Yeah, the forums are being wierd. It hasn't shown that anyone has posted after Rizzo's post (#735), but 5 people have. Wierd.

My girl and I are the same. Neither of us like beer, and prefer mixed drinks. I'm a big rum and coke, or bailey's and milk fan. :drink:

uhh, what about White Russian  Tastes grrreat!!
Bailey's is nice too, tho I enjoy it raw just with icecubes... mmm

Hey all:

@crg - I think in Oz we have a slightly different view on alcohol. It is an accepted and even encouraged past time here. From the time you hit high school to the day you die most Australians drink (and auite a few drink alot). It's not a situation that I've ever come across to be honest. I could understand if you were abusive to her when you were drunk (not for a minute suggesting that you are), and she'd have a valid point.

I can relate to your situation on a slightly different level thogh. I used to have a nasty habit (not going into it here), I met my current Gf and she absolutley detested me when I was partaking in said habit. I've since given it up, she's more important to me than (whatever it was).

@Rizzo - Ronin makes a good point, fostering relationships with the opposite sex at work isn't a good idea. It will always end with one person having feelings that go beyond work. these relationships, imagined or not, will affect your career (keep it professional!).

@Ronin - I'm still very early on in the hunt for 99, am lvl95 with 55/211 runs completed on the way to 96. Runs take between 4 - 6 mins (6 mins if the run is full of frenzytaurs and succumbi *HATE blood stars), I've stopped killing anything on the way down and into Baal's throne unless I really have to. I'm expecting 96-97 to be in the order of 500 runs, 97-98 in the order of ~1200, and 98-99, 3000 runs as the exp gained has halved evey lvl since 92. Above 97 it'll take a big dive me thinks, Strijdje will know the correct number of runs

MF = 101% (shako, whisp (11%), perfect mf Geeds), I'm hanging out for a Jah and Ber - don't like my chances though :uhhuh:

finds from lvl 95-96 (so far) include - Widowmaker (Ward Bow) x3, horizons, reapers, frostwind (far too many), sazabi's sword (far too many), tals armour, and harly amongst others. Highest rune (all runs) = Ko

I have tested using more mf, I can safetly switch to an etheral skulders (Ptopaz'ed) to give 118%+24% more mf, for a total of 243%. I've found that I have to be more careful during the runs, therefore they take longer, and it really has made no difference to unique/set drops (completed 50 odd runs from 94-95 in this gear). The only difference is that Baal drops more rares, so instead of the usual 5 blue and a burlywood, I get 5 yellows and a burlywood. I'm at the point where I don't have a great many items to go in the grail (some TC3's and some TC87's), so more mf isn't really a consideration. I'll keep posting the number of runs and finds though.

Hey all, goodmorning :howdy:

Ahh, nice day today. Woke up beside my beautiful girlfriend, she looks so sweet when she's sleeping, and the funny thing is when she lies on her back. Then she snores, but how can someone looking so innocent and beautiful snore?? Makes no sense  hehe!

Thanks all for the input. I think we're past it already, and in the future I will try to keep a professional distance to my coworkers, with the exceptance of 2 guys whom I know pretty okay. That's probably for the best. Thanks again! You're the best.

Have a nice day today everybody! Keep up the good spirit!

Corax: I dreamed I found a stormlash and traded it with you last night hahahaha!

wow the forums are weird...

Anyways, my girl and me have about the same taste in alcohol. We both like drinks best, and dislike beer. I can drink beer, but I don't think it tastes great. We even share a favourite drink: piña colada :)

oh dear, this thread is busted, I must post it until it bursts so that we might all be saved...

dangit, it's gonna take 2 more after this, what a hassle, somebody else post

yea, I realize you can't see this, so there is no way you can respond to my request to post, but I can hope can't I?

*hope*

well this probably makes a triple post unless someone came along to help, I hate when this happens

the problem arises from an error in which the number of posts in the thread, and the listed number of posts in the thread differ

this thread thinks it has 739 replies, but it really has 745 or something like that because it forgot about a couple of them when the forums buggered up yesterday

so far, bumping things until the thread gets to 740 replies and creates a new page to contain that last post has fixed things, hope it works now also

edit-damn I'm good

forgive the many posts, I was fixing the thread

it now acknowledges the proper amount of posts in this thread and the error is gone, it's been doing this for a few weeks, and this is the first time I performed such a drastic and ghastly deed in order to fix it, I feel dirty

oh yea

eww, coconut

Morning Everyone, although your all probably eating dinner right now...I hope you are all doing well.

@grogs - thanks for the info on the baal runs, Im going to equip my hammerdin to do the same thing you are, although lvl 99 is not my goal, rather some TC 87s I would like to get a hold of. :uhhuh: , running pindle has gotten a bit slow for me.

