Muling & Reporting: The ATMA/GoMule/Flavie Thread ifra

Normally I don't pick up unique or set items if I already have 2 or more of them but I recently thought that might not be such a good idea. Those could be good for trades or give aways.

Is there any limit to my stash size in ATMA? I currently have about 900 items in it.

The file format has a 16 bit counter in there, that would set the max at a little more as 65k items.

Normally you hit performance problems before hitting this limit

In goMule, is there a way to change which project opens when you start the program? (there probably is but I can't figure it out :undecided: )

Hum ... I've encoutered a weird problem with ATMA.

I transfered some stuff from my character to my Stash, then pressed the Save All Button and the application froze and closed down. Now when I re-opened it, I was able to load my d2s character file without a problem but when I try to load the d2x stash file, nothing happens. Anyone know how to fix this?

BTW, Diablo II was not running when I did all this.

@GoHabsGo:

Check the backup ATMA creates. In the directory where the d2x file is, there are files with the same name but the extension org. The one with lowest number is the latests backup.

I know ATMA hasn't been updated in forever, but if it ever does can the drop calc for 1.09 include up to players 64?

Hi, I don't know if I have to post this here or somewhere else, but just while working I had a blue screen while my Itamz.d2x was allready open for over 2 days without saving.

I don't know which items I haven't been able to recover, I think I lost at least this one, because my org files didn't go back that far:

Last one, and in case I ever decide to go in trade pool (which I doubt), I should have mentioned these kind of things, don't I?

I have never heard of this, why should you ?

In any case, this thread is not the place for that unless you have a question about ATMA/GoMule. (Or if you need help recovering a stash)

Randall

Some people say that if you recover items lost through stupidity then you've done something wrong, they should have remained lost. Others say those people are idiots.

My rule of thumb is that if I feel I've done something that's incorrect, I should announce it.

Anyways, wrong thread like Randall said, just add it to your trade profile.

I think this is a problem with Windows Vista and its interactions with ATMA, but I can't figure it out.

When I go to backup my ATMA files (I believe the .d2s files are safe from this), I go through and make sure older files are deleted. I also want to begin using Flavie, so I want to make sure old items are deleted.

Anywho, when I go to look for recent trade stashes in my atma_config folder, my default for all of my stashes, the new stashes are not there, and neither are their backup .org files. A search for them via explorer does not bring them up.

However, when I open the file in ATMA, ATMA says that the file should be in that main folder, that when I save it a backup is made, that everything should be all hunky-dory.

So how can I get around this? Occassionally, I have gotten an error message saying "backup file was not created," but that only happens once for each file, and never happens again.

What's going on here? Are these files hidden from me?

Vista you say, yes they could be "hidden".

First, check your user profile directory to see if you can find your stashes there. (search for anything with .d2x on any harddisk you have if you can not find them)

More technical: I'm not sure this is what happening for you, but it could. For Vista, when programs are installed in the "program files" directory, it can not "touch" this "Program Files" directory anymore while running normally. If a program still attempts to touch the "Program Files" directory, it is redirected to an user directory instead.

Personally, I've placed my stashes as a subdirectory in the save directory. In case of multiple versions or tournaments, I use multiple save directories, each capable of having it's own sub directories with stashes belonging to the characters in the main save dir.

This way characters + stashes are grouped together by file structure and backup up is more "easy" as you only need to look into one location.

Randall

For Vista users:

I found that windows has moved my stashes (kind of like a save as) into a hidden folder. I had to unhide it via the control panel.

c:\<user>\appdata\local\virtual store\ATMA V\ATMA CONFIG

I have a hunch that if I run ATMA as an administrator (right click -> run as administrator), that it would save them to program files separately.

(a side note: although my user name is an administrator, I am not THE adminstrator, which causes me to go through three extra steps (right click -> run as administrator, confirm that I am doing the action, and give the action permission) to change a setting. Basically, Vista thinks I am an idiot and can't keep virus protection and firewall protection on my comp.

I will try and move my stashes to the DII folder and see if they save there. I'm already in a slight mess to figure out what stashes are the current versions (although I believe I have that sorted out).

I have aquestion about Flavie, how do I open the Flavie.jar? Windows just says it can't recognise the file, so with what should I open it?

Edit: Thanks
