Rename the most recent .org to .d2s to get a char backup?

I doubt it would be a flavie problem, flavie doesn't modify your character in any way that i'm aware of. Unless it's the GoMule version, it's just using ATMA to generate the txt files to read from.

Acutally do it the otherway around. Start off with the oldest .org file and when you get one that works put it to one side. Then try the next newest. That way you won't overwrite one that does work by continually making backups.

That did the trick, thanks a million Silospen and Thyiad! :flowers: That's a big load off my chest. She's only just in act2 normal so no big loss there, but the loss of a number of tc3's and a khalim's flail would have been slightly more worrying.

I too doubt flavie has anything to do with it, but the weird thing is that my report update was the only operation in which the save file was (even remotely) involved...

I quit the game the day before yesterday and she was all fine. Yesterday, I updated my flavie report, but didn't get around to actually playing the game (and use atma) until much later, at which point I first noticed she wasn't in the character screen. So, besides the flavie update, she hadn't been touched in any way, yet somehow the .d2s file had been corrupted. .d2s files can't just randomly corrupt, can they?

Kind regards,

St. Anger

Items don't physically become tainted. Tainted is just a label given to items by members of this forum.

I'm sure you're aware of the various mods and such that you can get for Diablo 2 and how although it is possible to trade between mods, this isn't allowed without changing your mod status.

For instance, if you're playing vanilla (Diablo 2 without any other modifications) and you decide to create a character that uses the RWM (Rune word mod, allows online only runewords in single player), then the character that uses RWM would have been tainted by the mod. As would all their items, past, present and future.

So basically if you transfer items from your RWM character to your vanilla character in the example above, your vanilla character has become tainted by RWM and must now change it's mod status to be RWM.

Get it? :)

lol yeah i just thought there was more to it

ATMA help

Wtf?

I had six characters named ''setsI'' up to ''setsVI'' and I decided to make a sets stash instead. So I did, I created a stash named ''sets'' and moved all my green items to it. I saved, closed ATMA, and started playing. Now I opened ATMA and there's no sets.d2x file, anywhere! What happened? Where's the file? Is there anything I can do??

I have a backup of my save folder, but they're all .d2s characters, and it's gonna be a pain finding out what has been moved from them and what hasn't... =/

Thanks in advance and sorry if this is the wrong place for this.

When you open atma, there should be a list of characters on the left side, with a bunch of tabs (d2s, d2i, etc.). Take a look at the d2x tab; it should show you all the stashes opened by ATMA; yours should (in theory) be there...

If not, you could always do a file search for *.d2x and see where they all live.

I don't see it in the tabs nor could I find it with the file search. I'm screwed, right? But what did I do wrong? I made the stash, moved the items onto it, and saved. Did I have to do anything else? :undecided:

Please use the ATMA stickied thread. There is a Guide to ATMA in the first post of this thread. Have a read of that. Check the menus and under View menu ensure you can see the control bar.

Use the search on the start menu to find where .d2x files live. Mine live in my save folder. I can't remember where they default to.

Sorry about the wrong place thing.

I did use the search on the start menu and the control bar was on. I don't see the ''Sets.d2x'' file anywhere in my computer.

You have the latest Atma version, right?

.d2x files should default to C:/program files/Atma V/Atma_Config. If you've installed it on your C:, that is. That's where mine are located, at least.

If the .d2x files don't exist, there is a chance they were never created (happens when autosave is off in atma) and that your items are still where they originally were before you moved them.

Hope that helps,

St. Anger

Ironically, the .org backup of the stash was in my save folder, so I renamed it back to sets.d2x and everything's fine now. Well, except for the whole 'wtf' factor, lol. I guess I'll keep my stuff in .d2s mules.

Thanks for the help, folks.

I suspect my question could perhaps be answered somewhere in this thread, but search hates me :/

I have never actually used the backup function in ATMA - on my old computer, I just emailed myself the active files that appeared on the list when you open ATMA (and wound up not using them, deciding to restart from scratch).

I just had a weird problem with a character and needed to get an orb back. (Not sure what precisely caused it: died, only one time - clicked corpse - got ammy, ring, and belt but when I s/e and opened ATMA, discovered that the orb was nowhere. I wasn't lacking stats to equip it - the only thing I can think of was that I'd had /nopickup enabled.) So I checked the thread & realized that I needed to rename a .org file to get it back. All fine and good - except that now somehow I have a file in the ATMA active file with her wearing belt, ammy, and ring (and a bunch of charms, gems, potions), and then I have ANOTHER file with all that stuff plus the orb. HAX! I do not want duped stuffs! I tried clicking Delete, can't delete. Tried right-clicking to choose delete - no luck there either.

I think I can solve this by creating a new character, transferring all the 'duped' stuff to it, creating a game, tossing it all on the ground, and exiting. But somehow I think there is an easier way to do this - surely this is not the 'normal' procedure? I'll get it sorted out - just would like to understand this in case I ever have a problem again.

Re: Muling & Reporting: The ATMA/GoMule/Flavie Thread

(I figured out how to determine what was duplicates - probably took the long way about it, but anyway, everything that came up as a double was in that one stash & I was able to delete the whole stash.)

As you can see from the picture, I have a small, yet a very annoying problem with ATMA. The problem doesn't occur just after I install ATMA, but after a while it starts to create folders (which in reality do not exist) which are named after a random piece of my stash names. And even though I delete them, they reappear when I launch ATMA again.

Suggestions?

that's a common prob..

go to the ATMA_CONFIG folder within your ATMA folder.

open the text files ATMA_charview, ATMA_stashview etc.. they're cfg files but can be opened with notepad.

delete the items you don't want to show in atma =)
