Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Sorry for being a little late.

spigot has been lynched. He was a plain townie.

It is now night. Those with roles, do your thing.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Erwwwd has been killed

Apparently he couldn't handle the pressure of killing someone every night, and turned the gun on himself.

The town has won the game. Erwwwd was the last mafioso

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Hey - Crooked FBI Agent
SiTro - Cop
Zhao_Yue - Townie
BobTheWarrior - Vengeful Townie
Serdash - Beloved Princess
ogogo on ice - Townie
Ankeli - Godfather
friedbananazzzz - Suicide Bomber
spigot - Townie
Erwwwd - Usurper
Nolecub - Doctor
aman - Bus Driver
MassiveSin - Townie
Soylentred - Mason
Noammr - Mason
Orphan - Townie
Jaago - White Mage
Thyiad - Townie

Beloved Princess (pro-town): You have the same powers as a plain townie. If you are killed, the next day will be skipped because everyone is attending your funeral.

Bus Driver (pro-town): You choose two people to switch places during the night.

Mason (pro-town): You are part of a group of townies that are able to communicate at night to discuss what is happening in the game.

Doctor (pro-town): You have the ability to protect anyone in the game for one night. You can protect yourself, but you cannot protect the same person twice in a row.

Cop (pro-town): You can investigate anyone in the game and have their role revealed to you.

White Mage (pro-town): You are a special type of doctor. You can choose to protect anyone in the game (except yourself), and your protection on them will last for two nights. However, you can only use your ability two times the entire game, so use it wisely.

Vengeful Townie (pro-town): You are a regular townie, with the exception that once you are lynched, you can PM me the name of anyone who voted for you and you will kill that person.

Godfather (anti-town): You are the leader of the Mafia. You send in the choices for the night kill. When investigated by the Cop, you appear as innocent.

Usurper (anti-town): You are the Mafia Usurper. You act like a regular member of the Mafia, but it is your goal to get the Godfather killed. You lose if the Godfather is alive at the end of the game. The other Mafia members do not know you are the Usurper, and just believe you are a plain mafia member (hint: do not tell them you are the Usurper, tell them you are a plain mafia).

Crooked FBI Agent (anti-town): You are the Crooked FBI Agent. You are part of the Mafia. Every night, you PM me a name of a person to “interrogate” and that person will be put in jail for the next day. The person you imprison will not be able to post in the game until the next day.

Suicide Bomber (anti-town): You are part of the mafia, but have a special ability. At any time (day or night), you can PM me a target. You will kill yourself and the selected target.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

WTF? Nolecub was speaking the truth. damn.

GG aman, for taking down Ankeli. Otherwise he could've pulled off my stunt. :afro:

How did I play?

- Night 2 I saved SiTro. In the end it was the other monster-poster that got killed...
- Night 4 I saved Noammr. I like to follow other people's orders blindly.

Some thoughts.

- 3 roles capable of protecting others could have become quite ridiculous; on the other hand, we could have screwed over each other.
- I like the idea you had about the Godfather and usurper.
- aman made my head hurt

Nice game everybody.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Good game guys, I was actually trying to cover for the other two, but it seems it didn't work >.<.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

LOL as so it ends... Didn't expect that type of a finish though... so Sitro who did you end up investigating

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

I was hoping you guys would lynch Bob, just because I wanted to see the Vengeful Townie in action

Yeah, this was rather irritating when trying to figure out nk's. Add to that that my role had me working against the mafia in a way, as I had to kill ankeli at some point, although that happened very early due to aman.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Haha, nice ending

Lots of luck with aman getting Ankeli nk'ed, having him around with sitro convinced he's a townie would've been a pain. How'd you decide to switch us that night, aman?
Anyway, had a great time, hope I can manage another one when I have more time...I had no idea how much time all the reading and re-reading would demand.

