If I had my way every non legit player would be dealt with in that manner.

So yes, I couldn't care less about these players being shown the door

umm no, not in 1.10, more like 1.09, 1.07 (2 of em) and in 1.06. For those who are wondering, yes it is possible pre-LoD but that's simply insane...just like myself :D

well, seriously, I guess the old timers here already know the story and the rest have heard it anyway so it's kinda pointless for me to share it here again. (Edit: but I did...again :P )

I have two legitimately acquired Zod runes, one which was traded and later cubed from a Cham and other high end runes (enough to leave me with one Cham after that which was later traded to Lord_Vega who turned it into a Zod which was later donated to Durf).

That Zod became the centerpiece of my very first BotD which was built on an ethereal berserker axe, a simple 1.10 version. That Zod took me literally thousands of hours of gaming, starting from the very first day Diablo II was out to the very day I turned 26 (which was 14th december when my brother finally agreed to the rune trade, thus the easy to remember date). Now of course I know runes weren't there from the D-day of Diablo II, but the items were that I traded for it, or some of them anyway (others included a pack of tobacco, couple of cd's and stuff like that :lol: )

Anyway, I was quite happy with that BotD axe for a "long" time, meaning, it took about 3-5 weeks more and a Zod rune dropped during a Baal run I was doing. To this very day I still don't know what critter dropped it, all I do know is that everything was dead and I had cleared basically the whole floor from items before I even saw the rune there.

Now, before you all go berserk about the luck I had back then, think of it this way, it only took about 1-2 months more when I got so completely fed up with the whole game that I've stopped playing it entirely. It simply became too easy when I had the things I had wanted to achieve in the game, Zod and lvl99 (that I've done 4 times).

So...basically just play the game and have fun, enjoy the cracked dagger your lvl2 guy finds to replace your broken short sword before heading back to town and enjoy the more rare finds :)

I still dont beleive you, the abundance of runes you had were too many for any legit player IMHO. But I could be wrong, I have been before. Either way, I hope life is treating you and your family well.
 
Well, interesting read. However, I will never share any runestories since "luck" obviously is a word that only is accepted coming from people who are known here.
I am too new. Maybe later.
However, fascinating read, keep it up.
 
My highest drop in 1.10 has been Gul from Hellforge. Althought I have found Ber in 1.09 (still have it on a mule) and Vex, which was lost when I died my hardcore amazon, just so wise to go against hell nihlathak with a Vex in stash.

Hey darlin', don't be bitter, these are suspicious times. Old timers leaving and new members joining everyday. Give it time to settle down.

Ist, Um, Mal???? Never seen them. Probably will not see them for a long, long time. Highest i got was three fals. One was from the hell hellforge and one more in hell somewhere in 1.09 i guess. The other was cubed slowly to fal. If i find any rune above Io, it will be a happy day for me. :lol: I can't even bear to cube it up to Lem. That is how rare rune finds are for me.

The forge has been very good to me so far to date it has yielded:

4x Ums
2x Ists
1x Mal


and my javazon is heading into hell after picking up the last um in nightmare. Comon 3rd ist

The best I have done so far is LEM in Nightmare Hellforge

My next best is DOL :scratch:

What I really need to find is a 5 socket weapon so I can try 'Honor' :)

It's not about players not having items that they want, its about ensuring that these items are legit.

I am sure that if you do a search you will find all the information you need. This discussion has been done over and over.

Really, I don't mind who finds what, cos' I've played this game long enough to know what the chances of finds are - it just means my trading circle lessens thats all.

It seems my rune luck has been mixed. Since playing 1.10 I've had a Vex drop in WSK, and another Vex somewhere during a Pindle run. :thumbsup:

However, I've managed to get two characters to final Hellforge in 1.10, and EACH time I recieved a Hel. If I've read this thread correctly, that's the worst drop you can get. :grrr:

Ah well...
 
My best rune is a MAL from one of many 1.09 Cow games. I've yet to see anything higher drop in an MP game I've been in. I've run countess a couple hundred times and the best I could do was a dol. :rant:
