How do people get SO rich?

now 10+ enigmas
around 5 cohs
all made in superior armors

three eth ca infinity's
over 25 Ums
over 5 mals
couple HRs

fully equipped hdin and lite sorc

im gettin bored of this game

ahahah just made another 6bo cta

Stop think you are ****ing something, seriously.

lollol @ everyone taking this seriously

LOL u all mad

We're obviously all mad at you

You're bragging about things no one cares about. Saying that you have 8 enigmas is not really something to brag about, enigma is boring runeword, etc. Saying you have 8 15/15/775 enigmas might impress me a little more, but thats neither here nor there.

People that actually have wealth don't need to brag about it, when you hit that point, you'll realize this too, but until then please try to not be that obnoxious 12 year old internet kid that no one likes.

I have played D2 from 1.03 plus, was a now defunct clan (Clan-BW with Kev) co-founder, have maintained 7+ full up accounts mostly mules with all levels and acts for easy pick up, played all ladder seasons, and I play solo mostly on realms now. (2 computers and 2 CD keys)
I still don't have the 1st and 7th items on that list.
I do have a sh-tload of stuff thats near/better (lots of ladder only) than it and I have lost better items that the game legit dropped to me through game changes (1.08 and pre items I legit found in game that they decided to delete).
I still enjoy the game, thats the point I would guess.
If I had everything I think I would lose interest. I collect sets for example, and I have them all but am still replacing or adding newer versions for older ones.
Items chasing is what the game really comes down to, people that buy them will never have my sense of satisfaction from finding/making/tradeing-legit for the great items. As far as the rule changes go I still miss my 1.04 Greyform Armor with level 0 requirement on it most out of the items that I lost to the changes patches (all the no level stuff got levels needed and the existing ones got nerfed ) made in the game.
It was my first unique.

This works on every ladder rest:

Build a meteorb (equip the merc with insight)
run NM Meph until you get decent gear
trade everything you keep for MF (pgems, keys, whatever, you don't get items from holding your wealth)
Always keep in mind you want to max your killing speed as to maxing your MF.

Trade your Hell forge on your meteorb for something you can use.

The point.
The so-called wealth is nothing but pixels, too.

Very true, couldn't agree more. However, it's also pixels that many other people wish to have very much. :wink3:

I just feel as if bragging over and over again in threads like this will lead to nothing other than disrespect toward the person doing so, which has obviously happened here. I mean, honestly, who is he trying to impress to such an extent that he feels it necessary to continue the bragging?

I'm sure most of the people here trying to put an end to his self-absorbed posts in this thread, or those that have posted their wealth stories with a real detailed method are much more well-off, but are simply more humble, and "useful" to the community.

But hey, whatever floats your boat, I guess.

So boyscout...

How much money did you spend on all that?

You must have made the item shops out there a decent buck.

Did you steal mommy's credit card?

Not to play devil's advocate, but there's no reason to tear into the guy or assume he bought the items -- what about the other really wealthy or really good "vet" players around here? Did they buy all of their crazy stuff?

You all know darn well that you'd love to have everything this guy has -- especially if you currently don't have it.

And if your a player that has greater or comparable wealth, then it just makes you look pretentious for poking fun.

Seriously... let's grow up everyone! Let's not turn the forums into bnet incarnate please o.o;;

Other veterans haven't necessarily bragged to such an extent in a thread in which the initial poster was simply looking for advice on how to do it. While many of us have provided ways in which we've done it, he felt it necessary to waltz on in just to show off his wealth.

May as well have walked into a soup kitchen to brag about the amount of gourmet food he has at home. Is it necessary? Of course not. Unless he feels obligated to further tickle his ego.

back on topic - as others have said above, easy way to gain wealth (and fairly cheap) is to run for keys. if you have a source of teleport and some FCR, Nihlithak and Summoner are very fast. running for keys, on the way you can sometimes get nice drops (HoZ on my way to Summoner, Nihlithak charms, and so forth).

once you have keys, you have options:
- sell the keys as sets or individually
- do the mini ubers and sell the organs
- do trist yourself and sell torches

I wouldn't view his "bragging" with negativity if he gave some information to the OP regarding how he managed to gain wealth. In boyscout's first post in this thread, he just listed a bunch of items and gave minimal advice on how to obtain them (he did say "trading" but that was pretty much it). The posts that really irked me were the two posts he made after that one. Those two posts just screamed of "look at me and my koinz everyone!!!". Hell, he even quoted himself in one of those posts, which basically tells us that he wants to continue bragging about his items and bring some more attention to it when no one else was willing to do so. Next, he called people "angry" and "lololololed" (laugh out loud out loud out loud?) at them when they pointed out that his being a braggart didn't really contribute to the thread and made him look frankly, like an idjit (sorry to steal your word Dave; I'll pay later).

Whether he obtained his items through trading or eBay isn't the point; the point is that he made it clear that his only reason for posting in this thread is to brag about his e-wealth, which I must say, isn't even that much. I mean, come on, a few Enigmas and CoHs, and a handful of Ums? While they are certainly a nice and useful bunch of items, they certainly aren't brag material. It's like bragging about a $20 bill. Yes, it's nice and good, but everyone and their dog has a $20 bill. So please boyscout, if you wish to brag, start a brag thread, and the people with the REAL wealth can show you what it's all about. :wink3:

Pssst...don't actually create a brag thread. The last thing anyone here wants to see is you brag about how found another $20 bill...I mean, Enigma.

