Forum Mafia - The Dark Tower Game Thread

Not asking who you recruited (and unless your mason recruit is different, generally mason recruits can be mafia?).

Guess it doesn't matter atm.
Yeah it's not very important information, yet. Though, I have absolutely no reason to suspect the unknown player to be mafia because they're a member of the ka-tet in the series.

It might be time for a mass claim soon? I think we're down to only 4-5 players who haven't claimed at this point.

Given we are fairly certain that Gwai is a Neuter

Lol. I am not Varys, sorry (Game of thrones reference for those who didn't catch it).

I'm putting all my faith into Gwaihir to be telling the truth, but I don't really feel safe in doing so. If he is telling the truth, and is pro-town, then I'll apologize later. Otherwise, (told you so!)

Interesting. So going for both sides here? You are putting your faith in me, but if that faith is misplaced, you are saying I told you so?

Day turn wasn't posted yesterday middayish, I was promoted yesterday and went out drinking. (which I intend to do again tonight).

Congrats!

This is a good point, but at this point we have three confirmed non-town to kill:
BA, Gwaihir, and Gory.

I don't know of any reason why we should kill anyone before those three.

Really? So if BA dies today, you think that the best idea is to lynch me? Even if it takes 3 days to do?

Pharphis:
Morder (or whatever his name is) is red. If Gwaihir is a neutral that wins with town, how can part of his wincondition be that he loses if a member of the red is alive? That makes no sense.

Beyond that, neutrals are bad for town, because a neutral win means a town loss. Based on that, I'd say we have to kill the neutral.

I am not sure everyone follows my definition, but here they are:

Town: Wins when anti-town is eliminated
anti-town: wins when other factions can not prevent them from winning
nuetral: can win with either town or anti-town factions.

From this I consider SK and cult to be anti-town, although others seem to think otherwise.

I on the other hand am neutral, with 2 conditions:
1) Mordred is dead
2) I am alive when game ends

As for why I have that win condition - probably to make my role more interesting than a normal survivor, to match book flavor (Walter dies trying to kill him in the books), and to balance the rest of the powers I have been given.

Me winning in no way prevents the town from winning. It also does not prevent a mafia win. I can win alongside either faction.

Stink it does.

Mouse,
Yes, I'm suspicious of you and I think by now you should be able to come up with a small list of non-confirmed scum which you think are scum, and non-masons which you think are town. The reason for you locking is just because I find you more suspicious than zauper and numbers, and there are plenty more hidden mechanics that could be in play involving lynch/lock. Ofc, when I made that post I was talking about BA lynch specifically, but why not try this method on the gory lynch as well?

Is he locked, yet? Who was the first/last voter so far?

also it's been much less than 24 hours, not over 24.

Here's an unofficial vote, I started with post #950
Bad Ash (4) : Pharphis, Phillinnicus, djmbbandie, Numbers, Caluin Graye, BipolarChemist, Phillinicus
Goryani (5) : Goryani, Gwaihir, Phillinicus, Noammr, Kestegs, BipolarChemist, Caluin Graye,

I'll be here most of the day and I'm willing to lock the vote on gory. Hopefully locking doesn't mean I'm dying instead!

Lets make it 3-4 players that haven't claimed. I'm Donald Callahan, the Priest. The White.

We're switching to a dead-but-able-to-vote goryani and unvoting bad ash because gwaihir typed Kill Bad Ash? I just want to get this straight.
Is it because bad ash kept typing clock sounds? Coo Coo, was it? I have a couple of questions:

1) What happens is bad ash doesn't get kill:'d? Lynch gwaihir tomorrow? Bad Ash?

2) Why immediately lynch someone who can only vote?

3) What about kestegs? What did his character being Jake Chambers, wiki said he's white, that mean he town, yes?

We know that Gory is the daytalk facilitator for the mafia. If we lynch Gory, then it is likely that the mafia will no longer have day talk available to them. I like this idea because it may force more vocalization in this thread and limits their coordination.

@Drixx,
Can Gory still chat with his team mates?
Does he still provide them day talk?

Sorry, flubb, I've got two threads to keep track of.

I'm all for asking the mod for clarification on some things like this. Gory is half-dead, so it's (maybe intentially) unclear to us whether he can do anything other than vote. Drixx is the mod and can answer however he wants

1)We're changing because it's a risk that gives us information. We need to eventually lynch Gory one day either way, so he's going either today or tomorrow.
2) If Gwai's kill on Bad Ash doesn't go off, then we take 1x strongman hit, but we also get to add another scum to our list. so we have guaranteed scum lynches for another day.
3)Kestegs is white and a member of the masons group.

I feel like coju isn't even following along.

More about my question to Drixx:
From a lore standpoint it's tough to see how a tied down robot can relay messages between humans/humanoids and I thought this may play into the game mechanics. ofc balance of mechanics comes first, so we'll see what drixx says.