@oapwm - FYI i got the guild wars preorder a while back and participated in last weekends beta event. I can tell you that the game is pretty awesome in some respects: it is not too overly complicated, esp in game controls, the graphics are ridiculously good, the game skills are not really an emphasis (they dont grow in power or ability much from level 1) rather its how you use these skills in combination with your parties skills that makes a difference (strategy, like in HC, is the primary focus), the only good part of leveling is getting new skills to add to your arsenal and to get attribute points. Items make a huge difference as well and I am predicting that items will be an important part but not necessarily a defining factor like in diabloii. Thats my quick assessment. I will be spending alot more time playing this game starting in Feb. because my wife is really excited about it. Dont worry though, Ill still play D2 the same amount, and will set aside time to MP. Hope your doing well.

@the rest of the boys n girls - GDay Aussie sytle. If any of you are getting into guild wars let me know. My name online right now is Grimlock Blackblade (Necro/Warrior), my wifes is Leila Lyttlefoot (Ranger/Monk).

@ the bacons crew - I know that this would most likely be better suited for the trade threads but I refuse to trade with people I dont really know and since I consider you my friends I would like to ask if any of you have lion branded rose charms (pally combat) you would be willing to trade, clean or with second mod. Ive got plenty of items I could trade them for and I know they are hard to come by but I dont think Ill be able to get 6 on my own. Thanks.

Lots going on in RL for me. Biggest on the list is my marriage on the 18th of this month. It's been a long road to get it all planned (started planning it back in January), and it's finally here. People keep asking me, "Are you nervous?". Truthfully, I'm just fine with getting married... it's the technical stuff I'm worried about. I know we're forgetting something, but it won't hit us till the day of. Rings? Check. Flowers and cake? Check. Place, decorations, bridal parties, food, clothing, minister? Check. Really, the only thing we're missing is the marriage license which we have to go get at the courthouse. I think.

Also, we just moved into our first apartment this past weekend, so there's tons of unpacking left to do. I made sure to get the essentials taken care of first, like my computer (and a new install of D2 :D), my TV and PS2, and the microwave. Of course, we're about 2/3 of the way done unpacking, but then again, we have a lot of crap.

In other news, I have a new website up at http://www.animeflux.com which displays most of my artwork to date, although there are several freelance projects going on right now. However, due to the move and the current lack of internet, I can't contact the clients until I get someone out there to hook me up.

For the most part, I think that's it for now. Craziness abounds, and I'll keep posting updates here for those who're interested... *crickets chirping*

Peace.

Congrats Poo!
I'm looking forward to getting married too, tho some years will pass yet.

We are going to Copenhagen this weekend. Cph is the capitol of Denmark and boy am I looking forward to it. I've booked a great hotel and we're just gonna relax and shop and have fun all three days (friday to sunday). :xparty: Hopefully I can find the coat I'm looking for. I've been searching for a special coat a long time now, and Cph is my final bet. I hope I get lucky...

Have a nice evening to y'all. I'm gonna make myself some supper now.

I wonder where Corax is... Haven't seen him all day :xeek: !!!11!one

Corax had mentioned earlier something about a 2 day hike or so... so he could be doing that.

Congrats Kung Poo! I was looking through the stuff on your website and I wish that I could draw like that :p. They're really good.

Rizzo - Have fun in Copenhagen. And you girl's real pretty :wink2: ;)

Me... I'm counting down the days until I go back state side. I'll be home this time next week, and in nine days my girl will be with me!

In the mean time, I've got 3 tests and an essay to write.

Huzzah!

roninDog - sup. I'm doing well thank you, been very busy at work the past few days. Where can I read that guide? Ready to mp whenever you are.

to everyone - I am strongly considering getting a B.A. in Information Systems and Network Security from an online college. This will be a major committment for me considering I am 29 years old, married and 3 children under the age of 5. Not to mention that the price (before grants, gov't loans, etc.) is $68,000. It is something I really want to do. The program is for a B.A. in 3 years. Can anyone give me any insight into this decision? I went to a major university out of high school, but I dropped out due to lack of discipline on my part and lack of proper guidance. Just looking for some opinions, thanks.

Well do you have $68,000 to spare, considering theres no guareenteed job at the end (although the odds of getting a decent job are improved no doubt)? If you can afford it i'd say look into it, see what kind of grants and help you can get, and try to find out the workload. You dont want to end up it either taking up your whole free time, or push you away from your family, or just as bad, stop you playing D2.

@oapwm:

You can find the guide for MP here: http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=285795

As for when to play, how about friday? If we can set it up then we play in SP instead of on Bnet, which would be much cooler IMO.

WTR your situation, are you planning on using your new BA to move ahead in your career, or are you planning on switching careers after you complete you degree? If either are the case then I would say follow your dreams. Im not sure if Information Systems and Network security would apply to being a Kia dealership manager but if it will get you ahead in your career then Id do it or if your looking to change what you do then I would do it as well.

But if you are planning on keeping the job you are in and the degree wont really apply to your work then I wouldnt make an attempt to go through the trouble of college. In many cases college is highly over rated as many people work out of thier fields of education. Not to detract from the importance of education, for a person with no experience it is crucial, but at 29 it is likely that people will look at your work experience more than your education when considering you for employment.

