 nice on max.

Nothing personal against fbob, but for the integrity of the forum rules he has to be banned regardless of what people in the forum might think. The precedent has already been set: break the forum rules, and you get bludgeoned with the modstick. Members who've been around longer and contributed more to the forum have been been perma-banned for borderline offenses, so deliberately hacking/duping items while playing in and hosting tourneys and then trying to cover the whole thing up is inexcusable.

Sorry to see you go Bob,

I have always been amused by your postings. I guess one easy joke too many, but you should know the way things can go. Can't say i approve of downloading strange items, but i can definately see the attraction of the dark side.
Oh well, star wars has shown us what happens if you give in to the darkside.....

I feel an urge to play chess coming on.

white pawn moved from a2 to a4 your move:p

im pretty sure you know what things i talk about ;)

if you dont congratulations to you. I can tell you that your better of not knowing

IMO socket quests on whites are a waste unless you need those sockets NOW! as it's possible to find the item you want pre-socketed.
i've never seen a pre-socketed unique.
come to think of it i dont think ive ever used a socket quest on a green item either.

Well, I guess its an individual thing. I reckon I would have at least 20 unused socket quests amongst all of my mat/patriarches so I guess from my point of view, socket quests are worth next to nothing.

You mean, get married to natalie portman? Where do I sign up then?!

Regardless of personal feelings about bob (which I won't go into), how can he NOT be banned? He cheated with an item pack at the very beginning and never purged them for almost 2 years while MPing and playing in tournaments (and possibly doing giveaways--I'm not positive about this one). That's many many instances of bannable offenses.

Now I'm all for second chances and forgiveness in general, but when someone has decieved me for a long time, they have to earn back my trust over a long time. If someone lied to me for 2 years, I'd have a hard time just trusting them again overnight.

As an old guy, i was thinking suffering from oedipous (sp?) syndrome AKA getting killed by your kid.
Hmmm, i may rent these new star wars things someday.

shut up, that's why.

Now the joking aside it's time for what I think.
I've always liked fbob even if he did go over the top and got on my nerves occasionally, but then again who doesn't. However the fact that he lied to us all for 2 years now has lost me alot of respect for him.
And yes he has to go, there should be no second chance. He has numerous chances to start anew, he knew he was breaking the rules. and didn't take the chance to admit to it until his hand was forced. And for this reason i'm not sorry to see him go. The SPF doesn't need cheaters.
But i'll still miss ya as a mate:drink:

Wow Funeral Dirge.

 for reminding me of a specific event that happened to me and that i blame durf for:p

it involved people who i think suffered(no pun intended) from masochism as they would by choice enter open battle net and try to duel with their legit gear users who used the highely illiegit white and black items of 1.09. As i dont suffer from masochism having to watch those duels or even see open battlenet was a horror. Lets just say its better to never venture there

don't bother. stick to 4,5,6

oh and L_W:  I used to play open bnet. and i got PK'ed an awful lot. never did realise what was happening. then i found out. so yes i know

at this time i had suffered a harddrive crash and lost all my 1.09 gear. so to not suffer from withdrawal effects i played some chars i made on a friends computer. He and our other friends where bored of 1.09 at the time so they started pvp and pk and pkk chars. of course crazy as they where they tried to defeat the cheaters with legit gear.

I don't see why he should be banned.

Of course what he did was wrong, I don't think anyone is disputing that. However, banning him would essentially be a ban over moral issues. If we ban him over his morality in this issue, then where do we stop?

Should we ban Garbad_the_Weak for the reprehensible behaviour he admits to in this thread: http://www.purediablo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=360489 ? Why not? It's certainly much worse than anything Bob has done. It's not to someone on this forum you say? Well, there goes any moral highground you'd like to claim if you say things only matter if someone here is affected.

In short, I can't see any justifiable reason to ban him.

If you really want to punish him, change his name to something less annoyingly stupid, at least that would benefit everyone. ;)

This has nothing to do with morality and everything to do with the forum rules.

Lot's of members have been banned for less...

I didn't know him since i'm not that long around here.

I'm rather confused now, if you can't trust a member with 7K posts :(

your a funny guy shakes.

What bob did is against forum rules.
what garbad did whilst sleezy isn't against any rule i am yet to read on these forums.

So you think cheating, which I assume is against the rules here (at least the last time I checked it was), is OK?

We know for sure he duped a plain hydra bow. Still can’t quite figure that one out, but how do you know he stopped there? The answer is that you don’t.

Cheating on your girlfriend is not against this forum's rules.

It's just a really stupid thing to do.
Unless the chick you cheated her with is better looking

...

I think fbob should be let to stay. I mean what would be a better way to say breaking forum rules is A-OK?
