potions in there at all. Are you just making a joke? I hope so, or your ATMA is doing some weird things!

And yes, the latest day for sending your character out is Saturday. Obviously, though, you can send it sooner if you are ready. No rush, though.

Is it an ATMA 5.04 versus 5.05 problem? I think that can cause weirdness along those lines, so perhaps JoeBruce doesn't have the latest version of ATMA.

Sounds like he put a loaded belt back in the stash... the potions go in there as well in that case.

And the leg-problem can easily be bypassed as long as we are allowed to run normal cow level with the act 1 NM chars...



 
Holy Cow!

Nobody is required to do the Cow Level. However, if you wish to, you may enter the Cow Level with the character you play through act 5 (you may not use your act 1 NM or act 1 Hell character to kill cows). Also, if you decide to play the Cow Level, you may go to Tristram to retrieve a leg (or legs, if you wish to run the level over and over).
 
Sent Frost on to sirpoopsalot. I also got tired of Countess, especially as I don't have an overabundance of low level runeword capable items. Have fun with him and good luck:thumbsup:
 
Okay, I can anticipate wanting this week to end as I started and finished my Act I today at work. What will I do tomorrow?

well first out had a quick emergency with the little one left the comp with nothing around got back in time to watch as a wolf killed a monster with CE a little to close. Thank you for letting me join skunkbelly and sorry for the 5 items lost the remaining stash should have gotten to you by now. Ill be reading every week to see how people are doing