It wouldnt be good if you struggled to get a BA while you had a family only to find your company wont promote you for it or something like that.

Any thoughts grogs? :)

I got sick of Pindle too. The best item I've found in 300 Baal runs thus far is a Griffen's Eye (not too shabby), off Alcamal (Sp?) - run the minions at /p 8 and Baal at /p3 you'll get good drops eventually.

I have a couple of Lion branded charms (both in use sorry :uhhuh: ), but my inventory is bloody full, so if I find any more I'd be more than happy to donate them to you. Remember too that offensive GC's will also boost your hammer damage by about the same amount (increasing conviction aura).

@K_P - Congrats on the marriage! It's a big step but one that no doubt will birng you alot of joy and happiness!

@Opawn
Not to mention that the price (before grants, gov't loans, etc.) is $68,000

That's crazy! I'm glad my education cost a fraction of that! Seriously though listen to Ronin. I'm 28 and have a degree in Commerce (Marketing Major) and work in the construction industry. When you get to our age it's not the degree that matters so much as your work history and the 'fit' with the company. Make some enquiries in the IT field, put your feelers out and ask some questions - A question costs nothing to ask, but an answer can be priceless, and can save alot of pain down the track. You may even find that with your work history, a degree may over-qualify you for an entry level position (which is all you'd be shooting for if you have no practical experience in the industry - that is, unless you're going for CEO :uhhuh: ), and a certificate or diploma (less time and money) would suffice.

If you are doing this to further your current career, see if your work will foot the bill. I know that my company will pay for a post grad degree that has related benefits, if that's what I wanted to do. I've even got a friend at work who is completing a post grad cert in Finance - works paying for it even though it's very loosely related to our industry.

In saying that, if it's your dream to do this, go for it. You'd be better off doing it now, than waiting till the kids get older and therefore more financially demanding. Out of interest, what does your wife say on the matter?

- Grogs

@Ronin - we always tend to agree

@ Rizzo - Nice shot of the Gf, Kaysaar is right she is very attractive, but I guess you know that :uhhuh: Have a good trip too.....

If you can afford it i'd say look into it

@Bob - I doubt that there are too many 29 year olds that can afford to give up work for full time study, and pay Uni/ College fees.

In Oz (and Nz), we have a system called HECS (higher education contribution scheme). Basically the fedral govt. subsidises most of the fees for a student at uni, they have to pay only a fraction of the actual cost of the education they recieve. HECS was set up as a stop gap, so middle to low income families weren't disadvantaged in sending their kids to uni. It's basically a loan from the commonwealth govt that pays your fees for the duration of your degree. It's paid back when you start your career and earn over a certian threshold. In Oz this 'loan' is indexed to the CPI (~3% P/a), though in Nz, the loans attract market interest rates (~8%).

It's a fair system, that allows anyone with the gumption to obtain a higher education. Now I know things are different in the US (the fee structure is much higher for example), but surely you have a similar student loan scheme????? Otherwise how could anyone afford to go to Uni?

ARGGGHHH!

Just had a phone call from a client that I've an outstanding proposal with. We got done on the job unfortunately :xx: Got absolutley carted on price, which makes me wonder what the hell I thought I was looking at??????

It's a strange industry I'm in, whereby you know that your competitors will always be around 10% diff. in price. The company I work for is a multinational and therefore our cost structure is high, even though I manage the branch it doesn't give me the autonomy to price jobs as I see fit.

Sure you get some economies of scale as you grow, mainly through national deals with suppliers and the like, but competing with one-man bands, with next to no overheads can be difficult. It's taken me 9 months of being up here to get to know the market and I thought I knew which battles to fight. I was wrong on this occasion.

I'm ranting a bit I know, but it was a kick in the balls, as I put a hell of alot of work into the proposal - I even asked for help from the state office, as I knew it was a strategically important client and one my main competitor in the area would want.

I can only come to the conclusion that he 'bought' the job. I know full well that the hours, materials, and equipment were spot on, I'm sure I asked the right questions, and provided long term solutions to the client, and I still lost the thing...........

Anyway, you can't win them all (though I like to), I take these types of losses personally. I know people say that a jobs a job (and I've done so myself), but that is only true when there are more important things going on in your life. I take pride in the work that I do and I like to win, I see the corporate world as a competition and God knows I'm competitive :uhhuh:

Anyway thanks for listening..........

-Grogs

Forgot to add the daily update:

PalaGrogs (yeah, original name) is sitting at 2.597 billion exp. - lvl 96 is sill ~ 120 million away (120 runs). Completed 38 odd runs last night. Had to give Rebecca some quality time, and will have to do it tonight too as she's starting to think I love the computer more than her (stupid game she calls it  )

Notable finds - Nothing, that's right, NOTHING. The only items I put in my stash were a 4os Sacred Armour and an eth paly shield (41% resist all).
