i think i really need to get a move on. haven't played impedimenta in a week or two. ahwell finished work by lunch time today. so gonna dedicate my afternoon.

I have done a bunch of NM Mephy runs yesterday and today. I have the perfect map.
Lots of bad drops, no wonder with my low MF.
Lady luck did shine on my 3 times though. Got a Hone Sundan, Ravenfrost and a Shaftstop.
Now my merc has a chance to both kill stuff and survive and the Ravenfrost will come in handy when I move away from Duriel's.
A nice bow now, Mephy, and I will leave you alone.

Oh, I also got an Um from Bremm or one of his friends.
What to do with it? Hmmm...probably make you all cry and socket it in the Circlet to be gambled. (Still no gambling luck at all).
 
I was right in my prediction that Rhyme wouldn´t be far off. This session I found a Shael, dropped by a regular Carver in the Hole. I feel a lot safer now, with better resists and CBF. Mark also picked up a Dol and a Hexfire unique Shamshir, which he now uses. 60-100 damage on a one-hander in early NM is pretty good, and it also moved his fire resistance up to 70.

The Countess handed out an Eth and two Orts.

decided to bugger the clear all route. just charged forward. took down duriel on p8..oops. just used alot of pots.
in act 3 found a 2 sock long sword and bought a tower shield with good blocking and 2 socks. so going to make strength and a 2 pdiamond'er for bosses. GG cb.

almost died against sszark. charged in while amp. one hit took off 3/4 life. oopsy

Things are going pretty well. I am currently using a rare War Axe with 1-106 Lightning Damage and 10% IAS, and therefore 4 points in Axe Mastery, and maxed resistance of course since I have to spend my skill points somewhere.
 
"Nooooooooooooo". He woke up bathed in sweat, his hearth pounding in his chest. Something terrible has happend. But he couldnt figure out what. Slowly he began to realize it had something to do with his brother.

IllBeDeadSoon had left his family some time ago to go one some obscure quest of some sort. They had argued for hours but his brothers mind was set. He was determined to complete the quest thereby gaining access to some much needed wealth. He had tossed aside the whole idear that he could end up dead. But now BringerOfDeath feared his brother had met his untimely demise. He hoped he was wrong but he couldnt answer that question himself. He needed help.

BringerOfDeath spoke to Nodoon, the paladin apprentice, the next day about summoning a dark member of their family. One they normally wouldnt speak too or even think off but BringerOfDeath couldnt think of anyone else who could help them. Nodoon wasnt too happy about the idear but eventually gave in.

One evening when they were sitting at the camp fire everything suddenly went silent. They quickly rose to their feet, drawing their weapons, preparing for battle. BringerOfDeaths had his wolves on full alert ready for anything. They waited for a while. And then something started to appear from the dark woods. Out of the shadows nightmarish skeleton warriors came at them swinging their weapons. "STOP!". A creepy and cold voice echoed trough the night. And so the skeletons stopped. Just before they would plunged their axes and swords into Nodoons and BringerOfDeaths armor covered bodies.

Sharn-Mes, the dark lord of death, an unholy necromancer teleported next to BringerOfDeath, casting a decrpify spell on them. Both were disarmed within a split second. Sharn-Mes stared at them with his cold eyes. "Why have you summoned me here?. I have more pressing things to attend to than babysitting you two. Speak up!".

BringerOfDeath wondered if this was a bad idear after all. He cold see that Nodoon had already reached that conclusion but it was too late now.

BringerOfDeath : "I fear my brother is in trouble".
Sharn-Mes : "IllBeDeadSoon? Yeees. I have followed his progress with his quest".
BringerOfDeath : "You know of this? Is he ok!". Sharn-Mes smiled. "Who knows."
Nodoon : "If you know something you must share it with us!"
Sharn-Mes : "SILENCE!". The sound of his voice gripped their hearths.
BringerOfDeath : "You must help us! I dont know anyone else who can!"
Sharn-Mes : "I lost track of your brother after he vanquised the evil Andariel in the once sacred catacombs of the Western Kingdoms. Some powerfull magic must be at work since I can no longer use my vision to see what is going on in the Deserts of Aranoch. It troubles me."
BringerOfDeath sank to the ground. "Then he his dead?"
Sharn-Mes : "I cant tell. I will go back and reserch this dark cloud which has engulfed the deserts."
BringerOfDeath : "What can I do?"
Sharn-Mes : "Follow the trail of you brother. See what you can learn. I will follow you progress. Something powerfull is at work here."

Sharn-Mes vanished with an evil grin. Then his voice echoed through the woods. "Do you like the Vampire Gaze I have lend you Nodoon?". His laughter sent shivers down their spines.

BringerOfDeath : "He has LENT you equipemt!".
Nodoon : "I didnt know! One day it was just there. I never knew it was from him!".

BringerOfDeath walked away shaking his head wondering if he had just sold his soul to the devil.

nice easy act 3. finally got my valk in upper kurast. nothing to scary.
the main drawback is im still using my weapon i got in the black marsh :lol: but it does 65-ish av dmg and is fast. so it still does its job. meph dropped my valk twice and that was the entire fight. stupid crappy meph.

I finally gave up on Mephy (without another good drop), stashed the MF items and moved on to Hell A1. And right through it as well. I'm now standing in Lut Gholein, ready to go after Radament.

