I couldn't agree more with this post by kabal, I've been actively posting in these forums for about four years now, and I've seen lots of people far more respected than bob banned... I'm certain our mods will take the right decission on this issue

I'm mostly lurk, and mostly ask questions, though I also try to answer questions when I can. I don't multiplay or trade, so I don't really consider myself "part" of the forum community.

Using item packs, hacking, duping, modding, all that -- is no problem. 3\/3|\| 7yp1|\|9 |_1x3 7h12 12|\|7 20 B4D....

But, doing that and then interacting (multiplaying and trading and giveaways, olympics, etc) with the forum when he knows the players are trying to play the game "pure", that's the problem.

It's great to have fun with the game. Since it's only a game, any way you can make it fun is ok. But messing with other ppl's fun is not.

He can't pretend he didn't know how other ppl here felt about duped items/hacked items etc. But yet he traded/multiplayed/whatever (not sure on the exact details, to be honest)

Thats whats Not Cool...
 
Bob deserves to be banned, and I am confident that will happen.

I don’t feel bad for him, but I do feel bad for the countless members’ stashes that he tainted with his “legit†items. That really sucks.

Like others mentioned, more respectable members have been banned for less. I'm another one who never hid my 'love' for this great guy, so on a personal note its surely an excellent thing he's finally caught.

Policy wise, should he escape banning, it will set an unfortunate precedent, and heap injustice upon those who have been banned previously. I'm sure the mods and the forum will do the right thing.

He craved attention. He kept touting himself as a prominent figure, and to that end always had stories to share, exploits to brag. How wide a web of deceit he's woven to satisfy this craving remains to be seen, but i'd hope people can recognise him for what he is.

1.) Don't MP
2.) Don't Trade
3.) Don't use any 3rd party program

and many pieces of advices (for Purist members)
-dont activate /players
-kill all the monsters in the map
-finish every mission
-get all the waypoints
-play HC
-dont kill the Act bosses repeatedly for MF
-etc

Hah! Now see how this game turned us into a psychotic idiot...
 
I'm not shocked that Bob admitted to doing this..but I am shocked at some of the responses here.

If someone came here and made a thread about wanting to download an item pack (like the warehouse pack when 1.10 first came out) or said that he duped items to plan characters for b.net, you guys would rip him a new one and scream and shout until they were banned. But now, F_B comes and says he downloaded an item pack, duped items and tainted not only himself, but countless other members of this board and you want him to come back and be active in this community?

The hypocrisy of this is just amazing. F_B cheated, and should be banned regardless of his contributions to the forum.

A long time ago, I said a few stupid words on a very different internet forum, and I was mob ruled out of there by the next day (though I was never banned). That put me in my place on the internet...

I come here to brag. I love to talk about how pretty good I am at D2. But when I write big long stories, I don't do it so people will think "man he's cool" or whatnot but because when my characters are a bunch of gray-robed ghosts I want to have something, anything left of them. Other people come here as a sort of self-promotion as well. This isn't a bad thing. RTB and Thrugg, I'm sure, like knowing more about code than everybody else. Nightfish loves his 49 Guardian project, and showing everybody how cool they all are. But FB took it over the top.

I didn't hate FB, I didn't like him too much...all I can say is, would we be better off if nobody saw the "Item Level: 99" in the "silence" thread?

Well, this is my first post here in a very long time. I am one of the "old school" posters from very long ago (Flanimal). I, for one, would never give someone a second chance who knowingly duped - both in the game and a community. Why would you ever trust someone again? If he did it for so long, he would not hesitate to do it again and claim his legitness.

Self-righteous? It's not like he's getting banned because we felt his items were worse then our items.

He's getting banned because he's broken the rules and broken them in a matter that impacts a great deal of this community.

There's nothing malicious about it, to be a part of this community we must trust you, and when that trust is broken the community has every reason to be angry.
 
I really dont think using a item pack is grounds for bannage....just as long as it is deleted and the game is restarted. I had to delete a mat and a pat earlier this year cause i used one for about 4-5 days. However yes this is a different story F_B for shame man for shame
(no i dont use a item pack i totally restarted my game(uninstalled/deleted all files) thenreinstalled clean)
