Rune Farm

Noob question really, does mf affect rune as it affect item?? i.e. more mf higher rune drops??

Background:

Want to get engima, trading system is impart in D2 and will take forever to get 64 shako for a jah or something. So decided to DIY Countess Farming, necro without teleport taking ages to walk about but the rune drop seems to be a bit poor without mf gear, even with mf gear, rune drop did not seems to improve much.

any idea?

No it doesn't...it's all about luck.

that is okay then, I just need to use a teleport staff and can use normal non mf gear for speed farming,
 
in 1.10, hellforges have produced more rune value for me in a smaller period of time than any Countess running. :thumbsup:

yeah I dd manage to pick up someone else's UM the other time. nice.

but you cannot really do the hell forge twice on the same character in hell, can you?

OK, just to really show how new I am at this. how do you do a hellforge more than once. My hellforge quests dropped squat and I'm not the type to rush somebody for their hellforge or tag along and then steal it. I'd love to hit the hellforge again but as far as I can tell, you can only do it once per difficulty level.
 
well I do have 2 PC and 2 copy of D2, it is possible but labourous.

so I would have to start a new account, log on in 1 PC for the level 1 char, log on my high level char on another and then start questing for the low level character.

all the way to hell and then do the quest in hell. hm... the quest on my charcter dropped a sol and a thur or something, not really worth the effort.

that is unless, I can get high rune drop in normal and nightmare too, then doing a new character I have 3 chance to get good runes that might worth it, I dont think the rune level of the drops are the same in the 3 difficulties though is it? other wise I can farm normal countess which is like a McD drive by.
 
If rune drop is based on CLevel, is there anything to be said for waiting until you get your character levelled up high, and then going back to do HellForge Quest in Normal, Nightmare and Hell?

Just a thought...
