Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Any plans on extending the next day with Easter this weekend? I have no problems but I don't know if anyone else will.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

No, I don't plan on making any changes. Sunday will happen in the middle of the day, so there is plenty of time Saturday and Monday to post if you can't get to a computer on Sunday.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Noammr: If SiTro is cop then letting me fill in the remaining investigations also gives me enough information to finish this. Regardless of how spigot shows it doesn't automatically mean I should be lynched, but it does become a necessary step if most of the town fails to believe me.

But the issue of whether you think I'm cop or not is not what I wanted to talk about now. I want to know who you think I should investigate tonight.

The first key question is how many mafia do we have left? We know that we have two down, and I think the most likely explanation is that we have two left. Just one means there were three total, a sixth of the players who started. Three left is the opposite case, where a third of the initial players were mafia.

Based on my past experience it has seemed that between a quarter and a fifth of the town being mafia has given the most balanced game. At 2/9, two mafia players left would sit exactly in between these bounds.

I don't think it's likely we have a recruiting mafia in play. Remember before the round started Ray said there wouldn't be a traitor involved. I'd rank a traitor as being slightly less powerful than a fully fledged recruitment by a mafia, as even though he knows who the mafia are they can only choose him to recruit from the town.

Falsifying evidence I'm less certain about. On the other hand there's only reveal upon lynch and only one anti-town faction, so there should be less need for such a power. I could be wrong though.

However, consider that the two mafia members we've seen so far have had special roles. Namely, the Crooked Detective and the Suicide Bomber. I'd hope that the remaining mafia are just plain bad guys, to keep it somewhat balanced.

Now, based on that we can start deciding who needs to be checked out tonight. Going on #542 I can try and narrow this down some.

Noammr and Soylentred can be trusted regardless if you think we have less than 3 mafia remaining.
Similarly, Jaago only becomes a threat if we have 3 mafiosos.
MassiveSin is a plain townie.
No point investigating myself

So, I'd appreciate it if the town could rank the remaining five players in order of preference with regard to being investigated.

Personally, at the moment:

1. BobTheWarrior - least trustworthy player left alive tomorrow
2. aman - worth finding out how far we can actually trust him
3. Erwwwd - need to know if his locking of Hey was the creation of an alibi
4. Nolecub - to verify his role claim, though it's the one I trust most.

So. There you have it. Though at the end of the day (heh) it's my call as to who gets investigated, I'm open to suggestions as to who. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Nice being able to post now without fear of accidentally letting slip my role.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

I would go with Erwwwd. Aman has been pushing both mafia lynches so far so much he can't be mafia unless there indeed is a falsifier (not likely).

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

You can ivestigate me if you wish, but you would just be wasting the night. I, too, have a choice to make tonight. Do I save your sorry behind, or do I make sure I live through the night?

As much as I want to know what aman's role is, I don't feel like he should be investigated tonight.

That would leave Bob and Erwwwd. Out of the two, I would choose Erwwwd. Bob has been very quiet (as has been his play style lately) and can be lynched if necessary tomorrow.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Interesting question Sitro...

IDing Aman does noting to restore credibility to you but can confirm if his role if you are indeed the cop

IDing Erwwwd & Bob they are already singled out. So if all the deflecting and role blocking the only viable option open to the mafia would be to kill myself or them and maintain the same suspicion level playing the mason's to their advantage. So to me your credibility does not restore and you are likely to id a person that will end up dead.

Thus if I were in your shoes, I'd ID one the role claimers. To insure honesty. From the one with the highest probability of survival to least.

Going to dinner thanks for listening.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Please. I'd like to hear more people's opinions here and if you rank the suspects then it helps me even further by giving me a better idea of who would be more supported as an investigation target.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

I am thinking Bob too. But what I am going to do is go back and re-read everything. I can usually get a pretty good gut feel when its one shot, no filter.

Excuse me for being skeptical again (name of the game) but if spigot comes up town here and bob comes up supposedly town, Sitro can just say he made an error, human type thingy.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Among the two I tend to suspect Erwwwd slightly more then Bob.

However if Spigot shows up mafia, we can trust your word Sitro and we might as well lynch them both while you verify the others, like massive suggested...

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Well, since Ray did not end the day yesterday, that would tell me that

1) Spigot is not mafia, or

2) Spigot is not the last mafia.

Very good point that - our lynch today is not ending the game.

I've been reading back.
Toss up on who to investigate Bob and Erwwwd.

And again I support Sitro and Aman maybe 80%.

Can someone point out to me again why people are sure Massive is townie - how do we know that? Drawing a blank.

If not a solid basis maybe he needs investigation.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Does anyone else think that if this is the way we are currently thinking Aman, Zhao, Sitro, are all townie.
Is that unlikely.
In fact Ray joked that he made the game with them all being mafia as a threat.
We know the legend that Aman and Zhao are never on the same side but again it is supposed to be random.

Thoughts quickly... please

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Ray assigned the roles randomly. Period.

I suggest we lynch nolecub tomorrow.
