OT - Want join a WC3 clan with NF?

lol seriously. If this were a starcraft clan I'd be in fo sho yo'!

To this day I still play more starcraft than any other game... ever. Except for this one stint I had with diablo 2 1.04. Oh and chrono trigger, but I played that b4 starcraft.

I tried wc3, but it's not my cup of tea. For one it kept crashing on my computer :(
THe game plays slow with all the damn hero lvling up and it lets you get away with so MANY mistakes which can make games drag on and on and on... I just can't get anywhere near the same amount of enjoyment that I do from starcraft. I rocked at wc3, mainly due to my crazy experience with starcraft, but it's just not the same. Wc3 battles always came down to spamming hero abilities and battles ALWAYS ended up being decided by whoever had the higher lvl hero, or if you got lucky enough to find a TP scroll. I haven't bothered with tft

Anyone here want to play some starcraft with me? I'm on msn [email protected]
Fear the Dark Templar rush. I play Starcraft daily.

hey, idd like to join the clan. i have warcraft 3, problem is, i have a very slow connection.

That's the beauty of WC3 (or at least part of it): You can be on frickin' dial up and play without any lag at all. I don't really know why, but in all the games I've played (okay, there weren't that many but enough) I've never lagged at all. And I was always either on dial up or ISDN. I love that.

As for the TFT/RoC issue. Personally, I play TFT but I'd have no problem with part of the clan being RoC. So long as everyone is having fun it's all good with me. ;)

Here's the link to what battle.net has to say about clans: http://www.battle.net/war3/ladder/w3xp-ladder-info-clans.aspx?Gateway=Northrend

The gist of it is that we need 10 people to form the clan and they need to be online at the same time (and probably in the same battle.net channel). Once we got the clan going at least 10 people need to log into b.net once every 28 days or the clan gets disbanded again. Well, that should be simple enough, after all one of the main purposes of the clan is to have people to play with / practice against.

So, let's see where we stand:

List of people who expressed interest in joining our fledgling clan:

Nightfish (duh?)
Quicksilver
Atompilz
Lacerata
Zavior
Mordales
DarkChaos
Guardian
Liter Soul

So far that's *counts* 9 people. Hm, not bad though there were a couple of maybes. If we can find a few more we could get the ball rolling. :)

I have actually just bought the battle chest. I'd be interested in joining the clan eventually, but I really doubt you want a completely new player with you. I'll see about joining once I have some of the nuances of the game down. Cheers!

I doubt we'd mind a new player. ;) (frankly, we actually need at least 1 more guy or there's no clan :D) And it's not like we'd all play in one big game together all the time. I doubt that's even possible... 10 vs 10. o_O

Truth to tell, I'm pretty new to this clan thing myself. But from what I heard about other clans at least part of what they do is to share their accumulated wisdom with their newer (or even older) members. (correct me if I'm wrong). The other thing I can think of is that clan gives you people to play with / practice against. Other than that it's probably just an affiliation of people having fun. (hopefully)

i'd offer to join, except i think i might be more of a hindrance than a help, cause not only am i not gosu, im not even "sort of ok" lol, but if you need another person i could do it (atm i dont have the expac though, so... yah, atm im borrowing it from a friend, and am still not sure if i like it or not ;))

Dude, just join. I'll bet I suck worse than you and Nightfish has still graciously encouraged my interest. There's only one way to learn, right?

Join Clan TiO

</selflesspromotion>
:teeth:
OK, now that that's outta the way , good luck with the clan, hope it turns out to be a good community, I will stay in TiO as a lot of my RL buds are in it and I've been a part of it for a few months now, but make sure to tell us the name of the clan and the chat room and I'll make sure to pop in once in a while to say hi, and maybe pwn some of ya:teeth:

Well, the way I see it everyone is welcome, no matter what their skill level is. I never much liked how most of the clans require you to be of a certain level or have a win / loss ratio greater than X. The only thing I'd "require", if I may be so bold as to require something, is good manners. Imo that's worth a lot more than being a gosu.

Anyway it seems we're nearing the 10+ people mark which means we might actually gather enough people to start the clan. :)

As for Plastics question: Yeah, I'd say we're still inviting. The more the merrier. ;)

If everyone is fine with that, we could try to get things wrapped up sometime on Monday? Maybe in the evening, something like GMT 19:00 or so. It's not really necessary that everybody is online at that time but we need at least 10 people in total to start. Once the clan actually exists I assume it'll be simpler to add the rest of our gang. :)

Also, we still need a good name / tag.

we could have [SPF] as our tag ;) and is it okay that i only have reign of chaos?

