Median XL general chit chat

Mystic orbs also have +5 to single resist, use those. And those resist gems are really good, they give + max resist aswell. I can't remember when tier 6 starts dropping, but you could make honorific t6 leather gloves and MO them for big resist. That sacrifices the glove slot for a crappy pair with only +resist, but its worth it in some cases. T6 can get 4os, if you are in a pinch you could use lower tiers, but then you'll have less than 4 os. I can't remember seeing cbf on any item, other than on Idol of Vanity.
 
Yeah, screw my previous questions I went a lot farther..

I'm now trying to do the Binding of Tal Rasha quest at lvl 83.

Most of the items are the same, only upgraded to T3, body armor T4, weapon T5. I have 77 allres, 87 fire ( kali gloves ). I still die real easy. What's going on?
 
Did you summon them in a corner? When I did it, I managed to summon Tal Rasha with only one mage. You have to lure the mage out, and kill him without being hit... well, that's for ranged chars.
BTW, Tal Rasha pierces through resists, can't remember how much
 
I tried the corner thing.. doesn't work, all the mages come out.
My character isn't ranged ( she's a spearazon ). I was able to do it on Hatred.

I MO'ed my stuff like crazy.. I think I have 200% allres, how much is needed? Actually I can tank their elemental attacks mostly. It's the melee hits that kill me ( they have 19% chance to hit ). Does being in Baal form give any advantage?

Edit: Never mind, I did it, the solution was simply to go up to lvl 90 and use Curare.

Another question: How do I get those huge str req for sacred items? I need huge dex req for pike too..

Also, I'm having a hard time trying to manage inventory. Do you think this item is worth keeping?

You'll get many charms from ubers as soon as you get to terror, that boost your stats.
And you'll find many sacred items... You can keep the rare ones you want to use for crafting...

I need some serious melee help. How do you stop getting owned by poisons and random elemental damage ( like corpse lord's deaths, thunderfury's, etc. ) Resists maxed btw. Also, do the rock titans in Nihl temple actually have thorns aura?
 
Don't know about the last question.
Anyways, I guess you've done Anya quest on some difficulties, so I suggest you make sure your resists are maxed without the bonus (10%) from the quest. Why? Every time you die, the bonus disappears, but it's not shown on your char screen.
Second, I read on your posts that you used the Uber Skill "Curare", the one with poison damage. You should at least try Paragon (assuming you are talking about your spearzon), which gives you a very good boost to health.

Resists are still maxed even then..

I guess I could try Paragon but honestly curare is too good to pass up. What kind of life bonus are we looking at? Currently I have 4500 life.

Also, I have completed every challenge and minigame except black road challenge ( three done ). I'm getting destroyed in faustinville. What the hell? Should I just move to destruction and do uberquests instead ( and come back later? ).
 
I went in Destruction with my Ama and done some ubers, but I get raped where it's not easy. So I decided to try with a barb...
Anyways, you can try and do some ubers on Destr to get some charms, which might help you. I've only gotten 3 (Butcher's, Creature of Flame, and the one in the snakes valley). But you wont become godly with them. You need gear upgrades (Sacred Uniques... I found 3 without farming, and I need none of them)

About Paragon: I have 19 Gems, lvl 15 skill. without gear, I have 4k life, with gear I get to 7.9k...
It's up to you, I guess.
 
I don't know which build you are following, so I don't know if it says you need runewords or uniques.
Generally s.uniques are better than runewords, that's why I said it. But if you want to try sacred items, you need alot of stats, so probabily the best option is to get to destruction and get some charms that boost your stats. Or farm for uniques, and then make signets of learning
 
Ah, never mind, I don't think I will play MXL any more.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed playing hatred and terror and leveling up to 120. And I think the items are very well thought out.
It's just that the enemy monsters really annoy me, they spawn 1 million summons or do huge damage on death and the screen is full of so much crap that lags and is difficult to make out anything. This wasn't something I had expected in this mod honestly.
I think I will do all the ubers on hatred, just for the feeling.

Edit: Forget all that.. I respec'ed to wyrmshot bowazon. It's great!
What is your equipment for this? I am using a rare bow with 530 avg damage but it's just fine I think.. Dragonheart armor, siegfried helm, all sacred. I can kill everything off screen only big problem is healing, I don't like popping pots. Do you use ecstatic frenzy and SoV ( I do! ).

I think that plug-y (the muling prog for this mod) clashes with MP in the mod, though I am nowhere near certain of that.

My Ama is still behind in terms of gear, as I said I have no sacred stuff. I use this guide, even if it is outdated:

About Multiplayer

Can I play Median XL with other people?
Median XL officially supports TCP/IP multiplayer and open battle.net. It does not work on closed battle.net ('realms') because a realm game runs on the server and all your computer does is display the graphics. Blizzard's servers do not have Median installed.
Does Median XL have a realm?
Since the Vivendi vs. BnetD lawsuit, realm emulation is considered illegal. For this reason, I do not provide an official realm for Median XL. Certain third parties may offer Median XL realms, but these are not supported by Modsbylaz and may use lower quality hacked versions of the mod.

I heard the D2 Maniacs realm is free of cheaters and offers the official version of Median XL. Note that I do not own or take part in this realm; any questions should go to the realm owner.
How do I find other Median players?
The Pandemonium section on the official FORUM allows players to find each other and play online together.
TCP/IP or open battle.net doesn't work!
Make sure that all players in the game have the same version of Diablo II LoD, the same version of the mod and that either noone or everyone is using PlugY (if you don't know what PlugY is, you're not using it).
I checked all that and it still doesn't work!
Median XL does not interfere with your ability to play multiplayer. This is not a Median XL problem. If a router or LAN is involved, Diablo II may display an incorrect IP address; consult a site like www.whatismyip.com to obtain your public IP. If this fails, please consult the official Blizzard support pages on www.battle.net.
 
Okay!!

Have you completed the black road challenge? If so, how do you stop getting owned in faustinville?
Note that I use SoV instead of paragon.
