Is an Um Rune a good drop from NM Hellforge?

Is an Um Rune a good drop from NM Hellforge?

Last night, I took my Meteorb through Act IV NM. She got an Um from the Hellforge. I'm noob-ish when it comes to rune drops. Is this good, or fairly normal?

On a side note, Diablo went down really easily even on P8. Meteorbs are fun. :)
 
i was happy enough to get an um from the hell hellforge :P :D
 
Yes, an Um from NM is very good. the NM hellforge can drop up to Ist.
I just got a Lem from hell hellfoge, which is pretty bad for hell.
 
An um is the highest the nm forge can drop. The hell hell forge can drop up to gul.
 
Heh, my meteorb got an Um from NM Hellforge too. Maybe it is a Meteorb thing!
Though i was not unhappy with it i didn't find much use for it...hard to take advantage of it without having some even rarer runes. Unless you want a Gloom armour maybe...

I have one word for you "stone"

Yes Um is a very good drop for the hell forge be thankful you didn't get an el or some other really low rune.

Um is the best drop from NM Hellforge, i've got more Um's from NM then Hell :scratch: .

I love my stone armour :D
 
I've always thought Ums were one of the most useful runes in the game. it's in a ton of good rune words, it's useful on it's own, and it's in the rare weapon upgrade recipe (i think...). and I never seem to have enough, I just burn right through the few I get. I did find one from Pindle recently, so now I have two ina stash and I'm trying to decide the best use for them.

I love stone also, here is mine, it is nice because i have a fant zealot who i pumped a little to much str into, but he has a high defense because of it.

Mine only has a little over 1800 def. but is in sup. dusk shroud. So only 77 str req. and any characters can wear it. Great armor and the clay golem (slows enemy ~60%) is added candy.
 
here is mine. have it on my wolfbarb. only thing is though, it is rather costly to recharge. that and the charges of wolf on the helm and i see 150k+ repair bills often...

I used to have a 2k+ one in a boneweave. IMO only armors that are medium weight / light and can have over 500 base def should be ''stoned''..
A great hauberk looks ugly but is stylish though :)
 
I had an eth stone sacred armor on my hammerdin's defiance merc. Gave it some insane defence (think it was 20k) once the aura is active. Coupled with concentration, it can stand up to melee bosspacks on its own easily.

I totally second that..And even though Stone and Crescent Moon are very nice, Um's really need to be socketed in armours...to greatly enhance an already kickass item. Um is an insane drop from Nightmare Hell Forge...An Um from Hell would also be awesome.. I was very happy with my Fal from Nightmare, that is, until you came along with your fancy Um:(
 
IMO um is the best rune that can drop from hellforge, as soon as I get ums, they go for a runeword or for extra resists in armor. I have 2 ists and a mal from forges that just sit in atma because I dont have the other runes to make any runewords, and I dont need 30 extra mf that badly when my inv is only half full of mf charms. I certainly would be happy with 2 guls to make a hoto with, but I'm pretty patient and I dont need to blow all my mals and ists for one

stone isnt the only useful thing with um, cresent moon is a kick ass weapon, especially in an eth war pike for the merc. Stone is very nice as well, and so is just putting ums in your shako or GA

why not? CM can be made in polearms....unless WP is a spear. then its a conspiracy f00!!!!!
