In damage received calculations, do you work in your absorb or resistances first?
Absorb is the MOST unusefull stat in game.
% absorb works much like Resist, except that it takes double (whatever)% damage away from the damage calculated after resists, so if you have a LS and have -60% resist, you will take 160%*(1-25%*2) = 80% of the original damage.
This is how its explained, and its got no math involved:
High res, % sorb=crap, # sorb=GG
Low res, % sorb=GG, # sorb=crap
No, you get FULL original damage, than you get healed for half of the damage recieved. That only happens when you have negative resists. when you have positive reists, the absorb math is diminishing.
Anyway, every time you have negative resist, ideal 40% cap on absorb would act as if you have 80% resist on element.. but, you have to SURVIVE the original damage. Thats why it is called ABSORB.![]()
