Merc Weapons for WW Barb

First, allow me to give you my important Barb gear. BotD Zerker Axe, Beast Zerker Axe, Fortitude, Dracs, Dungos, Gore Riders. (Don't lecture me on using Doom )

So what weapon should I go for on my merc?

I have a 213% ED Reaper's Toll but was also considering Infinity and Obedience. Thoughts?

I think the toll is hard to beat as a merc weapon.

A decreep proc does add good dps for you.

The merc's equipment should include something with an aura or something which casts a curse on the enemy... or both, on top of life leech, IAS and maybe resists and FHR. Regarding the weapon, I would go for Reaper's. I'm not sure about the IAS breakpoints for a thresher, I read about different values all the time. The German calculator says 22% and 42% IIRC while I've read about other values elsewhere. That makes it a bit difficult to decide about what to socket Reaper's with.

Obedience is a great and inexpensive merc weapon if you don't want him to cast curses on a hit and if you don't really need an additional aura. The mercs of my fana-zealot (using Dracul's) and of my strafer (using Atma's Scarab) use that runeword.

You only need Infinity if your barb has problems to hit enemies, but even then I don't think that this runeword will be worth the runes needed. I guess you could as well use a blessed aim merc (normal act 2 offensive) with Reaper's then.

That depends on his armor, but if Infinity was among the options vfor the weapon, I assume that he will get eth Fortitude. Reaper's already has enough leech and you can add Shael for IAS, so maybe Guillaume's is good, maybe filled with an IAS jewel, Um or Shael (merc have very bad fhr breakpoints).

As krischan said its all dependant on his other items and what you use him for.

My toll merc has a Gladiators bane and a CoA with sol's but thats because i want him to survive pit vipers and tank like a mofo.
You on the other hand is a Barb so youre quite tanky yourself so you might want to go for the better dps you get out of Gullaumes.

Many ppl need the helm slot for leech but reapers toll has enough leech by itself to free up the helm slot for what ever you want
