:grin: how lucky, since I wont be able to actually kill on my own with shockwave and hunger... with no maul... Also no spirit Oh well, I should not complain, a hunger/shoickwave bear with lycan, a big tank with dire wolf + life backup and decent equip wonder how far he'll make it...

11 Tal_Rebecca Sorceress erics 14 A1 Black MarshI've been saving my imbue to use on a war spear, hoping I'll be lucky enough to find one at least before the end of the difficulty level. For the moment, though, a normal spear seems to be doing pretty reasonably. I've been using the 3 chipped gems recipe to get magic spears with sockets, but after going through all my chipped gems the best I've got is a spear with +12 max damage socketed with a normal skull, and a pure (good against undead) spear of the leech socketed with an Eld for super undead-bashing on switch. A couple of elemental damage charms and some extra damage jewels in my armour are giving me an average damage of 70 (of which 20 poison), which doesn't feel too bad. Players 8 doesn't feel too slow yet. May be tricky to keep on raising my damage in line with the monsters, though.

It was a shame to ditch her for a combat act 2 merc but ah well such is life. Sara just got the cube and is on his way to the maggot lair. Still using his only active skill so far and shouting up a storm. Did finaly get a bandistock so killing is much better now.
I'd like to ask some advice:
How good is Whirlwind? Specifically when using a spear. I've never used the skill. I'd need to invest five useless skill points in prerequisites before I could even start getting it, and with several useful warcries clamouring for points I'm not sure that I want to invest in it at all.

Whirlwind is very good, in my opinion. It's a uninteruptable, aoe melee attack, awsome!
However, you will need some mana leech for it to be effective, since it's very mana costly. You also want a fast weapon to make it worthwhile. There are sticky's in the barbarian fotum with ww breakpoints, and remember, for ww only ias on weapon counts!

Just to be clear, I mean using a Spear (or War Spear, Hyperion Spear), not just a spear-class weapon. I'm vaguely regretting rerolling increased speed now ...
