MF Barbarian

I was getting bored with mfing with a sorc so i read around a bit. I have seen some mentions of MF barbarians but i can't find a thread about it nor a guide about one in a sticky so i was wondering, how do you build one? Do you use the magic find skill or is it just a normal mf char?

Re: MF Barbarian

I dont have experience with one, but i imagine it'd be an area-killer. U'll have to use find item to maximize his potential. It'd look something like this:

20 ww
20polearm mas
20 bo
1 pt wonders
20 berserk/conc/shout
rest into iron skin/nat res

equipz:

arreats/shako
enigma
upp'ed goldwrap
travs
chancies
highlords
ravens
wisp

switch 2x ali baba with 2x ist each

pits, tunnel, cows, trav, all ur mini bosses like pindle, shenk, etc=ez
not recommend wsk or diablo, u might get fried by IM. WW the pack, use FI after u finished the pack. if u really wanna do bosses, max berserk instead of shout, and get 1 pt battlecry for easier hitting.

Re: MF Barbarian

Polearms are too slow. A sorc could get by with an Isted Occy, Isted Shako, Isted Skulders Ire, and the rest of her gear be MF and if the build is good still have a decent chance of killing Hell Meph or Pindleskin. A Barb needs things like LL, A high damage weapon, AR, and usually DR to even survive Hell and actually kill things. That doesn't leave as much room for gear.

Some good options are IK help with 2 perf Topes + IK boots. None of the other IK items add MF but they do add other useful stats for survival.
If you can get your hands on Tal Rasha's Guardianship using it with the belt and helm gives you 163-172% MF while adding some nice stats. (The armor alone is amazing)
Harlequin Crest can help a barb almost as much as a sorc and can give you 74% MF
Skullder's Ire upped to elite has great MF and the +1 to skills but not much else.
Goldwrap (upped at least once for 4 potion slots) has the 30% MF and the 10% ias can help you reach a break point.

As for builds there are many great guides here. I would go for one of the cookie cutter builds such as Halciet's Concentrate guide or a WW build which the link to is broken but is basicly
20 WW
20 BO
20 Weapon Mastery (Swords are a common choice)
20 Shout
and at least 1 point in Berserk, Find Item, and Natural Resistance, and Increased Speed (You'll be doing a lot of running). Don't be afraid to put a couple of extra points in Natural Resistance if you are planning to sacrifice survival gear for MF gear.
Then just get the best gear you can for surviving and beating hell. Once you reach the point where you are Surviving Hell and killing fairly quickly you can slowly switch out regular gear for MF until you find a balance you are happy with.
I hope that helps.

Re: MF Barbarian

Polearms are too slow? Are u kiddin me? Tals on barb? U high on crack? Shako? what are u, a sorc? Skulders?!??! Eww. Swords?!??? WTF?

Seriously, u dont know what barbs mf for. A barb is not gonna run his *** with 600% mf while tryin to kill meph. Heck, barbs arent even supposed to kill meph, its a waste of time. Barbs aint sorcs, u dont stack MF gear on him and expect him to kick *** because he cant. Polearms are the ideal weapons because they have a combination of range, speed, and damage. Also, how does my build not give enough survivability? Arreats=30res, anya=30 res, torch+anni=atleast 20 res, lvl10 nat res=~55 res, that gives u a total of atleast 35 res in hell. stick an um rune in ur arreats and u have 50 all res in hell. With highlords and wisp, u wont have probs vs lightning enchanted. Raven solves ur cold problems, while arreats give u leech. Fire res is overrated and psn isnt even a problem. This aint PVP, u dont need a single %DR, monsters dont have 50k def, u dont need massive AR. As for ur high dmg weapon, Im pretty sure polearms will give u some good dmg(12k+ ww 15k+ berserk easily).

U better back up ur posts with some solid knowledge before actually posting them.

Re: MF Barbarian

Calm down Smackin, JooJooMolly wasn't trashing your idea just giving some other well thought alternatives. I used to have a mf ww barb back in the day that just wore the IK set. IIRC he had about 350 ish mf and could kill basically anything in hell. Having dual ali baba's on switch with the find item skill is key. Horking corpses yielded numerous goodies.