Back on topic:
@OP-there are many easy to find items that are in very high demand. Perfect gems, crafting runes, junk jewels, etc. If you can kill Hell Baal, Diablo, or Nihlathak, do so. The charms these guys drop are in high demand and can fetch you a pretty penny. You might even score a lucky unique drop, or in the case of Nihlathak, a few Keys. While individually these items aren't worth too much, in bulk they can be worth quite a lot. Use the currency you get from these and buy the items you need. Don't buy the perfect stat items; it's not worth the extra amount you'll have to fork over, especially when you're at this stage of your wealth career. Continue to farm, don't hope for the Crown of Ages or Griffons to drop (because it probably won't), but do collect the gems and low runes that do.

and when all else fails remember that the fun you have hunting for items, or completing quests, or pk'ing - that is the true wealth to it all!!

but the easiest routes are likely key run and pgem trade - you'd be suprised how many people are looking to buy those pgems!

Re: How do people get SO rich?

Well for me I've started over 3 times this ladder season this is what I did.

1. Make a magic finder. Personally I have never played a fishymancer but I have had successful sorcs. (I'm currently working on my 3rd mf sorc). Duel element is the best for those who cannot afford an Infinity. I was running a Fireball/frozen orb on east with great results, I just moved to west and started a Light/frozen orb sorc. I could MF anywhere in hell with my orb baller.

Here are Several Sorceress Guides:

For your merc I know people are going to argue against this but get an Act 2 Norm Defiance merc. Otherwise you will get pounded while you tele. (Note: If you like to walk through the game, have someone kill Andy so you can get a lvl 2 Merc, then walk Act1, Mercs are always stronger when you raise them with you, getting a level 2 you can bypass 10+ lvls to when you would normally get killing Andy yourself, thus he will be stronger.) Duel Element sorcs are always weaker then a single element sorc, so you will need a good merc until your a decent level. Remember Insight is your friend!

Do Nm Runes to find some decent gear before you venture into hell and you wont be dissapointed, I normally run my sorc's Untwinkled and find some good gear doing full clears.

The Sweet Spot.
Ok here are a few things you can do to get the wealth:

-Basic Mf Kill everything trust me you would be suprised at some of the stuff that drops from a monster some people consider unworthy of becoming a crispy critter.

-Best Mfing spots, (Note: it's best to kill everything in all areas but for MFing runs these are what I always hit up)
Mosoleum Act 1 Rogue Cemetary
Rakinishu (by the cairn stones for Items) (Hey got a pair of 45 war travs off this one)
Hell Cows (Items and remember to share the steaks with us)
Countess Act 1 Tower (Terror Keys and Runes)
The Pits - Act 1 Tomeo Highlands
Andy - (Items of course)
Summonor - (Hate Keys)
Durry - (Items Yes I have found a few goodies on him)
Travical Council - (Gold and Items)
Mephisto - (Items)
Chaos Santuary and Diablo - (Items)
Skenk and Eldritch -(Items)
Pindle - (Items)
Nilhithok - (Destruction Keys, Items, and Gold)
World Stone Keep and Baal - (Items)

Here is a list of all the areas and there Levels:

http://www.purediablo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=427018

-Open all chests, kick all barrels, pry open all undefiled graves, Loot all the armor and weapon stands ETC ETC. (Examples: Last Ladder Season I Got 2 Shakos from armor stands, and a vex from an undefiled grave in hell tower. I found a hoz in a box during an Andy run.)

-Pawn Everything blue, yellow, or even crappy mustard and pick up all gold, remember all gold can be used for gambling, repairs and more importantly merc resurrections, (Lazy no good moron always sleeping on the job). Granted you won't get the 50k gold drop per monster of a GF Barb, but this will make sure you have the gold when you need it.

-Glitch rush and level several mules for Hell Forge, and Socket Quests. Not only will this cut down on the amount of time needed to mule, aka if none of your friends are on you won't have to perm a mule game, if you find a game with several good drops you don't want to leave you can mule in that game and continue. You will also have a chance to Get some Hr's from your forges to help you out, socket quests for your Rune Words, (Eth CV's will always get 4os From Larsek I believe), if you also level them you will be able to free up space by having them wear the gear you collect.

-Join Public runs pick stuff up and check the vendors when others are selling. (Note: If you find something thats pretty awsome be the better player find out whose running the game and ask them if they want it).

-Collect and Cube up all Gems and Runes From chippies and El's to Flawless and midrunes. While people might argue against this as a waste of time You will have a healthy supply of both also 40 P Gems = a Pul.

-Trading yes I will be the first to admit that when trading on Bnet you will come accross a vast amount of Idiots, morons, scammers, Dupers and hackers, but It's another way of getting those needed Items. Also you can Join the Trading world here on the forums.

Heres the Link to the trading forms:

I hope this helps you out,
