Muling & Reporting: The ATMA/GoMule/Flavie Thread ifra

The error can be caused by wrong version. For example if you mule the item from 1.09 character directly to 1.11 character, the 1.11 character will get corrupted. The right procedure is upgrade the 1.09 character in game to 1.11(just open it and save it), then mule the item.

1.10 and 1.11 items are compatible iirc.

IIRC there are safeguards in place to prevent direct muling from 1.09 to 1.10/1.11. The way it looks in his post he's imiporting/exporting items, which is not only probably the wrong way to go about things, but also something I don't know well how it works, so it's probably the source of the problem.

The safeguards only exist in 5.04+, I believe .. if he has an older version, then I can see it happening

Wouldn't pre-5.04 ATMA not load 1.10 files to begin with? Wait... what version is this on again? Ah hell, it was just speculation, I could be completely wrong. >.>

EDIT:
By the way, Doc, this may be slightly off topic, but I believed at some point you were talking about being willing to hand out the source code to earlier versions(v2.0 or somesuch) of ATMA. Are you still willing to do so? I need something to occupy my time with that's related to, well... programming, and I figured this would be an interesting thing to look over. ;P

Then again I could remember wrong. ;)

Any news on that search function, Doc? "+24 poison resist, ring, +mana" or "+1skill, 20% fcr" that sort of thing. You know so it picks up the items with those stats? *begs* I have 11k items *pleads*

@dune6836:
I've seen it more regularly lately as well, specially with testing GoMule at the same time. (I don't have Norton though).

One piece of advice though: Create more backups yourself (even if only zipfiles on the same HD)

i make more or less monthly backups of all my chr and stash files (as well as many other things not related to diablo) off drive.

as far as atma is concerned the problem persists. the chrs i have played most often in recent times now have 0 org files. it seems that atma deletes 1 org file per save but isnt replacing them. i get the failed to create backup every time i save a chr file

this is only chr files though, .d2x files are working as they always have, creating org files every time they are saved.

apart from installing norton i have also updated internet explorer and dl'd several windows updates recently.

i have poked around as much as i can and cannot find any reason for this behaviour. i guess i will just have to learn to live with clicking the error box away every time i use atma and not having any chr .org files. :( dune

Help

Can someone please tell me how to load, or where to find, my backed up character files on ATMA? I screwed something up and need to reload a stash. Is this possible?

You should have a series of files named <yourstashname>.org, I forget the exact filenames, but they're labeled 1-9. Find the most recent (#1) and rename it to .d2x, and that should work for you. Good luck!

Can we change an ATMA file name?

Here's the problem:
I created a stash called HC Socket Filler. It contains all my:
Gems
Runes
Jewels

It is now over 2,000 items, so it takes almost 30 seconds to load. I would like to change the name of this stash, and create one for runes and one for jewels so that each one will be smaller, and the newly renamed one will have the gems.

Can it be done?
IF so, please explain in detail because I'm not too swift at manipulating files.
Thanks.

I had the same problem with my Jewels PGems stash.

I used windows explorer to rename the Jewels Pgems stash to Jewels
Then I entered ATMA and reloaded the directory to get the new Jewels stash showing. I also created a new PGems stash in ATMA.

Then I had both stashes opened and moved items from one to the other.

You will be creating two new stashes but the theory is the same. Enjoy!

@Luca Rescigno:
I found out what problem caused it, that some of your chars/stashes were not loading.
You seem to have items with this "GUID", those are 1.10 beta items. I read this GUID wrongly which caused that GoMule stopped loading them.

GoMule R0.11 will fix this, and as soon as freewebs will allow me to upload it, it will be available. (It's very slow at the moment)

Wow, you drag each gem separately. Doesn't that take a lot of time ?

I've improved this process slightly within GoMule, the start is the same:
- Rename stash
- create new stash
- open both stashes
But now comes the trick, in gomule (starting from R0.11) you can filter all gems.
Once all are filtered you can select them all with CTRL-A, click "pickup" to put all selected items into the "gomule clipboard".
Now goto the gems stash and click "dropall". All gems are now moved from one stash to another.

GoMule is getting stable, I still have not seen (myself or people telling me) GoMule corrupted a stash or character since R0.8
But still, I advise the use backups and check with ATMA afterwards if you do such a trick with stashes.

GoMule R0.11 released

Changed in R0.11:
- bugfix: 1.10 beta items (those with GUID) can be read
- increased amount of filters (for armor/socketed/misc), now belts, gems and that kind of stuff can be filtered. (weapons is still missing)
- increased item info in tooltip/clipboard info. This is still not complete, it could actually be incorrect (don't trust it very much yet). This is work in progress, but I wanted to release the bugfix for 1.10 beta items.

At the risk of looking like a complete muppet, I am trying to install Flavie on my laptop but I can't work out which bit of jar to download. I read the instructions and looked for JRE on the website but I am still puzzled. Help please! (Or tell me how to run the copy on my desktop computer from the laptop.) Ta

Well, I think that he is saying that if you're using gomule, you don't/can't do that. Instead, every item you click on is added to a list and then is able to be transfered to any other account from there. Using gomule eliminates that dragging part, and apparently also allows you to select every gem through one click (haven't used it yet so I'm asumming this is what it's saying)

...mutters something about how this should have been made two months ago before he sat down for 2 hours and hand dragged each gem into a new stash...

At least you got it now! :king:

... but I can't work out which bit of jar to download ...

I presume you mean which bit of java, it's called the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), the current version is 6.

From this page it's the 4th download:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

Is there another way I'm missing? I drag all my gems separately in ATMA.

You can move multiple items in GoMule (but only between stashes it's really shines)

You can move 1000+ items within a matter of seconds from one stash to another stash.

GoMule R0.12 released:

Changed in R0.12:
- added list of characters/stashes for fast opening (each character/stash opened the normal way is added to this view) Double click here to open.
- added the possibility of SC/HC/All setting. If SC is set, you can only open Softcore characters and stashes with the naming convention of SC (name starting with "SC_"). The default (All) setting works like ATMA, everything can be opened.
- Bank of GoMule (transferring gold from and to characters)
- projects: the character/stash list, the SC/HC setting and the bank of GoMule are for each project. Starting a new project you have a new char/stash list, a new SC/HC setting and a new bank of GoMule.

Little ATMA bugreport maybe?

Sometimes it adds some weird, non-existing directories in the character & stash listing windows. I guess couple of pictures show it the best:

http://user.personal.fi/private/lprman/misc/atma1.jpg
http://user.personal.fi/private/lprman/misc/atma2.jpg

As you can see, there is 2 of those folders (light & e). There is nothing inside them, they do not exist anywhere, but they are shown in the ATMA file listing. Often (if not always) those 'ghost' directories have a name which resembles a name of one of my characters or stash (like Twilight <--> light)...also, now one of the directories is there twice, and the only stash in it is listed 3 times.

Usually I have got rid of them by uninstalling ATMA and deleting all the leftover files. Today I only uninstalled ATMA and left the folder and the few files in it untouched, then reinstalled to the same folder. Result: the unnecessary garbage didn't disapper. I peeked into the files the uninstaller didn't remove (ATMA_charview.cfg, ATMA_stashview.cfg...). They seem to contain the list of directories and files which are shown in the file browser, and those useless lines were there. I deleted the cfg-files, reloaded the character/stash files in ATMA and now it seems to work properly again.

I just wonderred why those unnecessary lines were added into the configs.
