OT: What are you listening to right now

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

Aaahh, the words 'Play the game' remind me of Motorhead - The Game.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

Maynard James Keenan, it's a good thing.
Puscifer (keenan's solo stuff) - Queen B
Don't listen to it expecting Tool, it's very different.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

Rachid Taha: Made in Medina. Cool stuff, I guess Barra Barra don't need an introduction.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

Pearl Jam's "Ten" over and over. This is turning into an obsession....

It really is like walking down Memory Lane and being back in the 90s, living life as a stoner student - good times.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

With a risk of being considered a total geek (in a game forum...) I have been listening to Ola: Unstoppable. For the non Swedish members of this forum it is a contestent in the Eurovision song contest (or in the Swedish tryouts for this...). A leftover from the 1960-70-80 something... Very geeky but this song is actually and totally
UNSTOPPABLE!!!
Check it out on youtube or something...

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

Shearwater - Hidden Lakes

This isn't my usual type of music and I'm not much of a fan of the singing (yet) but the music is just amazing.

Check it out!

Very relaxing... if anyone knows of similar type music to this please tell me, I'm always looking for more ambient/epic music

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

Quiet music isn't exactly my preferred genre, but if you don't already know Sigur Ros (two random tracks: Islandish Title 1 and Islandish Title 2) or Sufjan Stevens (two tracks from the album Illinois: Casimir Pulaski Day & Chicago) you should check 'em out. If you like ANYTHING at all here, you should do more delving into them yourself; this is merely a small sample of what they sound like.

edit: I like this live set from Sufjan. If nothing else, go to minute 27 and listen to that song. I'd have linked it, but I don't know what album it's on or what its title is. But this is great stuff.

Have I mentioned I've seen both live? Awesome shows.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

@Joosh: Can't access youtube here at work but I saw the word ambient and got to thinking. Now, I'm sure there's a whole spectrum of ambient music but I've listened quite a lot to Karl Sanders who is classified as dark ambient. Wonderful stuff. It's influenced by old egypt with lots of strange instruments and throatsinging and such.

You should atleast check out the song "Of the Sleep of Ishtar" off his Saurian Meditation album. Should be findable on youtube.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

Mesh - Hold It Together

And pretty much their entire album "A Perfect Solution"

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

Karl Sanders - Slavery unto Nitokris.

Felt I had to listen some to him when I had recomended him before today.
