(kind of) OT - Unreadable CD keys
I used to enjoy Neverwinter Nights thoroughly, but uninstalled it when I was switching computers and never got to reinstall it. When I finally felt like playing again, I noticed my CD was terribly scratched. And yes, I was unable to install the game again.
Luck has struck me though: I just purchased the Gold Edition (NwN + expansion). It costs me a bit more than just the expansion, but at least it beats buying just the original NwN again. I had waited for quite a while to be able to play again, so I didn't really care about those few extra bucks. I began to install it again and was quite excited about it, until the thing asked for my CD key.
I swear, they need to strangle the guy or gal who came up with the font that blasted CD-key is written in. Preferably with barbed wire. And slowly. You see, I seem to have quite a few 0's, O's and D's in that key. Or maybe it's just quite a few O's. Or a few D's. Or just one D with a few 0's and a few O's. There is no friggin' way I can tell, and having spent about one hour and a half trying all sorts of combinations, I swear, you are ready to throw the damn thing out of the window when you see the next "This is not a valid cd-key".
Anyone ever had a similar experience?
PS: And no, I still haven't installed it.
