hi all,

since i actually have some girl problems i thought i'd make a post :scratch:

I met this great girl recently, but she's just come out of a relationship and went through a reasonably serious operation last week. (girl stuff) And I'm going away in 10 days. She says she's got too much on her plate atm for a serious relationship and she doesn't want to rush into anything (me). We get on really well, and I thought all was going fine until she dropped that on me. So I'm just going to enjoy the next week and see if there's still something there when i get back (20th jan)

I seem to have a habit of doing this before i leave the country and it sucks.

@rizzo: is that a picture of you or ryan phillipe?

@simeonb: sucks to hear that mate, my little step-bro is going through leukemia treatment and i know how you feel. For me the most annoying thing is not being able to do anything help

oh and also there is something you can do to help when people get chemo. take pictures of them baldand with wiry hair. to bring out on special occasions so you can all have a laugh :lol:

When did you meet the girl? How long ago? And when did she end her previous relationship? I understand why she would say this. Possibly its just to be honest with you, since girls sometimes like to get completely over a previous engagement before advancing into a new one. There could be many other reasons but it's hard to know. How do you feel about it? Have you told her how you feel?

he's an actor. he was in cruel intentions and some movie i saw yesterday about geeks winning out over business.

i met her about a week ago. yeah i've told her how i feel... i'll just wait and see.

I don't know if any of you know anything about leukemia, but he's got AML (acute mysomething leukemia) and he's relapsed. That means he had it once went through chemo and it came back. This isn't good and his chances of living are less than 50%.

I wish him luck, and hopes he makes it through alright.

I think you should take it easy with the girl. No need to rush into anything, and although I know how you feel about it, you'll get her if you don't push too much. She wants to get over the ex completely before comitting herself to you, and that's just great! Take it easy and let it happen when it happens...
My current gf was sad that I didn't recover completely from my ex when I started going out with her. It took about a month before I was ready to move on, and I'm sorry for the hurt it caused my girlfriend. I think your girl just wants to be honest. In my opinion - let her. You won't get hurt that way.

@shermo: Ive played the fireclaws/armageddon bear and it ownz! About your brother...I felt that one m8...I love my brother to death and the thought of losing yours to luekemia must be tough to deal with. I wish him the best and hope for a good recovery. As for your girl situation, I would do what everyone else suggested as well. Potentially there are a million reasons why she could be saying something like that...I do know one thing however....a girl is ALMOST ALWAYS willing to get into a new relationship if shes really into you...since she has reservations about it this means shes not totally head over heels....and the cause of that could be the relationship thing, etc. This isnt a bad thing but it gives you a clue as to where you both stand. I would let it chill until after you get back. If your not totally busy during that time perhaps you could call or write her? Written correspondence is romantic to say the least, because there is surprise and mystery involved. Perhaps a small package and a few letters would do your potential relationship some justice. A few comments and expressions of emotions could work some magic while your away. If you can spend time with her right before you leave it might also keep the "feeling" alive and well.

@grogs - I think your right about the "scheme of things"....IMO work is nothing compared to family...Id work at McDonalds if I had too in order to take care of my family while retaining some measure of flexibilty....but that doenst necessarily mean others could take work like a grain of salt, and find happiness doing something they despise. Wise words from a wise man. Damn that FE bug....its the bane of my HC existence. Always freaking out when I see Fire Enchanted. IIRC Colenzo is the first to spawn, the third is Bartuc.

@corax - Want to hear my friends of high school story? To keep it short my friends and I, well we were a bunch of local toughs. I did grow up in LA. :innocent: When I informed them I was leaving to go to college they got kind of pissed at me, and when they came to visit me at uni one time it ended with me kind of throwing them out. After that they threatened me a couple of times but I was one of the meaner ones so nothing really happened. Two of the original bunch stuck with me...and those are my only real friends to date, along with my wife. Simeon is right, if you can call them up after 3 years than those are your real friends. You always got the SPF. N grats on the redemption....4 soc high ed is worth quite a bit in the trade forum these days.

@Rizzo - making decorations.....you should start your own home show. :lol:

Everyone I graduated with is falling apart...

It seems like everyone around me is falling apart. I mentioned my good friend who had brain surgery earlier. I've learned that he's at home, recovering. I'm going to send him a card when I get the chance.

Well, my newest tidbit is that I kid I graduated with, but wasn't on the greatest terms with is in a hospital in Germany. He was serving in Iraq and was injured in some way. They said it's very serious, but they expect him to survive. Massive internal issues, and back injuries. Aside from that I don't know anything else. It seems like the real world is finding it's way into our small community. You hear about the casualties, but then when you actually know someone who was severly injured, it changes everything. What's worse is that my girl's sister is/was dating him.

I'm just waiting for the news that someone has died, or something else awful.

Had a great day networking on the golf course (well, that's what I'll tell the state manager when I put my expenses through!). Shot a 42 on the back 9 ~ par was 36. It's my third game back after the arthritis and am happy to be back in the swing of things (so to speak). :thumbsup:

@Kaysaar - Sorry to hear of your friend, they do say that bad things come in 3's. Your friend was with the army?? You know, one of the reasons that I would never join the army is I'd hate to be injured/ killed in a foreign country. Don't get me wrong, if someone attacked Australia I'd be in line to defend the place, but to fight overseas, in a country that resents your presence must be difficult at best. I hope your friend makes it through ok and can go home to his loved ones again..........

@Corax - You did get me going! On Uni: uni is as bludgy as you want to make it. I had to have 2 goes at it. first in 94, I went for a few days, decided it wasn't for me and left. After a bit of life experience, I realised it's really, really hard to succeed without a degree, and went back. I found it so much more to my liking after a break, I just wasn't into the drinking and carry on that everyone else was into and my marks were good. I've often thought about going backand doing a masters..... Just part time it'll take far too long.

@shermo: Sorry to hear about your brother, it's a bloody terrible disease. I'm pulling for him. On the girl issue, casual is not a bad thing, I've made the mistake of jumping into a relationship after Simone's death, and that ended very, very, very badly. A break is a good thing and if she needs to be 'single' but still digs you, and you can hang out as friends, then when she's ready it'll happen. On the Fire claw, I've played a claws wolf and it really didn't tickle my fancy. Probably cause I used the aldurs set and even when the build was complete the overall damage was woeful to anything that was fire immune or had decent resistance to fire.

@Corax - Finding something in particular is very hard!!!!! *grumbles about Griz's set*

A note: The 99 quest is still going, 63 /p8 Baal runs to get from 93-94, about 11-12 hrs playing. will start on the 94-95 tonight and work out how long it'll take. Changed my equip, cresent moon was replaced by a heaven's light (33%CB), total CB is now 93%, Baal is a girl's blouse :lol: Interestingly, no decent drops, 3 frostwinds, and zippo else, the WF is weak in me atm.

It's a fine day today. My gf called me earlier to inform me that she had just opened her daily present and to her surprise found some chocolate. She loves chocolate. I love talking to her when she's just waken up, because she sound so sweet. Not that she doens't normally, but especially just after sleeping.

Today I was up at around 8:50 since I started work at 10. I ran to work, but boy was I tired after yesterday (lots of running and workout). I got to work eventually, even took a longer route. I'm off at 1800 so now I'm just bored while I wait for the time to pass. Tonight I'll prolly mf some more to find some more for my grail... yes I have started a grail, but not a standard grail. I just want to grail for the elite uniques so I have one of each. Then give away the rest...
