OT - Want join a WC3 clan with NF?

Hey people! As you may or may not know I've recently shifted my gaming interests from D2 to WC3. Currently, I'm considering to start my own clan (with blackjack and hookers! (j/k)) and I was wondering if I might interest some of the good people of the SPF in joining. Quicksilver suggested there might be some interest so I figured it was worth a shot. At worst it's +1 post count for me. (as if I need another post *g*)

Why create a new clan? Well, let me start at the beginning (feel free to skip this if you don't care :D Come to think of it, feel free to not read the entire thread if you don't feel like it)

Anyway, I enjoy WC3 but I prefer team play over solo. Finding a good partner isn't really easy and going with random team is more frustration than fun, too. Why didn't I just join an existing clan? Well, imo all of the clans I saw so far where lacking in some respects, that's why I think the world needs a WC clan that's like the SPF.

Either people were unable to speak coherent english, and I'm not talking about a random typo here, it's like an "AOL chat - Battle.net hybrid" on steroids. Or they required you to be some sort of gosu (gosu = "very good player" for those who don't know that term) in order to join. Or they were just a bunch of immature people flaming the hell out of anything that moves.

Okay, so if exisiting clans weren't for me, maybe a new clan is. What I'd like the policy of this new clan to be is along the lines of this:

- Playing is just for fun, you don't need to be a gosu to join.
- No flaming, bad manners and such stuff. (inside and outside of the clan)
- No excessive use of leet speak or other internet slangs.

edit: This is on Europe (aka Northrend) as I forgot to point out earlier. Also we still need a cool clan tag / name.

Well, I guess that's pretty much it so far. More to come if there is sufficient interest in this. I hope I haven't forgotten anything important as I'll have to stop now (dinner's ready!)

Yeah, I found NF on the forums at WCReplays

Anyway, as any Warcraft players amongst you will likely know, you need 10 people to make an 'official' registered clan on Battle.net. I appreciate we might not be able to get that many, but even so we could just have our small group and make our own private channel.

NF suggested making a webpage for the clan if it goes ahead, and whilst NF isn't able to make one, I could.

Updates on it might be a bit sporadic at times due to the fact that I've started the final year of my A-Level courses at school, and therefore I've got a lot of real-life obligations to come, but I'll do my best!

So far there's me and NF. I know Sutra has Warcraft, and I'll be hoping he can join us once he gets his problems with it sorted - its not running properly at the moment.

Basically, the more the merrier :) We don't care how good you are, since its all for fun (although I must admit I'll cringe when my 9 win 1 loss record on the newest account I made gets significantly worse  )

One more point to make though: we'll be based on the Europe AKA Northrend server. Don't know if that'll be a limitation to anyone. I hope it isn't :)

I'll help you guys reach your 10 if you like. I suck, and I live in North America, so I have no idea how lag will be. I'll give it a shot though. I do like WC3, I wouldn't mind an excuse to start playing again.

I might be interested in this. I have WC3 although I'll admit I haven't played in a while. I've just done about the first half of the campaigns and tinkered around a bit on some random maps. I've actually never tried playing it on battle.net. I have no problem playing on the Europe server since I don't have any accounts set up anyway. I have a high speed connection, but I'm curious if the fact that I'm in the US playing on Europe causes more lag than normal.

Anyway, depending on what type of play schedule you all were thinking, I would be interested in trying this, at least on occasion. I'm GMT -7, and I'm available any time I'm awake on Saturdays and Sundays, and between 6 PM and midnight on weekdays.

Out of curiousity, how does it work on b.net? Are you playing as a team against a computer, or playing against each other, or playing against another clan? Or can you choose between some of these?

I could join. I'm on europe.
I do have little expirience, but my games tend to end to my lose.
I play TFT.

We could either set up custom games to play against computers/other SPFers, or play Arranged Team games where BNet picks another random Arranged Team for us to play against.

(the difference between Random Team and Arranged Team being that in Random Team you can't pick your partners, and in Arranged Team you do)

Nice, there's actually more interest than I had predicted. Seems like the questions people asked where already answered too. :)

Gohan, how about a compromise: We'll give you the blackjack but you have to bring the hookers?

Anyway, it would be great if we could get the necessary number of people. If not we could still band together as an inofficial clan I guess.

Snowmore, RL friend of mine, recent into this forum, was converted by my Mind Blasts, from WC3 to D2.

Knowing that, answer me a simple question: WHAT THE HACK ARE YOU DOING?!? Years and years of work, just to a thread of pure evil SABOTAGE!!!

Just kidding, PM him and he might as well join you, if he isn't in other clans. And he has a pretty good XP in it, too. G/L on lesser gaming material!

Thanks, I hoped that was the case (that there was a choice, I mean)

hey, idd like to join the clan. i have warcraft 3, problem is, i have a very slow connection. so i probably won't be able to play. but i could be like some sort of moral support figure that steals the other orc's food when no ones listening. i could be the man-who-picks-fights-and-then-hides-behind-his-clan. i could be some sort of legendary mythical hero who know one has ever seen. i could be like the sage. i could be the accountant. i could be the guy that markets the clan. i could be the second-after-the-third-in-command. i could be the guy whose responsible for drawing the mascot of the team. i could be tell people i know people who knows people who'se part of a clan who nobody can beat. i could send fear into the worthless little petty minds of our opponents. i could sing warsongs. i could sing warsongs very badly.

i could be part . . . of . . . a group . . . for once.

so? am i in? :spy:

Sure mordalles, why not?

Even if you can't play ladder games, we wouldn't mind a little bit of lag in a friendly custom game

Yay!!!

so, when do we have our annual get together. i'll bring the chips. we have important decisions to make. Like, will i be given an honoury clan crown, or an honoury clan gift basket.

I may join... I don't really play games any more and the little time I have for games usually goes towards playing AT with my friends or solo...

WC3 is the devil

lol seriously. If this were a starcraft clan I'd be in fo sho yo'!

To this day I still play more starcraft than any other game... ever. Except for this one stint I had with diablo 2 1.04. Oh and chrono trigger, but I played that b4 starcraft.

I tried wc3, but it's not my cup of tea. For one it kept crashing on my computer :(
THe game plays slow with all the damn hero lvling up and it lets you get away with so MANY mistakes which can make games drag on and on and on... I just can't get anywhere near the same amount of enjoyment that I do from starcraft. I rocked at wc3, mainly due to my crazy experience with starcraft, but it's just not the same. Wc3 battles always came down to spamming hero abilities and battles ALWAYS ended up being decided by whoever had the higher lvl hero, or if you got lucky enough to find a TP scroll. I haven't bothered with tft

Anyone here want to play some starcraft with me? I'm on msn [email protected]

Don't change only on my account, I'd feel bad. If everyone else who wants to play has TFT, I'll go out and get it. Only $20 or so.

I would like to join aswell, might get my flatmatess off my back. They are both hardout wc3 players and constantly ridicule my still playing d2. Because of them i think im alright, have about a 50% win/loss at level 15 not gosu but ok.

email/msn is [email protected]
