i mean, what is the chance of that? SHOULD HE HAVE BOUGHT A LOTTERY TICKET? he was playing hell, on players 1...

By some rudimentary stats, the chance is = 1:25 billion, a lottery ticket would have been a good idea

The chance of him finding a Ber and Sur from Duriel is significantly smaller than the chance of him running a drop mod.

If he can cheat the lottery as well, sure buy a ticket.

I can understand you saying this, id say the same thing if someone wrote that.

BUT i saw it with my own eyes, and im sure he doesnt use drop mods, hes a complete purist, doesnt use non self found gear. anyways, i'll never get my paws on em...

In all the time I've read this forum, I've *never* seen anyone claim even 2 Um or better runes in a single drop. A Ber and a Sur? For first kill, that's the two rarest items he can drop . The odds that your friend was born on Mars are probably better than the odds those runes are legitimate.
 
The first Duriel kill could also drop Ber and Sur, and whatever other godly item you want to insert on the ......... (dotted line). Probability mathematics aren't 'charge up' math, I'm sure you all know that. Personally I'd have him kill Duriel 5 more times, see what that netted him.

That is not to say I believe a legit double HR drop, the poor guy just has not got the chances in his favour.
 
Maybe you could investigate his Diablo folder to see for yourself if he has a drop mod or not. RTB is the guy to PM if you want to know how to find it out.

As for me, well, there are always 1-in-billion things happening, only very few of them are noteworthy, and a smaller part of them is something good/useful. Like Cattleya's ethereal Lenymo, or FB's light mana potion from Hell Baal, for example. So I don't deem it impossible, but heck, I can't buy it as it is!

Well... Duriel first kill does had better odds of dropping Ber and Sur than any other monster, but even I find that a bit hard to believe. But, just in case it's all legit... uhh... congrats on seeing one of the rarest drops possible in the game?

No. Why would he give them to me?

They are not duped, I saw them drop. The question is was he using a drop mod. I don’t know any more than any of you, so theres no point in implying Im a haxor.

All I know is that he accessed Diablo from the same folder I use with the same D2 icon. I couldn’t see any indications he was using a drop mod.

Im just reporting what I saw. I wont ever use, or even hold these runes with my chars, they are his. I have no reason to lie. I don’t see why you guys should accuse ME of cheating. I am very firm against cheating, it ruins the game, its as simple as that. I will definitely ask him if he’s altered the game in any way.

Please guys, I know it’s a ridiculously unlikely drop, but im just saying what I saw drop. No need to sharpen the forks and start a witch hunt
 
Well, if they're not your runes obviously you're not the one potentially cheating. No question of that.

This isn't just a "rare" drop, like an eth Lenymo or a Light Mana Potion from Baal (or a Tyrael's or a Zod). Prespective: Baal dropping a Zod is 1 in 3.4 million. A light mana potion is 1 in 1.9 million. Duriel dropping a Ber and a Sur is 1 in 55.4 BILLION (I'm disagreeing with Shermo's math). This could well qualify as "best drop in the entire history of the game". Perhaps it is just that, but you can understand why some of us might be skeptical. Extremely skeptical, in some cases.

It's your friend, it's up to you whether or not to believe him.