NightFish, if you don't mind, I might give it a go. I'm on freakin' dial-up which just ruled out all my possible Internet games (exept D2 in MP here). However, I will not be able to start for sometime and my skill is total n00b (even your everage dog can beat me in WC3). is it okay to join later?

Yeah, we could go with SPF though it would sound a little weird to be "Clan Single Player Forum". I was thinking along the lines of "Clan Blackjack and Hookers" maybe... :uhhuh:

It's okay if you don't have TFT of course, though there is a huge difference between TFT and RoC. Personally, I'm not going to be playing RoC but I don't mind if like half the clan was RoC. Gives us more diversity.

DeathMaster, I'm on dial up too and I almost never have lag issues. Like I said on numerous occasions skill level is definetly no issue else I'd probably have to kick myself out of the clan right now. Joining later is fine too. I do hope that our ranks will swell with time as our fame spreads across the land... (reality check? :D)

A thought occurs... As it seems we're going to have a fair share of rookies in our clan maybe those of us with a bit more experience could whip up some pointers and such to be put up at our prospective clan web page. (yes, nightfish is thinking of another guide again. Might as well rename myself to guidefish *g*) Anyhows, that's probably best left for later when we actually got the clan going.

Hehe, and as an added bonus, if you Arranged Team with me you get the extra excitement of whether my computer will mess up

I tried playing a 3v3 AT with NF and one of NFs friends earlier, something messed up and I got MASSIVE graphical lag, ended up completely unplayable and I had to quit :grrr:

So I restarted my comp, and its been fine since.

Also, I'm just 7 wins away from my Naga Myrmidon icon now :D

Nightfish's fishcraft guide perhaps?

I'm not a great player (I was big on RT 2v2s for quite a while) but I've been looking for a clan for a long time. I couldn't make one since I don't know many players and my brother (who's at college) has the computer that can actually run it. But I could get him to log in every month at least, I wouldn't be a very active player though.

I like SPF for the tag...but the name doesn't have to have anything to do with it.

I'll leave the 2v2 AT guide to you NF, and the Dark Ranger usage guide

But I'll probably end up having to write the basic 1v1, RT and possibly FFA guides :uhhuh:

Okay, like I said earlier it seems there's enough interest to get this going. (which is nice). Now for the hard part. I said some of this stuff before but doing so on the weekend was a bad idea since activity here is generally low then. So here we go again: Things we need to do:

1) Come up with a good name for our Clan.
Personally I'd say the majority decides what we call ourselves.

2) Gather at least 10 people into a battle.net channel and start the clan. I'd assume that's easier to do in the evening, so chime in everybody as to when you'd be available. I'd suggest we give the times in GMT, kinda hard when everybody says "5 o'clock my time". :D

3) Round up everybody who wasn't there when the clan was created.
Don't worry if you aren't available for the initial formation of the clan. Once the clan actually exists it's easy to add new people. We'll appoint a couple of shamans, preferably from various timezones, so that should be no problem.

4) Decide on whether or not we want account names to match our clan. Like all the cool clans have. (for example: "4k.<name>") Actually we probably should do that before 2) but after 1).

5) Start having fun?

Well, that's pretty much it.

count me in!

i will problably have some lag, since i´m on brazil, but i would love to join u guys on europe and show you the world of custom games, the best thing to ever happen to WC3 (since, i suck so much in ladder :D)

the gmt thing is kinda tricky though, since I´m on GMT -3, GMT 19:00 is impossible to me (in weekdays). I will be there at GMT 22:00... hope someone is still in...

cya,

I'd go for the SPFers [SPF] ^^

If we're going to go for a clan tag in our names, I want to get my Myrmidon first before I stop (shouldn't be hard though, only 4 wins away I think  )

Blackjack and Hookers... Yes, we're clan Bah!
Death or Honour... Clan Doh?

I like SPF(ers) as a clan name, but we have to come up with a decent reason for it... Maybe clan Super Power Fish?
And since I don't have an account on B.net yet, I'd go for the clan tag in the name. Also, just PM me if you need an extra person to get the actual clan formed.. Cheers!