My first Valk was one with Amp on her gear. A keeper throughout! Unfortunately I missed the correct key somewhere in the Outer Cloister and summoned a new one. :(
At least gave me time to mule stuff off.
It got quite tough from the Pits on. Too many Archers and Mages for my taste.
The merc is killing nicely, but is dying far too easily when encountering boss packs. Too less leech and resists I guess.

It may look like I´m taking baby steps here, and that´s pretty much true. Long workdays, my habit of selling everything and visit both Charsi and Gheed at every town trip, combined with another 'Baldur´s Gate bug infection' slows my progress. But I still can´t understand how Warrior of Light got through half of NM in one day and the second half the next day! I wouldn´t be out of act 1 even if I had played 20 hours non-stop...

^These MF numbers are starting to look decent now. In NM I have found 4 uniques (2 of which are exceptionals and that I use now), 5 set items (I have kept 3 of them because they have MF potential should I find the "correct" piece of the set) and loads of rares. Rare rings are exciting to identify, because they have a good chance to beat my crappy 14-15% MF rings. I gamble rings quite a bit (as well as gloves, Plated Belts and Balanced Knives) but they are expensive and I´ve had no luck with them yet.

Don't worry, I don't play much faster, mostly same reason: work and short evenings ;)

Great MF though. I'm still at around 50, but got a Goldskin that I'm wearing now. I made it past Fangskin (NM), I'll post a complete update when I killed Duriel (or he killed be :D ).

It took me about 15 hours total. After Normal Baal runs I was level 60+ at the beginning of NM with 1000+ damage for everyone in my party. I just run at /players1 strait to all WPs and quests, only clearing the way and ignoring everything else. As I posted in the report, I didn’t meet any difficulties.
If the rules could let me to skip waypoints and quests I could do it even faster.

;)
 
I have so much going on right now so I am making slow but steady progress.. I beat normal Baal and are ready for some nightmare action.. :)
 
Corax......do you want my stash from the TheShadowKnows, now? Also, I was assuming/hoping, I get to keep what shes wearing, being she's not dead. :)

I was making up a stash with most of the useful set or uniques, although most are normal. I was also including PGems, charms, jewels, etc. But, it'll be more than one stash, at the rate I'm going.

Whatdya think? Want all that stuff, or no?
 
Little progress for me,

Nathan, lvl 67, Act I Hell

I've mainly been running Mempisto for a chance at a good item and tried a little bit of more progress in Act I hell.
I think it is getting time for a different merc though, I need to have a better PI killer and a Act1 fire (or cold?) rogue is far better for that.

I've been running Nihlathak with my non tournament hammerdin (for his key) and I have seen a few poison vipers on my way. I now have a better idea of how they work and what part is so lethal.

Forget what I said about the antidote potions as counter against poison vipers, that will not help. Actually, the poison attack is not the problem but the solution. They seem to be "bugged" in such a way that sometimes their short range (or charge) physical attack is not one attack but repeated multiple times very fast. Almost in the same way the gloam lighning attack is repeated multiple times if I read it correct, just a little bit slower.

To counter that, I kept them at range. Then they "only" fire that poison arrow which did very little damage to my character.

I had planned to finish the act last evening but it just took too long and it was time to go to bed. Luckily, the WP isn´t so far from the exit.

We ran afoul of a Possessed monster again, this time a Death Clan in the Jail. He arrived along with two Champion friends, and Mark couldn´t tank all those three without being in danger, even with Decrepify help against the champs. Fast change of plans. Mark let Isolde distract them while he ran into a nearby jail cell and closed the door behind him. He took a TP before Isolde got smacked. That brought her to him, of course. Goats are too stupid to open doors. Hah, those n00bs...

Second danger tonight could almost be seen as an NDE. Mark got too close to the LE Bone Ash in the Cathedral, while Isolde was still rapidly shooting arrows. Since he had bad resists against the two element involded (Bone Ash is always CE) those bolts were stunlocking him! I panicked and rapidly hit my rejuve buttons. I drank three full rejuves, which was probably a little overkill, but that´s a LOT better than drinking too few.

Another Champion pack danger in the Catacombs: Rat Men. They did a lot more damage that I thought they would.

Mark: "I don´t know, the Chief just put them there today. If there are MF jewels, I bet he´s got some over-the-top plans. When we take a break, he usually just removes all socketables except flawed gems we should cube and those damn topazes."

Hubby went away on a business trip today, so I got lots of D2 time for a week. :)

I thought I would die in the Arcane Sanctuary. I had a look at the first way and didn't want to take it first. I ran back to see what the next one was. That one I wanted to take, so went in and met a mixed pack. Merc and Valk engaged them and suddenly I got rushed by two champion spectres coming from the other way. Couldn't get a decoy up in time, so they attacked me. I panicked and hit Esc. But remembered that I had to die with honour, resumed the game and hit rejuvs. I got a TP up and with one rejuv left managed to get through it.
Phew!!!
I was a bit more careful afterwards. :)

Duriel was easy. The merc got killed right away, but I was already in safety with a TP up, so I just let the valk fight it out with him. Took a while but was safe. 2 useless rares from him.
No good finds in the whole act. Sandstorm Trekk was the only unique I got.
