Darn. Everything seemed to go well with my life in the 150 range and my gear good enough to kill most enemies in one or two shots, when I wandered to close to a cold enchanted unique and my quest was ended. RIP toxaris.

It wasn't really anyones fault, just close post timing and bad luck. Had I not been extra crusty about how early in the morning it was and the fact that I had to walk in the rain I most likely wouldn't even have said anything. Sorry!

I of course followed your sound advice and the fend is going well! However they must have changed the graphics recently because it looks a lot like Plague Javalin when I cast it.... I donno what to say man, but it's strange.

I survived Duriel!
Let me rephrase that, my merc survived Duriel. It took some time/thawing potions/healing potions/town portals, but it worked in the end. Duriel dropped an all-awesome Town Portal scroll! Maybe I should post it in the item find thread...
Let's see what act III brings. (exploding undead flayers, *gulp*).

1 NDE in act 3,ofcourse from the flayer shamans inferno, though i tried to be extra careful.Meph dropped the dragon chang and some crappy rares which sux.Other finds angelic armor,vidalas helm,hsarus buckler again and gorefoot.

Still nothing useful since Corpsefire. Gotten about four or five poison damage charms so that's helped. Glad to get the cube to make space and cubed a decent polearm for merc. Think I'm going to regret going with the bow, but the tournament was just calling me to be a bowazon. I'll be slaughtering the countess repeatedly next time 'til I can put edge in my superior light xbow. Need to remember to install RWM before I do that though.

I have progressed slowly (one or two waypoints at a time as time allows) and have reached the Flayer Jungle (how I hate that place with all the little ones running around). There has been a couple of close calls; Shamans with fire and a (unique?) spider that one-hit killed the merc so I chose to abort...

I haven't played that much and never played an amazon past act 1 so it is quite interesting. At level 29 I have Dex 168, haven't found much equipment to boost it. My best equipment is a Hand of Broc (I think it gives mana and drain) and a Bonnet which gives the merc more damage. I hope the Valkyrie will be strong. I don't really know any good ways to increase strength to wear equipment (the charms take a lot of space and don't give much bonus, so far only +1 or +3 for grand charm), what do you all do?

Someone asked for strategies. I mostly stab with a javelin (cattle prod as someone said) but sometimes use a bow to freeze them, I have found one with +1 to bow skills, I think that is quite good :smiley:

Well, yesterday was a goo day. Only to be followed by a nice day today. I finished act 2 and 3 yesterday. My zon seriously flies trough the foes. Duriel was only a bit tough and I could even tank Meph (as opposed to my merc who couldn't).
Today I went trough act 4. Nothing really happened. The best thing was that I found a grand charm with 6 dex and ofcourse that I beat Diablo. I found a pair of cleglaw gloves in act 3, combined with cold gives slow opponents. I couldn't tank Diablo, but my valk and merc could while I just hopped in and out of range distracting him. His fire and lightning attacks were dangerous but not deadly.
Decided to stop in Harrogath for a bit. Maybe I'll play untill Shenk or so for a couple of levels, but probably not much further.

Didn't really mean to get this far, but sort of kept going (as you do ...)
I'm fairly sure that this is the first time I've ever gone through the whole game on player 8 (apart from the Ancients - I wimped out and did those on /p 1). Even Baal went down first time, even if he did take a while.

Actually, Baal was relatively kind and dropped Ichorsting, which has a nice +20 dex bonus. The rest was useless rares and blues. Took a bit of effort getting the 40 str to wield the xbow, and but it was worth it for the extra dex.

Also did the cow level, but the best drop there was Sanders Gloves, which got sold. Will probably do Nihl next, but may leave him and go into NM without doing him at all. Depends on the mood.

Saw the dreaded "deeds" in the flayer jungle today - I KNEW impatience was going to get me in the end, but I thought it would be Diablo's "lightning of doom" that'd finish me.

My merc got caught on the other side of a river, and then I got swamped by flayers. Just didn't get to the 'juves fast enough...

If you want to take a look, the "deeds" are posted in the ingame section of the community forum. The $£^^&&%^ merc isn't even in the shot.

Beat Durial and started Act 2. Duriel as actually much easier then I had anticipated. My merc was able to tank him fairly well with only 1 trip to town. However on the way to the Orafice I ran across a pack of 3 Champion Unravelors and 1 Possessed Unravelor in a square room with a bunch of Skeletons and a few Beatles and some Urders as well as another open door to the side from which more Urders kept coming.

It was a really really tough fight! Their blood sphere things really hurt and it was really difficult to keep up with killing all the skeletons that were being res'ed even after I lured many of them away. When I was able to get a shot in on the champs I simply wasn't doing enough damage to them. At one point I was able to get inside the room and ran around them in circles while my merc attacked them and I chucked Plague Javalins however this did a nice job of stiring up the Urders and Beatles that where in the next room over so they started following me around in circles as well. Once the Unravelers had a chance to raise enough skeletons again I became trapped. Luckaly I managed to TP out in time (only just in time though!).

I was too afraid to return through the portal so I ran back from the Canyon WP and lured some more skeletons away and ran into the room again so my merc would engage them. It was at this point that I realized that they weren't just ressurecting Skeletons but they were res'ing Urders and Beatles too! No wonder there seemed to be so many of the damned things!

Anyway, I did manage to defeat them and holy crap that story ended up long!

Aiming_Arrow, the founder of this tourney, passed out on the doorsteps of level 30. I was rerunning chaos sanctuary (everything except diablo) when my computer decided it was time to update my virusscanner. It caused some sort of lag and when the game started again I wasn't paying attention. (So it was not the lag that killed me, but my lack of attention I think) Three knight struck me at the same time. It was a bit too much for her, may she rest in peace.

There is a small chance that I will avenge here death, but anyhow I will keep track of this tourney of course, and I'm also already thinking about a new one that fits this serie of tourneys. I hope we will see a guardian in this one, in contrast with the last one!

BTW, ATMA is, like I said before :smiley: , only allowed for muling out. So indeed no extended stash for gems, runes or other stuff. It's easy enough already. :grin:

Thanks for the answer, looks like I'd better get cracking and find that cube!

I updated the table as well, Flexyzon is sitting in Lut Gholein with her new defensive Desert Merc, the only problem is I forgot to switch out my Rogue's Arctic Furs and headgear so his only satisfactory gear is The Dragon Chang Spear I found late in Act 1 :(. I was tempted to use my imbue on a set of javelins to hopefully get some nice mods including replenish but I held off for now until I investigate which level would be best for that.

Andy dropped a low end Nagle which was disappointing, but I was able to make a Nadir helm which is quite helpful, especially the mana after each kill.

Hot_nDexy has killed Andy and is resting in Lut Gholein. I switched to a Defiance A2 Merc, but realized there are no great choices for my build.

I am going with a Freezing Arrow/LF Hybrid. Biggest problem is that my good offensive skills are all lvl 30 - I hope I get there. I'm a bit underpowered. I have about 4 points in Cold Arrow and 1 in PlagueJav -that's my offense. LOL!

Andy dropped nothing - only S/U I found in A1 was Hsarus' Shield.

NDE with fangskin. Apperently my merc didnt get the memo about not beating on LEBs when I'm pinned in the corner directly next to them. I basically slammed all 8 of my potion hotkeys and watch as the solid sliver at the bottom barely stayed in existance while my merc continued to pound on Fangskin. Realized I was a little to confident not to put a row of Full Rejuvs on the belt so as not to waste them do to fat/clumsy finger effect. Learned my lesson.

Seems as though the only charms I'm getting are poison dmg. Add in my jewel of envy and tal in my xbow and I can kill most things in one or two hits, just have to wait for five seconds. Works pretty well with my low lvl multishot.

You know what? I was real busy trying not to die so it's possible I was mistaken. However, I'm pretty sure I saw a Beatle appear out of no-where. Maybe Champion or Posessed Unravelors can revive different things? or maybe not. I once saw a Hell Bovine get ressurected too, I swear to god!
