more than a few people dont have fun waiting on their merc to kill something so that they can then spam CE
With teleport, killing speed of merc and bone spear is at least comparable. Well-geared merc kills things fast, regular monster in 1-2 hits (once he is brought to it with say enigma), and maybe even faster than bonemancer can (you cant have 4frame cast speed on necro, sadly, but it takes 1 full cast to teleport to mob however). Anyway, making first corpse takes like a split second, there shouldnt be that much difference.

personal preference. also factor in that "with teleport".

honestly, i've made a summon necro. i've made a couple. i know about them. it was the first build i got to work when i was first starting out. i'm not making another one. the last one i made exploited the marrow walk bug so i was playing a summoner that was more like this build anyway. dont give me a bunch of numbers, i dont give a crap. i have fun my way, you have fun your way.

what i dont like is some guy coming in to a viable build thread and saying make something else. constructive criticism i understand. hell it's not like i even wrote the thing. i just have really taken to it in a way that i never did with a summon nec. and a build that focuses on a merc? dont even start.

I am currently level 36, and.....im at baal normal. I am honestly starting to get bored with my fishy....when is a good time to respec to this explosionamncer?

Also I found a grim wand with +2 Bone Spear. I think it should be ok to use? Will it get 2 socks when larzuked?

Just need to find Dol...so damn hard to find it... :( I found 5 sols in a game just then but no dol.

I usually switch to CE when I make my first insight. This doesnt actually mean "switch", I just stop boosting skeletons and max CE instead until I have 20 hard points in it. This ladder, I got my first insight very early, at level 20 so I needed to wait 25 or 27 (dont quite remember) before I can use it. The point is that CE needs lots of mana, there is no way you can do CE chains without insight. With insight, even non-eth, merc's damage is insane - you dont need to care about first corpses generally, and CE is extremely powerful in all acts, all areas and all difficulties.
If you dont like your merc to do all the job, find insight and do respec to bone spear+CE build. I havent tried but lvl 20 bonespear + rest in CE should be enough to make first corpses.

Ok so:

+2 bone spear grim wand or
+2 corpse explosion bone wand?

I need to find dol fast... :(

Maybe 2 Corpse explosion, its the main thing in this build

Now to find dol....! Where to find it..? :P

i suggest using spirit sword until after you leave normal. i found that the large amount of mana helped more than the extra skills. you can use CE before you get insight, you just have to use it more strategically instead of spamming it all over the place. i also suggest you carry 1 row of juves and 3 rows of mana. squeezing a bit of mana per kill somewhere via a tir can really help too. you dont need insight, but it really, really helps.

I agree with securing a nice mana source before you respec. Bone spells plow through the mana. You can find 4 soc crystal swords in act 1 nightmare for spirit. Faster casting, big mana pool and +2 to skills would be better in your current position than the white runeword, imho.

If you prefer the wand, go with the +2 spear since +2 CE only increases CE's radius. Don't worry about the wand having less than perfect mods. Before you know it, you'll have plenty of Dols and Ios for future, better, wands.

Alright , I already have insight

The problem now is.....+2 CE or +2 BS wand? I think, isnt CE more important? The +2BS damage isnt that big....

At this time I am at lvl 44, how should my template seems? I am a bit lost. I am playing as a fishymancer, but I do not like to hide behind an army of skellies, so I want to respect to this build, but I do not know how it should be at my lvl.

do your prereqs first.

-1golem, mastery, summon resist
-1 into whatever curses you want or need
-1 into all the bone skills you want (dont leave something out like i've done before)
-max bone spear.
-maybe half and half into CE and prison. i maxed prison and CE at the same time.
-then on to bone wall.
-finally into spirit (or teeth, or whatever other bone synergy you'd rather have).

Does this build really need max block? I am untwinked, and dont have homonculus.

Isnt bone armor enough? Attract, decrep, CG, merc, etc. Do i still need block?

Maxblock is up to you.
I used to have maxblock on my necro once, when I used homunculus, but it's more of fun than real use for me. Necro are rarely hit by physical attacks (even arrows), and blocking doesnt work when you run. Blocking animation is also very nasty, I prefer lose some hitpoints and MAYBE fall into recovery animation than lose half a second every time blocking works. With spirit (55fhr), you should definetely forget about maxblock for sure.

Can tell that you've put some real effort into it! :)

I've never played ladder so my question is this:

Since this build relies heavily on Insight, is it still viable without it?
Perhaps if you drop max block and put some points into energy?
You've obviously played this build so how important is max block,
considering that you have good crowd-control and a strong BA.
And maybe CTA to boot.. Could you play it safe without CTA..?

I want to try ladder, and it's either this build or Orb-it-aller for me.
Anyone else with experience of this build is free to give me input!

I hate to remake characters, so which build is better in the longrun,
if you plan to beat the game, and later do MF and bossruns..?

Btw, I'll be playing totally untwinked! :(

What does insight do? It lets you to not worry about mana, freeing some mana potion slots in belt, and increasing overall running speed aswell (you dont drink, pickup, buy or whatever, mana potions). Without insight, you would need some REALLY decent mana pool (+mana items, SoJs etc) and spend some apm on thinking about mana potions. I used to run a build like this in 1.12 and I didnt use insight then, so it was viable.
Spending points in energy is usually considered as waste, but there is nothing wrong in it if you need more mana and feel already safe with your current HP pool. Up to you, and you can respec any time in 1.13.
Regarding maxblock, read my notes above. You should definetely try it yourself, but it is hard to find a shield with decent blockrate so dont aim at maxblock if you dont have appropriate gear.

plus try to get a good amount of mana per kill. this will help you out.

I'll make sure to pick up Insight as soon as I can then!

I'm guessing that there's no need to put points into Dex before I find
a suitable shield for max block. If I feel that I need it. Can probably
save a good amount of stat points as long as my health feels
comfortable and safe.

Guess it's not such a big deal now since there's Respec.. :)

if you're playing HC there's no reason to save stat points any more. saving points is a SC prerogative. you'd feel pretty dumb dying with 50-100 (or more) stats that could have been put into vit.

every action has opportunity cost, and there is exists uncertainty regarding future. Those two premises imply the necessity of forgone spending.
