Awesome I dunno if it was a matter of installing again or if it was a matter of changing the the dir and trying but it works now
If you were trying to start it from the wrong directory earlier, that's what caused the problem.

The "Skip" stuff is unimportant. I think Randall commented it somewhere in the thread already.

Im having a hard time setting up flavie on my MAC. the screenshot is down from the website that shows how to set it up and the directions are confusing me (not sure if they are for mac or pc).

Plus it seems like ATMA must be installed to use flavie ,right?

if so then MAC's cant use this program then.

bah

:confused2:

kudos for gomule though not sure if I would be playing D2 anymore without it.

If you can launch GoMule, you should be able to get a Flavie report. You don't need ATMA. Your GoMule window should have a button in the lower left corner "Flavie"- just press that, wait around just a bit if your stashes are huge, and then look in your GoMule directory for an html file with the report.

That button could be hiding behind the window menu.

I will move that button to a different place for a next release, so it becomes more visible. Doesn't some (smaller as with Flavie) dialog popup when it's finished?

I get no dialog box on my Mac. Confirmation would be nice, the duplicates warning was nice when I used Flavie separately.

I've not used Flavie for a while now, I'll take a look in adding some confirmation at finish and possibly some progress status as long as Flavie is running.

Technically I should be able to add "progress" to just about every part there is (reading items, creating reports). Connecting it so it becomes visible is a bit of a trick though.

Randall

I'm not sure if you're actively developing Flavie anymore, but I've got a feature request for it, or GoMule's reporting.

Feature Request:
On the item report that is generated, it would be nice if each category title (Normal Helms, Normal Armor, etc) was a link to the appropriate Arreat Summit page.

Would be very handy for me, by saving a trip to google to look up that item on the report.

Thanks for developing a some great gamer tools.

The standalone (old) version of Flavie is not active anymore.
GoMule's "Flavie" will have options for further development

The html is actually generated by the standard.dat file, you can create such links yourself by adding the http links to this file. (in the correct places, which off course is not documented)

Randall

Beautiful, works great. When I'm done adding links, I could probably host and post a link to the standard.dat if anyone's interested.

While we're on the topic, is there any good reason for making the window so large by default, rather than having it maximised?
As it is now, whenever I start gomule the bottom part is outside the edge of the screen.
Also, if I minimise a child window (e.g. the clipboard) before I resize/maximise the main window, the minimised icon ends up (partly) "outside" the main window, unreachable.

Doesn't some (smaller as with Flavie) dialog popup when it's finished?
Some extra info here might be nice too, at least the location of the report. (Maybe as a link even?)

Flavie and/or ATMA bug report:
Flavie v1.4 (beta 11)
ATMA v5.05

Not sure if it can be easily reproduced, if it's been reported before, if it was Flavie or ATMA, or if it's even worth investigating, but here's what I was doing:

1. ATMA was open, however the file (runes.d2x) that I wanted the flavie report for was just closed. That stash file was changed within the active session of ATMA, so the ATMA generated .txt file should have been out of date (since I never update those files myself).
2. Open Flavie, change the output settings to whatever and list only the runes.d2x file as the source for the report.
3. Generate .txt and .html report files in Flavie, as normal.

... although the usual message appeared when generating the .txt files ("Generating ATMA text files for file <whateverpath>\runes.d2x" - or whatever the usual message is), from what I suspect the file wasn't generated properly. When I looked at the report, the rune quantities weren't updated from the last time I used Flavie (~3 months ago). Likewise, the runes tab in Flavie was also out of date.

To work around the problem:
1. In ATMA, open runes.d2x, make a minor addition/subtraction, and save the file again.
2. Close the ATMA application completely
3. Regenerate .txt and .html files in Flavie, as normal.
... after ATMA was fully closed the stash contents were reported properly from Flavie.

I know this has been posted, but after a long time of searching, I've come up with a possible answer which conflicts with what I expected. These were found through google. It came up with the old text sheet, and I have no clue on which pages they're on. Sometime in 2005.

This means that a few superuniques are being listed as not being able to drop certain items. From the bug report by Adeyke:

For example, hell Griswold is a boss (has a 1 in the boss column of monstats.txt) and a superunique. That means he has mlvl = the value in monstats.txt + 3 = 84 + 3 = 87. Instead, ATMA lists the area level + 3 = 76 + 3 = 79. This means, for example, that he's listed as not being able to drop Arachnid Mesh, even though he really meets both the TC and mlvl requirements for that.

have uploaded version 5.04e of ATMA which fixes a few issues

Fixes a bug in the DropCalc for boss superunique monsters in Nightmare and Hell modes where it was using the area level as the monster level
My ATMA (v5.05) says that Griswold can't drop Arachnid's, however, that was supposedly fixed.
Can he drop it, and what can't he drop?
