Sorry to be a nag, but I am still not completely clear about skills provided by items. You have narrowed it down to any melee skill and those from the unrestricted trees. In your examples, you only list skills from the same character class. How about these situations. Are they allowed?

* Any class using Zeal and Berserk from a 'Passion' weapon? I would think this is OK since they are melee skills, right?
* Non-necros using charges with necromancer curses. Cloak of Shadows or Posion Creeper charges used by other classes than assassins and druids, respectively. Not melee skills, but they are from allowed skill trees.

Basically the rule is any item that gives 'banned' melee skills(like zeal or berserk) or adds skills from other allowed trees(curses or enchant charges) can be used by any characters competing in this tourney.
so yes to both of them.


New sorc rules: in addition to the masteries, enchant, cold armours and energy shield the sorc may nominate one tree in which she has full access to all skills lvl 18 and lower. so if she nominates the fire tree she can max any skills up to and including firewall.

starting up I went and killed rakanishu to clear the stones for later, and he gave me more exp that way. then I trundled off and full cleared both underground passage levels *yawn* and the dark wood. my yellow boots. yay.
After grabbing the WP it was back to akara then on to the stones. popped into tristram, beat griswold and a shaman boss no problems. got locked into spot by goats and champion returned, no problem hack my way out. after almost fully clearing the place i saw a bunch more champions huddled in a corner, so of i raced to face them, when elly my rogue prompty got stuck in a burning building and died, install smoke alarms people. one of the returned dropped brocs hands :thumbsup: kind of gross that im wearing used hands, but they give leech and are pretty and blue. in my haste to get back to akara i nearly forgot to let cain out.
 
Must .... play.... *installs diablo 2*

Cleared out the black marsh, the hole and the countess tower. nothing of note dropped. then took a quick trip through the highlands to grab the next wp. will go back next session and clear tamoe and the pit. then onwards :D

then they will not count as a 'guardian'. they will still count as only having done the anya quest. but if you want to skip him by all means go ahead

Vipers are not always there, just reroll maps.
Allthough bugged, they can be survived as well. (They don't make 1-hit kills)

COS from Nadir is allowed. so yes you read the rules correct.

as for save & exit. If you save and exit to save yourself from death you count as dead. so no more 'official' progress.

No Other classes are allowed to use sorc skills beyond the masteries, enchant, cold armours and energy shield. the lvl 18 skills is a special rule to help out stupid sorcs.

The bugged damage from the poison missiles that can hit every frame is physical, not poison. PDR items help more. Make use of corners and obstacles to prevent them from firing their missiles. Quickly engage them in melee, with character, merc or minion. I agree that blinding them is even better.

Rerolling the map is an option in this tournament, but my foolish pride prevents me from even thinking about it. My characters deal with what they get, or die trying.
The exception is against Hell Ancients, which I will gladly reroll with TPs. Having guardians trying to stop the hero who wants to save their sacred mountain is a bit stupid, IMO. Especially since they are much stronger than the monsters ahead.

(seriously, that´s a pretty good sword at this stage, certainly better than a slow Claymore (which do make for nice 'Steel' weapons available for sale, though)
 
@jiansonz:

The antidote's are not for the poison resistance. A antidote also "unpoisen" you the instant you drink it. And allthough the damage is physical, I think it is triggered as poison effect at the times poison hits and "unpoisoning" yourself could possibly stop the effect. (I have not tested this a lot though)

yes but physical damage would be instant no? so it would be all but impossible to time it. especially when things are trying to kill you. nasty bugged things at that.


@jiansonz: yea i had a 2 hander with a saphire and an emerald. than gambled a decentish rare claymore. little more phys dmg, some dmg undead and some psn. but the giant sword kills faster and looks cooler. the extra bulk makes the sword actually look usable.
 
Well, EinBaum rescued Cain last night. I forgot how powerful a level 1 holy fire aura is in the first half of act 1... he's pretty much smushing everything in 1-2 hits, a couple more for champions and bosses.

Now it's just time to start shopping like mad for a two-socket scepter with +3 to Zeal :)
 
Well, I'm am going to try a Sorceress, I don't play them alot, so I doubt I'll get past act1 with her. After reading the updates rules for her, I think it may be possible. I would like to nominate the fire tree for my use of below clvl 18 spells. I will most likely be an enchantress. Question, if I nominate the fire tree, can I max Warmth?

As I said, I doubt I'm going to get anywhere with her, but this is all about fun anyway...

Hrus: Unless you nominate the fire tree, I understand that you can only have one point in warmth, so you will be loosing out on static and teleport, haven't really played an enchantress before, So don't know how important these two skills are.