Good game everyone

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Of course I was speaking the truth. Except toward the end when I stated who I was saving. I too saved Noammr and also placed a heal on SiTro last night.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Noammr, the kill on night 3 was kind of my idea. We figured taking you out would leave soy suspicious as we saw you two as masons from day 1. Aman must have thought something like that as well I think.

I did think you were lovers after day 3 and was wrong with that.

We also had some real bad luck with hey dropping his guard so easily and fried not using his bomb to take out aman because he was afk.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

GG all.
That was fun.
Erwwwd what made you end it all - did Aman switch you so you were killed instead of the target? I don't get it.
Told you guys - I am an open book -dang. Had me pegged as mason very early.

I liked the busdriver role and very good of Aman getting Ankeli at the beginning.

I realized in one post I made a mistake - I said I am trusting Ankeli for this round and what I meant was not the whole game just that one day.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

I committed suicide because there was no way out for me, with too many confirmed townies around I couldn't win anymore. there were enough packs of 2 people trusting each other fully who would have singled me out if it would come to a final 3 or 4. also three roles that protected those people at night, although I didn't realize jaago had spent all his healing already. I though a final shot was nking myself and hoping aman would have switched me, this would have given me confirmed-townieness and something to go on for the rest of the days. didn't work though, now I was just a sad lonely mafia killing himself in an empty room except for one chair and a cop lurking around the corner.

another annoying thing was the ogogo nk, I thought the cop was either ogogo by inactivity/lurking, or sitro with his prodding points, in the end I took out ogogo because I thought he if he was the cop he would get assaulted in to revealing himself the next day and sitro could sit back a bit more with his position so he could opt not to reveal. wrong choice.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

GG everyone. I think we had a slightly over-powered town side also, it in fact pointed me in entirely the wrong direction because I couldn't believe we would have a doctor, white mage and bus driver in the same game. I was actually thinking it was Sitro and Jaago who were left as mafia, maaybe with a recruiter role so they'd managed to turn Aman traitor. Guess I'm just too paranoid...

Great fun anyway, when's the next one start

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Nice one Ray, great round! Didn't see this end to it coming though. Congrats to the town for keeping it interested and condolences to the mafia. Hope you all enjoy the next round.

For those who are interested I investigated aman last night. I was working on the assumption that I wouldn't be nk'ed last night, since if I was then any choice was as good as any other. I also figured that after spigot showed plain townie, there wouldn't be much chance of me surviving the lynch. So I planned to die today and leave the town in a position where they knew enough to win the game even without me.

Last night was tricksy. I thought that the two main targets for the mafia to kill tonight would be myself (obvious why) and anyone they thought I was investigating (to back up the criticism that no one could really confirm the roles I found). The reason I was asking you to rank the possible investigatees yesterday was to imply that I would investigate the player who came top the most, as a smokescreen.

I chose aman because throughout the game I'd been making the pretty strong assumption he was on the town's side. In honesty, the biggest sign was that I was still alive. Still, an investigation would give definitive proof that he could be trusted when I was shown to be the cop. If he was mafia then the next target would be obvious.

This would then reduce the scenario down to a choice between BobTheWarrior and Erwwwd at worst. If either of those had died then it would just be the other left. With two lynches remaining that would be just enough time to lynch both, ensuring the town's victory.

So in conclusion, I felt aman was the best choice to investigate. Interesting that a series of cop investigations that didn't reveal any mafia could let me reduce the situation down that much.

I don't know how I'd have played it if I was mafia in your position, Erwwwd. Awkward place to be in, I'll agree.

I think that'll be my last game for a while, so a 'retirement' of sorts. It's been fun but I need to take a break for a bit. Thanks again Ray for being such a good host.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Drat you Aman! :P

And Erwwwd, I trusted thee! Had I known I'd had Luigi put you into an everlasting sleep!

Good game still, too bad Aman snapped me so early on. I tried to make myself fishy enough in the start to be investigated but not too much to get lynched, alas I succeeded and without Aman's intervention the outcome could've been different. :)
